It's clean, modern, and stocked with a few fast food options like Sbarro and Dunkin as well as a 7-11. There's plenty of room for both cars and trucks to park as well. The gas prices are a few cents more than off turnpike places though but all pumps were working when I visited. I didn't get any food on my last visit but I had previously gotten a 7-11 slurpee and my 7-11 rewards were accepted here. I'd drive the extra few miles to gas up here again.

This rest stop is also a Michigan Welcome Center, so it's a little more elevated than your typical rest stop. Along with restrooms, you'll find a huge room full of brochures and pamphlets about Michigan and places to visit in Michigan. If you have questions that the literature can't answer, there are some friendly people sitting at desks at the back of the room. I'm assuming they're friendly! I didn't talk to them, but they looked friendly. This is the Midwest, after all. The restrooms are relatively clean. I was in and out as quickly as possible and tried not to look around too much. One thing that's cool about this rest stop is that they have an ice cream machine! There were several different flavors of Blue Bunny ice cream bars, plus some Snickers ice cream and Starburst ice cream bars. There are also vending machines with your typical snacks, like chips, pretzels, jerky and candy. There's also a coffee machine, which dispenses regular coffee or lattes or cappuccinos. Outside, there's a large, grassy area for pets, plus some picnic tables. The restrooms and vending machines are available every day, 24 hours a day. The welcome center is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

There are a few vending machines with snacks and beverages (Pepsi and Coke products), and they even had cream soda! What?! I never see cream soda in a vending machine. There's also an ice cream vending machine, too. The outside has some grassy areas for pets to do their business, and a few places to walk them. If you need to stop and use the restroom, this is a great place to do so.

They also have lots of grass & a small fenced area where you could let your dog off leash. This one has EV chargers. They also have outdoor tables. And of course gas.

Westbound between Detroit and Kalamazoo, this rest area is clean, peaceful, offers an easy lane for slowing down off the highway and enough room to get back onto the highway with good visibility. The building is the same as other MDOT rest areas I've seen with bathrooms, vending machines, a map of the local area, picnic tables, a dog walking area and some shady spots (depending on the angle of the Sun) for a brief snooze. Not too many spots for semis and RVs, but there is some room. I imagine it gets quite busy in the evenings and overnights. The Love's side of the store had hot dog rollers, beer, soda, ice and frozen meals as well as all of the snacks you could ask for. The overall condition of the store is decent, and I'd give the store a solid B for cleanliness, the staff an A for friendliness, and the location an A for easy or access and amenities. Plenty of areas to stretch your legs, walk the dog or get off the road for a nap. Defintely would stop here again.

Parking is usually plentiful, lots of space to get a meal outside of your vehicle (picnic), but be prepared for mosquitoes when it warms up in the summer. Bathrooms are usually clean and functional.
