I've decided to find a math tutor for my daughter when she was in 11th grade, since she struggled with math class at school. I am very happy that I found George. Short version: My son's SAT score went from a 1320 to a 1590. The college acceptances and scholarship offers he's been receiving these past few weeks have made us so thankful that we hired a tutor. Don't look any further than George. Long version: We hired George in the the Spring of my son's sophomore year to help boost his math SAT score. He scored well on the reading section and planned to attend a liberal arts school, but needed to increase his math scores in order to become a more competitive college applicant. Wow! Not only did my "reading guy" far exceed his goal and end up with an 800 on his math SAT, he also developed great confidence in his math ability and now plans to pursue an engineering degree! George was incredibly professional. He was punctual, friendly and always well prepared with new material. Our schedules were hectic and George's flexibility made it easy to schedule tutoring sessions around sports and activities, altering days, times and location as needed. Our concern with investing in a tutor was wondering whether our son would commit to doing the work, as his motivation in school tended to waver depending upon the subject and the instructor (call it selective laziness). And his mind was usually on baseball. We were amazed. He was incredibly receptive to George. George tutored both our children's preparation for Math SAT and ACT; first our daughter and then our son. Both our children saw marked improvements in their scores. In addition to higher SAT scores, their math confidence increased dramatically; consequently, they both achieved the highest math grades possible in school too. We used this tutor to help prepare our daughter for college and he was able to be flexible with times and meeting locations. Very patient and explains concepts well for teens. Our daughter's score did improve after one week of tutoring however, we were not able to let her test again (due to Covid) to see the full impact of several tutoring sessions. Prior to working with George, I was scoring in the mid-600s to lower-700s on the College Board's official practice exams. After working with him, I ended up scoring a 790 on the math portion of the real exam. George was very fluid with his curriculum, and adapted quickly to my needs and abilities.
