It's a Philly thing

Love this place, been going for years. I miss living in the area. They have the the best water ice in the area and they are dirt cheap.

This use to be my regular water ice spot but this summer I've been venturing out. Its fine but nothing out of the ordinary. They have the typical flavors from "around the way". Today I went the crowd was a bit chaotic and rambunctious, nobody knew who was next, people are coming in from both doors, no order. The staff is fine, after giving my order the girl said IS THAT IT! Hmmm.. It just may be.

Pretty good water ice and a wide selection of unique flavors. Reasonable pricing as well. Always a crowd...but worth the wait.

A bit of a trek but IMHO it's better than both rita's and john's water ice--less sugary/sweet and fresher/fruitier!

This place is so cayute! Helpful staff. They noticed we were first timers and they explained menu…read moreand how to order. They have good amount of pints 'to go' a TON of toppings and VEGAN OPTIONS!!! Open space, tables to sit down and eat. Clean large bathroom too. Now the dessert creations were impeccable. Fresh waffle cones and fresh toppings. I kept it simple with a pecan crumble on vegan vanilla. Wifey got a strawberry 'something' with pieces of cheesecake. When I tell you they are precise with the placement of the toppings to ensure you have even bites--- I mean it.

Each visit is a discovery of new deliciousness and temptations for the tastebuds. Last time I went with a decaf affogato with vanilla softserve, the classic. SO GOOD! 5*/5. I've been dreaming about getting it again so finally went today. and was immediately distracted by their extensive hot chocolate and drinking chocolate menu which now I need to go back and try. While I thought I'd go for the classic decaf affogato, I was enticed by the espresso X version which includes a warm chocolate chip brownie, hot fudge, rice krispie sprinkles, and the decaf espresso (at my request), vanilla and chocolate twist (other options just vanilla or just chocolate) - for the same price as the classic. How could I resist? Amazing - 5*/5 I have yet to try something at Lu & Aug's that isn't outstanding.

Sweet Indulgence has been popping up on my timeline since I have tried a few cinnamon roll places,…read moreso you know I wasn't going to pass this up. It's a small, black woman-owned bake shop. The cases were filled with all kinds of treats, but on Saturday and Sunday, that's when you can get the cinnamon rolls. They open at 11 am. I was 3rd in line, but I also pre-ordered. I got the 6 pack which allowed you to get 2 of each type of cinnamon roll. I wish the 4 pack allowed to you make a selection of what type you wanted. Maybe she could consider doing it. They were warm and smelled so good. Ok, so let's talk about the cinnamon rolls I got. "The Classic " was very good with the right amount of glaze, and tasted like homemade. 5/5 The "Sweet Potato" was the standout for me. It was flavorful with just the right amount of sweetness and freshness. The sweet potato complemented the bun and matched all of the each ingredient flavor for flavor. 5/5 The " Peach Cobbler" was the one that was my least favorite. Not because it wasn't good, but only because I prefer apple pie. But how you gonna go and not try them all? 4/5 Sweet indulgence is a special place. Everything is made fresh and loaded with a bunch of OOEY GOOEY GOODNESS!!!! Til we eat again...

The establishment was very inviting, decked out in a pink and black decor, very cute, clean and bright!! The display cases were very clear and enticing, as there were soooo many cupcakes, slices of cake, pies, and cookies. There was a special on cupcakes 2 for $7 which was not bad, I got a banana pudding cupcake and a carrot cake cupcake. (One to keep & One to give away lol I could've hung around that much goodness for longer but I was too tempted, lol I will be back. Just when I thought I was done, I was met with the Sweet Indulgence favorite: Cinnamon Rolls!!! I had to buy one, it was huge!!! Easily 2-3 ppl could have a nice portion. I bought it to share and so grateful I did just that. My order came to about $14, which was pretty reasonable. My family who had the banana pudding cupcake enjoyed, they said it was sweet enough and the cake was highlighted as the star of the show. I enjoyed the carrot cake cupcake, it was a nice balance of carrot cake and the sweet cream on the top. I shared the cinnamon roll and am awaiting feedback, I'm sure it was great! (Will try next time I visit, oh there will be a next time) Amongst all of this good stuff , what really stood out for me was the customer service!!! As soon as I walked up I was greeted by a young lady who didn't just ask if she could help me, but she actually stayed with me the entire time talking me through what I may or may not have wanted since it was my first time. She truly blew me away with her sincerity, friendliness and attentiveness from start to finish. I should've gotten her name, unfortunately I didn't but I will when I visit again. It was most certainly encouraged by receiving such great customer service by a young person, she may have been a teenager. Young people get such a bad reputation sometimes but this young lady could teach customer service to folks double her age. Bravo Sweet Indulgence!!! See you next time

I always get one when using my card -- it's important if there's a discrepancy -- but with cash for something I won't be returning, why bother? Here's what I learned: at the bottom of the receipt is a link to a survey. If you complete it -- it takes five minutes and the employee gets credit -- you'll receive an email for a BOGO bundtlet. That's $6 off! Try it! You're welcome! (lol)

S'mores made with Hershey's Bundt Cake: Nothing Bundt Cakes (NBC) has become one of my favorite…read moreguilty pleasures. I especially enjoy their individual sized "bundtlets". Although I would define camping season in WI as summer through fall, this latest limited time flavor is only available from 6/2-7/13/25. Opening the container, the cake itself had a dark brown/black color. The official description is a rich chocolate cake baked with Hershey's milk chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and graham cracker crumb, drizzled with silky chocolate sauce, and topped with buttery graham streusel (and of course their delicious, sweet cream cheese frosting). As usual, the texture is superb, with one of the best aspects of their cakes being the exceptional moistness of them. In this case, the chocolate syrup contributes to the moistness factor. The flavor leans toward chocolate, but the marshmallow element is clearly present throughout. I personally enjoyed the contrasting texture from the numerous chocolate chips baked into the cake. Graham, while present, is sadly overshadowed by the dominating chocolate flavor. The overall flavor does still convey thoughts of the classic campfire treat. Initially I was worried the sweet cream cheese wouldn't work well with the chocolate, but it was alright (although I think it does work better with some of their other flavors). Don't get me wrong, this was a tasty creation, but I think it might have worked better as a graham flavored cake baked with Hershey's milk chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and graham cracker crumb, drizzled with silky chocolate sauce, and topped with marshmallow flavored frosting. Still, one of the best new flavors I've had from NBC. Doughboy approved My top bundt cakes: 1. OREO 2. Confetti tied 3. Churro Dulce de Leche 4. S'mores made with Hershey's Doughboy_Food_Reviews
