The park is a large, multi-use area with trails, playgrounds, and a dog park, with amenities like pavilions, restrooms, and concessions. It hosts baseball/softball tournaments, has a skatepark, disc golf, pickleball courts, and a memorial area with inscribed bricks for veterans. The park is ADA accessible and offers activities for all ages, including fishing in its ponds. There's so much here, I haven't yet explored all of it! One drawback is goose droppings around the walking trails so walk/run carefully! Altogether I can bear with all that as long as I get to share the park with the Canadian Geese!

There is not a playground here (sorry kiddos) but what you do find are many trails to walk and enjoy . You actually might not even see another person . This is a huge park with many trails intersecting one another. There are plenty of informative signs all around, benches and just tranquil scenery. How could you not like sitting beside a creek listening to the sounds of nature. Most parks miss the whole point of what a park is supposed to b. There is history around if you look hard enough . I have been twice so far and haven't seen all the trails yet. You will see turtles sunning themselves and colorful birds They have one bathroom at the entrance and a pavilion with picnic tables right beside the parking area. If you like nature (as I do!) , wildlife, and peace and quiet this is your jam. It is mine:) Now women word of warning I wouldn't come here by yourself straight up. The place is so huge and I'm sorry if you go on the long trails it could b dangerous. Just b cautious and observant. So this is a more of a wild park than people are used to. The parking lot is gravel. If you love to explore nature as I do! You should love it:) I love the history of this place which many parks erase or don't highlight enough (Alabaster cough cough) So take a water bottle, a snack, and love of exploring and go check this place out. Please though respect the park don't litter, and have some time in nature. Quietly please ... Some of us love to get away from the bustle of society and recharge in peaceful surroundings..I can't wait to go again :)

You remember those field trips as a kid? How every trip was the best because you simply got out of…read moreclass for a time and got to make memories with your classmates in a new place? That's the nostalgia here. It's apparent that this park is older, but we loved the character and charm it brought. There were many older signs, even older walkways not in use, but the scenery and birdwatching was beautiful. The kids stations dotting the trail, of times past, were fun to look at and even interact with. The creek was clean and had a trash filtering system in place. The trail was clean as well and mostly gravel/rock. Our favorite part was the creek's dam and manmade falls from it, and just when we are about to turn around we found it. Note that this is not a loop trail, but in and back out. We covered about 2/3 of it before turning around (sorry, it was Sunday off the cuff and we had dress shoes, did not pack our hiking shoes/boots). Only one mile, so 2 miles roundtrip! Flat and easy.

The way they haven't did anything to the stage for 2 months now. They haven't even started ..So now This is what you see while they are putting in the stage lol. Whenever they start lol. Don't get in a hurry okay . That will be used realistically in how many months of the year? We were told only the gravel road would b closed but this is what you see now. So ridiculous! This isn't really a park in the traditional sense. It's a bit of a catch-all. This area houses…read moreAlabaster Public Works Department, RC Club, Bird Observatory, and a community garden (which I think is now defunct). It's also where you can find the Recycling Drop Off since the city no longer has curbside pick-up. It's a bit of a drive from most of Alabaster, so I usually wait until I have a fair amount to take out there; great if you have a place to store it in the meantime. There are two large bins. The rollback on the right is for cardboard only. It used to have a sign to that effect, but I didn't notice it this time. The bin on the left has several doors, with each one labeled: Metal, Plastic 1 and Plastic 2, and Paper. I'm pretty sure the bin used to have interior walls that separated the sections, but they haven't been there the last few times we've been. So everything eventually mixes together, and as you can see from the pictures, people just kind of put whatever in whichever door. I do, however, appreciate the option to recycle in some capacity. The sign out by the road doesn't include the Recycling or Public Works, so you have to keep an eye out for the entrance.

The playground equipment wasn't new but it seemed to be in good condition. I love that it wasn't overcrowded with crazy kids, but my kiddos did get bored pretty quickly with no one there to play with. Not a bad little spot if you want to avoid a crowd!
