I did not buy anything--I was on the hunt for antique jewelry--but there were plenty of lovely 18th and 19th century pieces, including some particularly lovely mirrors. I found Acquisitions to be a totally fascinating furniture and home decoration store. What makes it…read moreso fascinating is their unique collection of varying antiques from places such as Spain, France, England and even Sweden but I'm sure other places as well. They also have a reproduction collection line of their own they term their ACQ Collection with reproductions having been done in Italy. I was shopping for a lamp and trying to visualize how it would look with my other home furnishings. To my good surprise they had a person who handles their in-house decorator and design services who was able to assist me. So if you're looking for a little something out of the ordinary and not found in most other such stores, Acquisitions might be the place for you to go.

The most shocking thing I discovered, was a porcelain baby doll without eyes that was lying down inside a cabinet I opened, really gave me the creepiest feeling. Oh, they have reading glasses here for six dollars a piece, in a variety of strengths colors and designs. I found a clear pair which was awesome, and they also sell some French soap that smelled so good. I had to buy a bar there too. I'm crazy for the honey almond scent.
