Nearly 3 months after, she had inquired as to the progress of her trust and was told that Mr Huffman had been "pulled away" to another project and would work on it soon. Nearly 2 more months went by without correspondence from him or the firm. My friend realized that her trust creation was of low priority to Mr Huffman, so she called to request a refund for the work not being completed. She was denied a refund, being told the work was (nearly) complete. With this extreme delay and lack of care shown, my friend had little confidence or trust in his work going forward. After having 6 months of her precious time wasted by Mr Huffman, she has hired a new attorney to create her living trust. I'm confused as to why any attorney would not consider it a priority to complete a living trust for their 77 yr old client? Why commit to the work, then not deliver in a timely manner? As there was no prior consultation, why did Mr Huffman insist she pay in advance of any work being done? These questions will be posed to the Oregon State Bar Association when her complaint is filed.

If you need legal help I strongly recommend calling him and speaking with him. After my disastrous experience with another lawyer, Mr. Newton organised and managed my case in an expert way. He did get the result I wanted and provided follow up advice and assistance. Christy in the office was very professional and friendly.

One of the lawyers, Joel K, is rude and condescending as well. I would not trust my company or personal legal issues with this group. They clearly laugh and smirk behind their clients backs and feel they are above the people who are paying them. I have no doubt they would be a talented group of lawyers, but am glad I did not get to the point where I shared my legal issue with any of them.

I reached out their office regarding setting up a small estate to settle some unclaimed funds…read more Scott C was helpful and knowledgeable about the process so I decided to use his services after discussing the potential cost. I did all the leg work in tracking down and obtaining phone numbers and addresses for the additional heirs and once all was completed including the county recording fee the total was a little over $800. This was acceptable to me as they did do a fair amount of work and I didn't have to take time off work to do anything. Then the check was received from the state lands department and I called Scott to discuss again how I needed to endorse the check and how to distribute funds. He told me I could do it myself or he would be happy to let me make it out to them so they could withhold their fees and also make the distribution letter so it was more official (which they did). All is well up to this point, or so I thought... (here comes the 2 star reason). They charged us an additional $500 to cut six checks and write a partial page letter that broke down the amount for each recipient. My frustration is that while they did help me through the process, to charge $500 for such a simple task (keep in mind he did zero research to find heirs and charged $800 for that) when discussing the options for disbursing funds he never once mentioned that it would cost an extra $500 to cut the checks. I felt we had established a rapport and trusted that he would've at least given me the cost (or an eso I could make a fully informed decision.
