Our daughter, Penny, started in the youngest classroom at 1 1/2 and continued through the 2s class. Sadly, when her brother started kindergarten, the commute became too far for our family, and we had to make the difficult decision to move her to a school closer to home. We genuinely wish we could have kept both of our children at Little Flowers. Our family had such a positive experience here, and we are incredibly grateful for the care our children received. We would absolutely recommend Little Flowers Montessori to other families. This is the only school I actually had a bad experience. When you enter, every admin staff and teacher you greet is extremely friendly but don't assume that's what goes on when you're away. Our worst experience was when we were trying to move up our child from the 2's to the 3's class, They would not move him up because he wasn't potty trained even though he was very advanced for his age in every aspect. I've heard of many daycares requiring 4 year olds to be potty trained but not 3. And when we were transitioning and we were trying hard to potty trained and move him up to the 3 yo class (he was 3.5 and still in a class with kids who just turned 2!), he had small accident so instead of putting the extra diaper we kept on him, they put his pants on without an underwear for the rest of the day, as in "I told you so" message to me by the teacher/director. The director Vanessa was also abrasive and unkind about this whole transition process. Out of all the daycares in Pleasanton we've been to (The Child Day School, Global Village Montessori, St. Clare's, Sonshine preschool) this is the only one I tell my friends "don't do it".

I didn't ask for her help; I knew those were the fruits of the outstanding education she is receiving from the teachers and staff at SLP. SLP forms the "whole child." She is quick to point out letters and their sounds, just like they practice at school, and she actually has better handwriting than her siblings who are already in elementary school. Talk about TK and Kindergarten readiness! That isn't even the best part, though. The best part is how they treat each child with the utmost love, care, and respect. The teachers know every child by name and make them feel seen and genuinely cared for. I think that's why the kids at this preschool are so filled with positive attention and instruction; it simply spills over from their hands into their homes. This is such a special school. Before joining Beyond, we were trying to find a suitable preschool. We visited several so-called "Montessori" schools in the area, but none felt right. We knew we wanted an environment that respected children, encouraged independence, and nurtured curiosity; not one focused primarily on academics at such an early age. The chabot location is a co op school with individual schools, "heads up" compound. kids have a playground right out back with all the toys/bikes. The playground is fenced in. The classroom has a life size play house inside. The kids bathrooms are connected to the classroom, so the kids can go as they please. The whole school is gated up with a code for parents to get In so it's very safe for the kids. Overall, we've been very happy with them and recommend sensing your kids there!
