As a 70-year old male I've accumulated the "normal" aches and pains of aging. Recently I had to have my left hip replaced. In advance I saw Lisa Rothermich for acupuncture. Her treatments decreased pain and stiffness, and increased my mobility prior to surgery. After surgery her treatments coupled with excellent physical therapy enabled me to rapidly recover full use of my hip. Acupuncture is known for its ability to treat pain. It definitely helped me. Mindful of the opioid crisis (having just viewed "The Heroin Effect") I wanted to avoid using the surgeon's routine opioid prescription. I used ibuprofen no more than twice a day gradually decreasing, a healing meditative CD, and acupuncture. It worked. Fairly rapid healing with low pain (2 to 3 out of 10). Acupuncture worked for me. I have been having acupuncture treatment with Lisa,at Gentle Currents for over 3 years. I had never had acupuncture treatments before and was hoping it would help with my fibromyalgia and sinus problems.I was skeptcal at first,and decided to give treatments a try for a month. Fibromyalgia does not go away,but acupuncture has made my episodes much more tolerable and much less frequent. I am so thankful. When allergy season rolls around twice a year,acupuncture greatly improves the symptoms and duration of my problems.
