She combines massage, cupping, and traditional acupuncture into her treatments. She is also well educated in western psychology. She incorporates a sense of spirituality, while not being over the top & is always respectful. Joanna sincerely cares about each & every person that comes through her door. Joanna will take the time to get to know you, so that she can better treat each person as a unique individual. A session a Gentle Heart is a positive experience, with negativity being washed away. Gentle Heart is located in an office with a community of excellent massage therapists, estheticians, & skin care professionals. I have been getting acupuncture for years with Joanna at Gentle Heart Accupuncture, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon!!! For me, I get a combination of acupuncture, cupping, and a little bit of massage and it's helped me a lot. I like that Joanna is very laid-back and easy to schedule with, and always does a great job. Gentle Heart Acupuncture is an amazing and unique approach to acupuncture. A lot of acupuncturists I've gone to have been a little too aggressive, but Joanna is very different. Hence the name, she is very gentle and caring. I feel very taken care of every time. Joanna's intuitive and caring presence makes me feel safe. I barely feel the needles, and almost always fall right into a deep meditative state every time. It also helps that her office is very calming as well. Joanna Resnick is amazing! I went to her for anxiety, which helped tremendously, but that was just the beginning. I played a lot of sports throughout high school and college and I have very bad shoulders, meaning a lot of pain in my rotator cuffs in both shoulders. I had been treated weekly for about 4-6 weeks for anxiety and noticed that I had little pain in my shoulders. This was such a blessing because my line of work requires the frequent use of my shoulders. Today, about a year after starting acupuncture with Joanna, both of my shoulders are pain free. Amazing! Joanna is truly a gifted healer with a gentle heart and soul. I have been seeing Joanna since July 2015 for my scoliosis and the associated pain in my back and neck. I was initially diagnosed when I was 18 years old. I am now 46 and due to stress, age and life in general my curvature and pain was progressively increasing. I was diligent about seeing an orthopedic surgeon every 2-3 years to get x-rays and monitor the curvature and always inquired about any new technologies that would correct the curvature. Fortunately my curvature was never large enough to warrant surgery (started with 11 degree curve and last check up curvature was 38 degrees). read more
