My schedule is so busy that I don't have time to dig around with unprofessional people like this who can't substitute a stylist when one becomes unavailable. I thought that this place would be different because they charge you for the appointment and they charge you for your tip prior to booking the appointment. Vibe - definitely a spacious shop, there was nobody there when I went and they were able to take walkins which is becoming rare. I have a barber but was not open on the day that I really needed a haircut. Customer service - the barber who was already there had people coming in, but he was very nice and professional, great customer service skills and when his people arrived he talked to them and made sure he knew exactly what they wanted. Unfortunately he was NOT cutting my hair. The barber I had, not so good. Language barrier was there but that's not a reason for my issues. I'm very specific about my cuts, I explain what length, I explain my hair texture, my light spots, and I use my hands to describe how I like my tapers. I'm also descriptive about my facial hair. I have 4c hair with waves. I wash my hair before haircuts when I have time. I requested a high skin taper with a 1.5, lined up beard and debulk. Because of my waves you should cut with grain. When he asked again for the length I said "1.5 with the grain." What does he do, goes against the grain in the lightest spot of my hair. What does he do the beard, cut so low, I had a full beard on the cheeks, and he cut into the line! It's gonna grow back horribly. The Shop has potential but I will not be going back to that shop, particularly to that barber again. 50 dollars for a cut and you didn't listen to your customer, tried to speed through the cut, was gonna send me out with my guidelines extremely noticeable is absolutely horrible. And when I explain to him I can see the guidelines as a customer, that's bad. He never quite got it right. Now will I say you should never go again, no. Again the other barber was good. And maybe this barber don't cut enough 4c hair folks. But again, not getting my business again. read more

I recently had a "big chop" (4c natural hair) and have been looking for a new barber to see in the Lehigh Valley. After going to another barbershop and receiving a botched haircut (it was VERY bad), I asked a friend for a recommendation and she told me about this place. I walked in hoping that they could see me same day and Ashley said she could. She quite literally saved my life. She did an amazing job and could easily see and understand what kind of haircuts would look good for me. I couldn't be happier. I would not recommend having a beard trim and shape up at this Silk mill located establishment. After visiting there 2 times and whilst getting a trim - definitely not getting what I asked my stylist to perform, this 3rd (and last time) I will ever go there I made sure I told the stylist emphatically to keep the beard length, I pulled out my phone and showed him a picture of barbershop illustrated beard styles and the object I was aiming to grow - I Pointed out what I wanted, and the idiot completely ignored it. Turned my chair around so i could not see the mirror, started his work, only at the end did the chair swivel around to the mirror, only then did I see how much the guy halved the length of my facial hair. read more

Discovered Gentleman's when I moved to Easton. Just off the square downtown, GBS, exudes an old school barbershop feel. The staff is friendly and the prices can't be beat, for the service. The one thing that holds me back in giving a higher review is the wait. I applaud excellent service but when it comes at the expense of your customers waiting a long time, over experience suffers. The barbers are slow, between customers, to call the next person; checking their phones, chatting with coworkers. No sense of urgency what-so-ever. Taking the time with someone in the chair is one thing, lolligaging between customers when there's 8-10 people waiting is unacceptable. read more

I've been coming to this barbershop for about 12 years now. I started going when the only had two chairs in a small building that could barely even fit 10 people in it. Not only are the services the best you will find, they make everyone that walks through the door feel like family. I moved away for college and still don't live in the area, but every time I come back to visit, my first priority is to go to Gentlemen's. It's not a barbershop, it's a culture. Ron and I have known each other for a while now, along with a lot of my family, and everyone walks out happy with a great haircut and an even better experience. Everyone on their staff is inclusive, efficient, and welcoming. So not matter who you are and where you're from you won't have any problems fitting in. read more

Don't ever go to this place. Horrible customer service, the owner is racist. The owner wouldn't even make an eye contact with you and throw you an unlicensed rookie to mess up your hair. I am being serious. I am very very upset how I was treated with such rudeness and discrimination. I am currently a business corporate lawyer and I was seriously thought about suing this business for such action but didn't because I have at least an empathy for them. Guess what? After the rookie making a "Giant hole" on the side of my head, the owner said "try to make an appointment next time." After hearing that, I stood there stunned, and the owner threw me a piece of "gift card" to leave the place. Again, horrible place and they are racist and rude. I read other reviews as well, seems like some others are experiencing similar issues. I am all about helping the local businesses and all this kind of action should never be allowed. By the way, the amount of time the rookie took to mess up my hair was 2 hours, which means i had to sit in that barber chair for 2 hours without moving. I can be patient with that as long as possible. However, I cannot be patient with such behavior that doesn't even attempt to apologize for their misconduct. Regardless of their "good skills" for hair cut, their behavior and moral conducts are not even close to what it takes to be a business owner after all. Lastly, what truly infuriated me was that: there was an Indian male had his eyes covered with a brown towel with shaving cream all over his mouth waiting for the owner to give him the shaving service. I think the owner and employees assumed that I wouldn't understand Spanish (I speak fluent Spanish although I am not hispanic) and made sexual jokes about the shaving creams around the Indian male's mouth in Spanish between them while giggling hysterically. That is extremely inappropriate and discriminating action that must never be allowed in any kind of business environment. read more

I was running a little late got my first call at 11:33 and my appointment time was at a 11: 45 the second call was at 11:49 this is only 4 minutes I was 5 minutes away from the shop. This would have been my first time there I know it was the guy that made my appointment with me he did not want to hear it. This is not the way to treat a new customer that is poor customer service I was looking forward for a great experience with a new and local shop. But they did not need my money. I liked that they played music that was a little different than the normal neighborhood shop. My barber was really thorough and expert, like a martial artist at his craft. However, I was disappointed I was not able to put my $10 tip on my card, the owner insisted I tip via cash, and directed me to the ATM machine which has a $2 fee. He was a bit argumentative about it as well. My total cost was $27 for the cut. read more

I've been here 4 times now and am thrilled that a friend recommended it to me. I've had a different barber each time and they are all terrific and highly skilled. You can make an appointment online with the barber of your choice if you like but they're all so good that it doesn't matter who you get. They are always busy which is a very good sign. But they have 5 chairs going at once so the wait isn't too bad, even without an appointment. But plan on being there for a while as every barber takes their time and really makes sure you leave with an awesome haircut. read more

Very good experience when I got a haircut. I went because my normal barbershop went downhill. Very short wait time. The owner greeted me and told me who and how long it would take to get served. Everyone was very nice and pleasant. Haircuts are $15 which is a good price for the quality haircut I received. They even take credit cards unlike my old barber who only took cash. read more
