This was our favorite meal in Stockholm. We visited a few weeks after their opening, during…read morevacation time when many restaurants are closed. That meant we were lucky enough to be the only ones eating there! Several people sat at the bar behind us, where they serve the beer they brew and other alcohol. I have to avoid gluten and shellfish, and the menu easily accommodated me. Swedish menus often say to talk to the server if you have allergies, so they're nice about it. We had a delicious asparagus hors d'oeuvre with dots of browned butter emulsion (tasted like Hollandaise) on the plate. I had char with mushroom tapenade, beets, and new potatoes, and Tom had lamb with halloumi cheese, vegetables, roasted garlic gravy and herb baked potato. Both dishes were perfectly done. I am not enthusiastic about lamb, but this was the best I'd ever tasted. For dessert we had the chocolate truffles, which were also fantastic. Tom asked about the beer that they brew, and the server/bartender brought two samples. They were both so good, he had one of each. I am more of a wine drinker, but I thought the beers were excellent. Please try Waza! I would love to go back there some day, so if you like it, spread the word!

Found this pub in Old Town Stockholm when we went to watch some weekend football matches (European…read morenot American). The pub itself had a good vibe where everyone was friendly and genuinely enjoying themselves. The decor of the pub was a lot of a lot of pub signs and usual things that you would find in a pub. It has a small but pretty cool layout when you could go down some winding stairs and find yourself in another seating area. Because of the pubs popularity and game time it was very packed in the bar area but the bar tender did a good job of attending to everyone. As for the food I enjoyed the fries we had and the vegan burger was alright. As you know my ratings go off of the expectations of how the place rates against similar places so as old school pubs go this was good, but do understand that typical old school pubs aren't well lit, don't have all balanced tables, and great seating in the entire place to enjoy the game. So if you're looking for those things you might want to check out some other places.

Even though the main area where the band sets up is a tight squeeze, it helped us to make friends with locals fast and had a great time. The FREE music is awesome too. I hated the fact that the bartender measured my gin when I asked for a G&T, but what the heck! this is Scandinavia right? I need to pre-game at the hotel next time before going out.

It's not American-sized, so be prepared, it's about 75% size. Try a 4 beer flight, so you can get small batch with some of their larger, more popular brews. Also, get a t-shirt in the back, it's about $20 and looks great. We loved having Alfred (ginger, Viking-looking gentleman) as our server. Very clear and loud voice :)

The beer - from the core lineup, winner has the JACK, a session strength IPA that goes down so well on a warm day. Also top marks to their witbier, which was also very refreshing. 2. The food - sausage was tasty. Potato salad was superb. The deep fried pork was interesting, but I wouldn't repeat order. Smoked peanuts were also tasty, though one has to ask why season the shells of a peanut? 3. The venue - AMAZING! Easily the selling point. Beautiful beer garden right on the water. Lots of tables, outdoor bar. Really can't say enough about how wonderful and relaxing it was. Drawbacks: price. Like most places in stockholm, your wallet really feels the visit here. Lunch plus beer sampler plus 2x glasses (they don't don't do pints) of beer set us back SEK 780 (about $115 or £70). Definitely worth it, but not an every day event. Overall: if you're a fan of great beer and nice scenery experienced simultaneously, a definite must in Stockholm.
