Sad excuse of news reporting. After recording a video and posting to FB while driving downtown Lake Geneva, (it was obvious by watching the video that several motor vehicle violations were made by the driver) and outright bashing a farmer for having to drive thru town, which is in no way illegal, the GSR removed said video from their FB page. It seems obvious that they could not handle the backlash from their own stupidity. A farmer, driving thru town, during spring fieldwork season, in rural Wisconsin isn't even news! read more

I had the distinct pleasure of visiting this piece of "deplorable Fly Over Country" and found it to be one of the nicest refreshing spots i have ever occasioned to learn about. The people are genuine, are engaging and make a visitor feel like they are welcome to their little piece of America. What i really found most interesting and engaging was the small locally produced Geneva Shore Report (GSR). This news report writes about the day to day struggles successes and sincere genuine concerns of local residents and business owners A Geneva Lake visit and introduction to the GSR, draws out how the tussles, imbroglios and food fights of the east/west coast elites, leaders and self acclaimed wise men and women, (vacuous self serving politicians), we read or hear about on news casts and major media outlets, seem pathetically small minded self serving and detached from what most of the country worries about and cares about. Local mid America communities like Lake Geneva. A key example of this disconnect is brought into sharp perspective around the land use policies of local jurisdictions for public use and private development that the staff of the GSR has written scathing? or cautionary? tales of the several Geneva Lake real estate projects and what is the best use as it would affect the city upwardly or in the direction of overbuilding on land that is a dwindling resource. One such land use local "discussion" the Geneva Shore Report has drawn a laser like bead on in clear stark terms, took me back to where I grew up in North Canton Ohio, home of the Hoover sweeper, (yes that sweeper). Like many Boomers I grew up in a time of exploding public interest in science, space and the newly discussed universe. GSR took me back to my youthful budding interest in astronomy when i read GSR's most recent news report about a piece of real estate on the local market that most Americans are aware of and likely heard about in a science class. From the distant past this piece of real estate has been called the birthplace of modern astrophysics. The YERKES Observatory is potentially up for sale by the decision of the University of Chicago's to divest itself of this very significant piece of Americana real estate that in many ways embodies the history of American science. As you can well imagine this is of no small concern to the residents, real estate developers and business owners in the local Geneva Lake readers footprint of GSR. Again local hot button events and changes that GENEVA SHORE REPORT draws out and discusses as the issues, concerns and interests in terms middle America can relate to, that gets Americans to invest in as local citizens that is important to them. Keep up the good work GSR of bringing people together and giving voice to what middle America really cares about, wants to know and providing the insight that promotes and encourages a conversation and a sharing of different opinions. read more

I really don't Know what GSR is doing to Upset those Complaining about it, but Its 50% informative about Projects going on In and around Geneva Lake and the other 50% is like watching someone's Home Movies..I like when Showed how toBeat the Parking System and park on the Free Parking areas if you can and how to avoid the $2 parking spaces.. And the Live reporting of What Goes on at the LG Boast Launch and the PT Employees that work there helping Visting Boaters and are Very good Embassadors for LG as well.. Be nice to Our Tourist!
