After the work was completed, I was billed $650 -- only to find out the pre-authorization for coverage had actually been denied months earlier. Northstar submitted it, never told me about the denial, and then resubmitted the same paperwork multiple times after the work was done. Each time, it was denied again. When I called to question it, the office refused to take responsibility, saying they "can't manage every dual-insurance situation." Their only solution was to offer to transfer my records elsewhere. Please learn from my experience -- always double-check with your insurance company directly and get everything in writing before agreeing to any treatment here. This is a "puppy mill" for dentistry; you are in and out for a cleaning in 15 mins. You are a number here. Please know they pay you with gift cards to write a good review.

As someone who has worked as a dental assistant, I am very particular. I had put off finding a new dentist for quite some time. I met with an office member that couldn't have been nicer. As it can be embarrassing explaining this, she was companionate and stated there were a couple of hygienists who would be great for me. The day of my appointment I was nervous going to a new place and it had been so long but was okay because of the talk with the office staff. I went back with the hygienist who was friendly but it took a short amount of time for me to realize she knew nothing; she didn't know I hadn't been to the dentist in years, didn't know about childhood trauma, she had no idea I was nervous...... She was again friendly (smiling) but not a good fit for someone in my situation. She didn't explain things; yes a lot has changed over the years; I honestly sat confused how this appointment could have gone so wrong after being reassured when I made the appointment; a mistake had to have been made. I finally spoke up a couple of times asking questions especially when I was being taken to another room for an X-ray after having X-rays in the first room. I was clueless at what was going on and she wasn't explaining. When I got up from my chair I was sweating so bad you could see the outline of my body in the chair. I kept thinking when was it going to be over. Then another thing done I had never had done and didn't know what it was; I finally stopped her and asked her what this was. As she smiled, she would I'm sure be good for someone who goes to the dentist every 6 mo and knows the routine and doesn't need anything explained but in my situation, not a perfect fit. At that point I was thinking with the hygienist, I was never stepping foot in there again. But then I met Dr Hana; absolutely calming and compassionate. It was obvious he knew my situation. When I left, I left now torn about going back. I thought if I could just get a different hygienist I would be okay. Time lapsed past my 6 month appointment, I received emails, text messages and post cards to make an appointment. One day when I received a text message, I texted back about my experience. Stated I didn't know if I wanted to come back because of the hygienist but was thinking about coming back because the dentist was excellent. Attached is the response I received; then ghosted. I repeated that I didn't want to speak ill of the hygienist but not a good fit for anyone in my situation. I know for a fact as the employees are good, every employee excels in different areas. I was hoping since my initial office staff encounter was excellent and encounter with the doctor was excellent, a different hygienist would be a good resolution. I thought a mistake had been made. Instead it is stated they would reflect on what could have been done better? Not an attempt for a resolution? Not an offer of a different hygienist? Not I'm sorry, maybe she was unaware of my situation? Not, maybe there was a mixup with appointments and I received the wrong hygienist? I finally gave honest feedback hoping there would be an easy solution; a different hygienist. This puts more shame towards people that don't feel comfortable at a dentist. SO disappointed.....

I came across this one here on Yelp, and I am SO happy that I did. The dentists here referred me to Dr. Pasternak, their oral surgeon. I hate having my teeth messed with and I'm already anxious just going to the dentist for cleanings. Needless to say, I was so nervous about the procedure and possible complications, but she did an amazing job of explaining everything to me and making me feel safe. Some of my wisdom teeth were impacted, so the procedure required more work and was done under anesthesia (by my request, I wanted to be out of it). Everything went exceedingly well, I had no pain during recovery, and the incisions/holes healed with ZERO complications. Two years later I still think back on the experience and how grateful I am to Dr. Suzanne Pasternak for the skill and care she provided. I figured I should write a review since I still feel so strongly. The office staff were amazing too and were very helpful during all of my pre-procedure visits. After finding a new Dentist and visiting 1 other I was told by both Dentist that the work she provided should have cost me no more than $1,100.00 but was charged almost $2,300.00. (which was not covered by insurance) In my conversations with her office I was told that if wanted to speak with her regarding the work I would have to make an appointment for her to explain why she did what she did forcing me to pay for an office visit.
