Honestly, we didn't expect much from a café inside a bowling alley, but we were completely wrong. The menu offered plenty of choices, and our server brought us a sheet with the daily specials. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with potato soup, and my husband went with the BLT and potato soup. The soup was outstanding thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. Both sandwiches were fresh, delicious, and served with a side of pickles. The manager also stopped by and was very efficient and kind, which really added to the great experience. We thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the service, and we'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes! read more

Portions for breakfast as modest, if not on the small size - no need for a to go container. Service is traditional diner type, friendly with character. This was a diamond in the ruff coffee shop. It's attached to a bowling alley which makes you think to pass right on by. I went with the reviews and it did not disappoint. Took my elderly parents here after an appointment. They had liver and onions and I had a gyro, and we all had the beef barley soup. All was excellent. Great place for breakfast! They always acknowledge you when you walk in and find you a seat quickly. All the servers are friendly and helpful. They help you with special requests and always find the cheapest way to order them. Seating is comfortable and they have interesting, local artwork on the walls and most are for sale! Had there liver and onions special, to go. When I got home the 1 piece of liver was burnt and black on the outside and as tough as nails on the inside, had absolutely no taste,the baked potato was dry, and no butter provided, as well as napkins, or anything else. The past few weeks I'd been asking the Universe to find a nice coffee shop in the area which reminds me of the Greek coffee shops and diners prevalent all over Long Island. After visiting my doctor in the Sun City Area near Boswell, I googled George's Lakeview Cafe, saw mostly five-star reviews, and determined it was time to eat at a place where the cheeseburgers actually taste good. So we went to George's (ironic that the one of the former owners of the Centre Coffee Shop in Plainview, New York was George. So this restaurant is actually located inside a bowling alley, so we went inside and discovered - a crowded place (which bespoke of good food and good turnover), a menu which is perfect for the demographics that eat here (myself among them), friendly staff, friendly waitresses, and a genuine feeling of a warm, cozy coffee shop, and with Angus bacon cheeseburgers (delicious), cole slaw (the real deal), and my wife and I split a large plate of onion rings. The food is very good, the parking lot has exit access to a cross street with a traffic light for those making a left turn heading east on Thunderbird. This also seems like a venue where if you have the slightest problem with your food or order, the general manager is more than happy to rectify the problem - the manager didn't come off as stand-offish at all, but was friendly, smiled while we checked out at the cash register. It's no surprise at all that this cafe gets mostly five-star reviews. And coming into the cafe through a working bowling alley reminded me of the location of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. TV series, where the agents enter through a New York City tailor shop. We'd definitely come back again. read more

Talk about a throwback cafe. Liver and onions, meatloaf and chicken fried steak on the menu. If I hadn't known better I would have sworn that it was 1978. I haven't seen frozen mixed veggies served in a restaurant probably since then! Lived in AZ for 8 years, originally from Pewaukee, WI. I know fish fries. Ordered walleye. Wasn't walleye, but can't prove it. The fish was mushy, which walleye isn't. Wow! Food was so bland and it took ten minutes for anyone to speak to us. I guess I shouldn't expect great service from a bowling alley diner though. I got the NY strip and eggs. Asked for medium rare and got what can be best described as a baseball mitt. After taking a few bites then just eating the eggs and hashbrowns drowned in ketchup to give them a flavor. I asked for my check. The waitress asked if the meal was good ( probably noticing I barely touched the steak) I said "it was good" to avoid any sort of confrontation. And as she walked away she said "wow that steak looks pretty good to me, I would've ate it." Loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. Needless to say I'll never be going back to eat or bowl. I wish I got a picture of the steak but I don't like to make a scene and rarely leave reviews but this was just the worst experience I think I've ever had. The snark at the end topped it off. This place is gross. And never the same. They only buy what's cheap and on sale, so the ingredients are rarely the same. For example for the fish fry they buy the cheapest so it's always different and you can taste it. One day l actually saw the owner unloading food from the back of his truck. Yuck! read more

GREAT WALLEYE Although we live in Sun City, we had never visited George's until I happened to notice a sign advertising "Walleye." Having grown up in Chicago I was aware of how excellent walleye is. At George's the all-you-can-eat walleye is less than $15 and includes salad, potato, and coleslaw! We have become regulars Wednesday and Friday. Hunting for a new place to eat breakfast on Sunday mornings. Read reviews and George's looked promising. We entered through the bowling alley. There were tables set up for large parties in the area of the bowling alley. The place was fairly busy but we got a seat quickly. A party of 8 was not pleased we got seated before them but our table was a booth for 4. I ordered beacon and eggs and my wife got an egg and took my toast. The food was good the coffee was good. The service was friendly and good. So why a 3? For some it would be a 4 or 5 but I just did not fill like I belonged there. Nothing they did, just me. Was this their fault? No. and I will probably go again to see how the second visit goes.. If you are looking for a place, at least for breakfast, give them a try. It may be just the place you are looking for. read more

My first time there. ordered meatloaf Luncheon special. Not great, but okay. large portion of meat. Server was great. The problem came when i asked for a to go container for my soda. after paying $ 2.99 for the soda, they wanted $.50 for a cup to go, which i think is ridiculous. I complained to the management, who was very nice but said that it was the owners rule. Of course the owner was in Greece. How convenient. I guess you can afford trips to Greece when you gouge your senior customers who are living on a fixed income. Shame on you. As we left thru the bowling alley, I noticed that the soda machine had a large bottle of Pepsi foe $1.25. Won't be going back there or to the other location. read more

We love buying their specials on a take-out basis. The ladies always provide our orders with the condiments & extra gravy up our request. Our latest issue has to do with their prime rib & short ribs. For a long time, we were getting ribs that were meaty & delicious, but, as of late, all they asked to be serving are short ribs consisting of very little meat and mostly cartilage. These are terrible & very messy. The flavor of their prime rob is very good, however, our last 3 I urchases have consisted of 2/3rds and even 3/4ths fat & very little red meat. We don't eat the unhealthy fat, so, when we trim away the fat, there is really very little red meat. Other nearby restaurants serve a much better quality of prime rib for the same price that has very littlebl perimeter fat. I'm wondering why the cook/chef doesn't realize what they are providing to their customers. They could at least trim off the gobs of fat & provide another piece of the red meat. The au just is excellent, but, often very skimpy, also. Best to ask for two servings in the small plastic containers or a larger styrofoam container. But, if youbget a slice that is 2/3rds or 3/4ths fat with very little red meat, the single half-full plastic container will suffice. But, the flavors are excellent. We just wish the person plating the to-go bix looks at what they are serving. Perhaps they do and think that by the time the patron gets home, opens the box, & looks inside, it's too late to ask for a better piece. Who knows? It's probably better to take the time to check inside the box before we leave. Their beef tips and noodles are excellent. But, just as of the last. Ou I le of months, thumbs down on the short ribs & prime rib. They can do better if they want to. read more

Really enjoyed the Spaghetti & Meatballs here. Sauce and meatballs taste made from scratch and the portion is large with 6 nice tasting smaller meatballs. Garlic bread is potent and fresh grilled as I like it. Ribs were pretty good. Tender fall off the bone and tasted baked or maybe boiled with bbq sauce added after cooking. Mixed veggies were average and probably canned or frozen. Nice baked potato with plenty of butter and sour cream provided. Service was very attentive and friendly on both visits.
