Stupid me, once I ordered firewood from another company that advertised "kiln dried firewood" in Batavia but it wasn't! Wasn't anything close to what Geneva Firewood & Mulch sells! Tom at GFM is a really nice guy, keeps to his word when it'll (firewood) be delivered. I usually get 2 face cords of mixed hard firewood and it burns as advertised, lights easily and burns long with good fragrance. So why the 4 stars and not 5 considering the accolades I give them? They are a bit pricey but to me but it's worth having a good, hot fire during the winter months. Damn, maybe 4.5 or 4.75 stars is what they deserve! :) read more

This is the second year that we ordered 2 face cords of cherry from Geneva firewood and mulch .I wish we had found this company sooner, over the years we tried several in the area but the wood was not comparable and took for ever to start .I have face cord log racks that are more than full after delivery and the wood starts burning right away. Love this place, very friendly and convenient for pickup if have a truck or delivery if you don't. Local delivery is free with 7 yards of mulch or more. Well 7 yards was not enough for us so we went back and picked up 2 more yards in our truck and it took less then 5min! The quality of the mulch is excellent. High quality wood, dry, burns well, no bugs, no rot. Driver was on time. Got it delivered to the driveway and stacked it myself. I'll be using them again. Better wood, competitive price. I can't even fathom anyone giving Geneva Firewood (GF) less than 5 stars! I went there for the first time yesterday after the place I usually get my seasoned firewood from ran out for the season...and boy am I glad they did! GF gave me a very fair amount of wood for what I bought, and even helped me load it! Now let me talk about the quality of the wood itself! I have had a fire burning in my fireplace for two days straight and raving to anyone who will listen about how nicely the firewood caught, but didn't go up like toothpicks. It burned for a really long time and with big flames that smelled wonderful from the variety of kiln dried wood they use. I have purchased a lot of mulch over the years for personal use from Geneva Firewood and Mulch. I usually buy the colored product and need about 50-60 yards (over multiple loads) to cover what I need. I have typically been happy with the product and the service, but this year was an exception. While price and service were good, the product left a lot to be desired. Especially the last load this year, there has been a lot of debris, junk and chunks of metal in what they delivered. Updated: had another load delivered and it was a lot better than the last one. Much cleaner, few metal chunks. Maybe they just got a bad load. read more
