Dear Dr. Ryan Barrientos, MD…read more I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unprofessional conduct I experienced during a phone call with your office on October 28, 2024. I was referred by my primary care physician, Dr. Kaveh Samani, to schedule an appointment with Dr. Ryan Barrientos for a colonoscopy. During the call, I encountered behavior that I found to be highly unprofessional and disrespectful. After disclosing the reason for my visit, I overheard laughter from the staff. When I inquired about this, the response I received was dismissive, and my subsequent requests for information on how to file a complaint were ignored. This experience has caused me considerable distress, and I am deeply concerned about the level of professionalism within your office. I request an immediate investigation into this incident and appropriate measures to ensure such behavior is not repeated. I anticipate your prompt response to this serious matter. Number called 713 526-4263 Sincerely,Mr. Chaney

A cancerous ulcer had been identified in the lower portion of my stomach. Dr. Reddy immediately scheduled a follow up procedure and scheduled a Surgical consultation with Dr. Phillip Leggett. Twelve days later I underwent a Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass to remove the lower part of my stomach and the identified cancer. I am now 100% cancer free. Dr. Reddy and his wonderful team saved my life. The type of cancer I had typically does not present symptoms until it is to late. The second consideration of connecting me to Dr. Leggett provided much needed information and an amazing surgical team. I have been seeing Dr. Reddy for well over a decade as my family has a history of cancer. I have always found Dr. Reddy and the entire staff to be professional, respectful, and patient. I originally went to Dr. Reddy on a friends recommendation. I have never regretted that choice. I can assure you that I will continue to be a patient of Dr. Reddy for as long as it is necessary. He is a fine man, a brilliant doctor, and I will strongly recommend him to any and all. In fact I have already to many friend and colleagues.

At some point during the procedure I woke up! My arm was on fire, the pain was 10/10. I yelled that my arm was hurting me, help me, etc. I think I was awake 10-12 seconds before I went back out. Woke up in the recovery room. Dr Hamat came in and said the surgery went well, and told me the results and what was found. He asked me if I had any questions. I said, "yes, I do. What happened to me?" He said "apparently, someone ran your IV thru your BP cuff, and when it inflated during the procedure, it cut the meds off to your body." What? How does something like that happen? He told me it was an issue with Dr Wright, and If I had a problem, discuss it with him. I can't adequately descibe what it's like waking up to the pain and confusion I went thru. I thought I was going to die. I am now terrified to go under anesthesiology. They never brought it up post op. I had to ask about it. I guess they thought I wouldn't remember or think I was dreaming. How much more negligent can someone be? To add insult to injury, they just sent me a bill for over $700. I'll never go back. If you want to have anything done here, I'd think long and hard about it. See less

We are currently freezing in the examination room for 45 mins and no doctor. This is after waiting 30 minutes in front waiting area. I went out to ask what is the hold up and the assistant stated she needed 10 minutes to give me status!? Avoid this place if you can. I'm going to find my mom a different gastro, if you can't control your schedule I doubt you can keep up if time sensitive treatment comes up. Not a fan and will avoid this place. Update: We waited for about an hour in the room for the doctor. No doctor ever showed up. No apology for time wasted and complete disregard for the patient. I'm glad I went with my mom, she is the type of person who would just have waited hours on end. We are paying these doctors for service and they owe you respect for your time. At least they gave her a refund for her copayment. 0 stars and never again.

Writing this review for Dr Pedro Arguello of GastroTexas (on Yelp, only Christina Levings came up…read morebut she is a partner in the practice). The wait time is insane... not sure if it is always like this, but I arrived before my scheduled appointment and waited more than an hour to see the Dr. After I get in, I get my stats taken by a nurse, or I would presume nurse of some sorts, she wasn't very professional and told me to hold on to the machine while my stats were taken because the machine wasn't working right (it looked old and worn). After that, waited some more for the Dr. Dr comes in, I told him about my condition and what seems to be a stomach virus or bacteria of some sorts... he believed that was the case too and right away he wanted me to do blood works and a full on upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. He also wanted to prescribe me a 'mild' antibiotic to help with the condition... First off, the getting the 'scopes are quite invasive and also not to mention pricey as the first level of diagnosis... Second, he prescribes medication without knowing what kind of bacteria infection I might have. Decided against doing both and went for a second opinion elsewhere. The other Dr just ordered a stool sample first and didn't want to treat me with any antibiotics until we find out what was the cause... My decision saved me at least $500 and multiple days off work. Two stars only due to him being a nice polite guy.
