Clean, spacious en-suite rooms with a massive comfy bed for £50 a night or less, dotted all over the country in convenient locations. Sure, you can't tell one from another once you're inside and I wouldn't stay in one for a proper holiday as I like a bit more homestyle charm, but if you're breaking up a long journey or need an overnight stay somewhere (the one at Watford North is great if you're going to the Harry Potter studio tour) then I'd always look at Premier Inn before any of the other budget style travel inns. Staff are always polite and pleasant, rooms are clean and comfy, there's a place to eat right next door if you need food. Job done.

The room had a special acoustic double glazed window to exclude the roar of the motorway. The bathroom had a high quality liquid soap that didnt visibly erode hands as inevitably happens in most hotels, and a separate soap dispenser in the shower cubicle with a creamy brand shower gel, that was conveniently attached to the wall. A massive and powerful showerhead made for one of the most pleasant morning showers ever, and a mixer tap in the sink finally allowed me to wash my face without any burns or frostbite. Service was fairly pleasant and breakfast had a fair amount of choice.

I missed the entrance as the website doesn't make it clear it's on this development but a quick spin round the next roundabout and I was soon there. The building seemed very new on arrival and the staff confirmed that it's a new hotel. The room was lovely with large comfy bed, nice LCD telly and a futuristic bathroom The restaurant area was busy the next morning for breakfast but the staff worked quickly. The nice hot English breakfast was served buffet style. This place is a bargain at these prices and I'll be considering this place as a base the next time I go to Alton Towers.

The only real complaint I have is that either they didnt have enough glass collectors working, or it was too busy for the staff to come around and collect the empty glasses - so people started leaving empty glasses everywhere and the place ended up with alot of smashed glass on the floor (and in the water feature!) But that complaint is minor, this place is one of the nicest places in Stafford.

I didn't get under the blankets once to sleep and the one meager fan in the room was expected to do quite a bit of heavy lifting to try and keep things reasonable. Loved having a pub downstairs for coffee and libation anytime of the day. I'd definitely stay again, just hopefully during a cooler spell!

We had a few drinks in the public bar next door which was very homely and welcoming yet lively and we went to bed very happy and excited. The outdoor areas are excellent and well kept. Above all, I would recommend this hotel to anybody above any 'chain' hotel as the rooms are exceptional and the service is personal and attentive. My only problem is that they don't do weddings!

Anyway here is where it loses its stars..first the double bed was actually two singles squished together so it dipped in the middle making spooning uncomfortable..the breakfast itself didn't look to be of a high standard for the money and most annoyingly we were not made aware of any construction work. After a late Saturday night the last thing I wanted was to have industrial machinery acting as my alarm clock at 8am. When we tried to check out there was no one there to complain to so we chucked our key into the pile. Overall the room was comfy but it lacked a good service..food and the unexpected noise..
