Very nice tour and house of George Marshall. Tickets are not required in advance, and as I wasn't sure when I'd be in town, we just called to confirm they were open for a tour, and that worked out. Just look up the address of where to park (as it's in the back on a different street) and you're good to go. The tour starts off with an informative movie. The house stayed with Marshall's family until it became a public historical site, so all the rooms were just as he left them. The tour guide had a lot of good stories about the private life of Marshall, which was really interesting to hear about. I'm glad the house was preserved, despite it being in rough shape when the last family member sold it. It's a gem of a site. There is a very small gift shop section. The tours are a bit over an hour and totally worth it to visit. read more

I loved this place! Good docents made for a great experience. Highly recommend coming here. Each tour is led by a different guide, and has a slightly different experience based on their stories. But it was fascinating to really learn about the role George Marshall played in history, and about how impressive he was in putting Service over self. read more

Cool tour and education on the life of George Marshall. We bought prepaid tickets and arrived right at our time. The docent was a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman. We started with a 15 minute video and then proceeded with a tour of each room of the house. Everything was explained along with the family's visitors and family. The house is conveniently located in downtown Leesburg. There is parking in the lot next to the house. Be sure to follow the instructions on the website. read more

What an amazing man and his life even winning the Nobel Peace prize ! Definitely worth checking out and taking a tour! I'm so thankful to General Marshall for his foresight in reconstructing Europe as my mom is from Germany and she got out of Dresden in 1944 with her family after it was decimated with bombs!! Thanks to the US forces and Allies for saving Europe!! Our docent was great and the video introducing the General and his life was very good! There's a scavenger hunt for kids too. You can sign up for tours which are Friday- Sunday. Highly recommend you go and learn more about this famous American and statesman!!! read more

What a hidden historical gem in Leesburg! Initially, I balked at the tour fee, but it was worth every penny. Our docent, Cody, gave an amazing hour-long tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and completely engaging -- the three teens I had loved every minute. We'll done! The restoration work is truly outstanding and I love how they left some original elements -- portions of the original wall paper, for instance -- so you could compare it to the restored version. I'm glad my tour fee will help keep this house in operation, hopefully, for years to come. read more

The George C. Marshall House, also called the Dodona Manor, was the home of the family of General Marshall until 1959. Dodona Manor is open to the public for tours, but you should visit their website for updated hours. When we first arrived, we were a little confused about where to park, and we had trouble finding a volunteer who works there. The cost of admission was $10 for adult, $5 for student and kid, and $8 for senior and group member. We started the tour with a brief video of General Marshall's career. The tour lasted over an hour and was filled with lots of information about the name and architecture of the home, the Marshall family, visitors who stayed with them, and the belongings/contents. The Dodona Manor is a hidden gem, and it reveals a lot about the lifestyle of a great American hero George C. Marshall. The restoration was tastefully done, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. read more

The Marshall House is for anyone who is fascinated with History or for any veterans who knew about George Marshall. 3. I visited the House on September 10, 2016. 4. The Marshall House has every furniture and items that were collected by George Marshall. What makes up the site includes paintings from foreign dignitaries during his time as a World War II General and Secretary of State to Dwight D. Eisenhower. He had a collection of historical books like Confederate General Robert E. Lee. 5. The House's mission is to signify the relevance of General Marshall's retirement after the war. 6. I gave this 5 stars because the house had some exquisite antiques as well as the tour guide who explained every detail about the house. read more

We were in Leesburg for a wedding at the end of October and decided to take a tour of General Marshall's home. Our docent was Retired Colonel Thomas V. Mulrine who was exceptional. He gave us a very insightful tour into the General and his history. The artwork is truly to be treasured. I was really taken with the painting by Winston Churchill. read more

Delightful surprise! A lovely old home and gardens tucked in Leesburg. A welcoming, informed staff of volunteers shared with us the life of George C. Marshall. What a man! (I'm embarrassed to admit how little I knew about his guidance and influence, especially during WWII.) Truly interesting- and next door neighbors to a brewery! It was a great way to celebrate Father's Day. (Parking is shared with shops next door.) read more

Checked their website and called them on Friday to see if they are open. However drive over an hour to get there to find out they closed because of an event on Monday. Can't give any positive rating if one takes off last minute and expects professionalism. George C Marshall would be disappointed at that unprofessionalism too. May someday return after the sour taste and disappointment leave my mouth. read more
