    Sundae

Excellent ice cream. I did have an issue with the serving size of the ice cream sundae. Tons of whipped cream but small scoops of ice cream. And, I would have preferred eating the sundae out of a glass bowl versus the small, plastic disposable bowl. One of the servers was delightful, the other young server was having an awful day. She scowled at us while we ordered and while we were seated indoors.

Amazinggggg cookies. Literally AMAZING. You can get a pound of cookies for like 20 bux, and they are the perfect size. They have these black and white cookies that are half chocolate chip and half double chocolate with walnuts. I wish they had more water ice flavors- they currently only have three flavors. The ice cream list is SUPER long. This is a classic spot- great place to bring your kids!

Sometimes it's good to let the kids run the store. On this evening I was cheerfully greeted at 9:45 by three nice teen girls. They were nice considering the store would be closing in 15 minutes. The young ladies were very gracious in answering my questions and helped me decide on one flavor out of so very many. I'm so glad they told me about their favorite. Graham Slam, it's mixed with chocolate dipped crispy graham crackers. Boy was it good! While paying for my ice cream I got a couple of small soft chocolate chip cookies. They were pretty good also. The atmosphere is similar to a old fashioned ice cream shop of the 60's not 50's but more modern. During busy hours I'm sure parking will be at a premium. Since this is a nice friendly neighborhood spot near so many other things to do it's worth the visit.

had to try the cookies.. .

This cool shop is located in the heart of Havertown. Brookline Blvd hosts a bunch of cool tasty places with plenty of off-street parking (metered by town). Passed by this place when we visited St Jude so we decided to go back on a hot summer night. We were definitely not alone as the place was packed with at least 2 dozen other people. They are known for their cookies so we had to sample them. We had a few chocolate chip cookies and they were just ok to me. I prefer the soft batch and these were on the hard side. We also had ice cream. My son had a chocolate soft serve cone which he enjoyed. Hubby had a chocolate shake which he also enjoyed. They make it with fresh chocolate ice cream which is what he prefers (others use the chocolate syrup stuff). I had a cup of the strawberry ice cream which was great. I ordered small but it was a nice size which made me full. There were a few benches out front which we utilized along with the trash cans. The staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back for more ice cream.

I love this Havertown ice cream spot. Delicious hand scoops of creamy ice cream in house made waffle cones with sprinkles hits the spot on a hot day. They also have soft serve ice cream and Italian water ice. My real favorite is the house made cookies. Soft cookies in a variety of flavors. Today I had a chocolate covered chocolate chip and a oatmeal raisin that went well with my rum raisin cone. They sell the cookies by the pound and will put them in a tin or you can order several sized trays for a party. If you are in the area stop in and get some. Count the calories tomorrow.

So the rumor was that Koffmeyer's had opened on that funky little block of Brookline Blvd in Havertown. I stopped down around lunchtime to check it out and yup, there it was. It's a tiny little place and when you walk in it feels like just what it is; a small town ice cream shop. It looked to me like it was family run. There was a mother baking cookies and several young teenagers dipping ice cream and serving customers. I'm tough to please when it comes to ice cream shops because I've worked in Olde City and visited Franklin Fountain several times. That's about as good as it gets. I perused the menu boards. I saw shakes, sundaes, cones, and pints in many flavors. Also lots and lots of cookies. There was chocolate chip, macadamia nut, peanut butter and others. These are the half dollar size cookies sold by weight. One half pound will cost you about $5. Speaking of $5, that's also the cost of a pint of ice cream and I chose chocolate raspberry. I headed home to share my treat with the lovely wife. I had high expectations and sadly they were not met. My ice cream was good but not great. It was rich with cream and that's good. I immediately tasted the raspberry but not the chocolate. That's not a good thing. There were also a lot of ice crystals which is often a bad sign. Over all it was OK but for a premium price, in little Havertown, I expected more. I love supporting local businesses so I'll be back to try the cookies and maybe try the ice cream once again. For now I'm going with three stars and the hope that my next experience is better.

It's a great little, locally owned ice cream shop that just makes you feel happy when you walk in. You more than likely will have to wait in line before you order, but I always use that time to decide what I want. They have a large variety of ice creams, shakes, homemade cookies.. the usual ice shop assortments. One of my favorites is an ice cream sandwich with the homemade cookies. They also have a good selection of candy toppings. Sometimes I wish they were open later so I could grab some late night ice cream after a night at McGillicuddys. Overall, it's worth the visit. It's great atmosphere, service, and most of all ice cream!!!

If I could give a worth reading I wired the cone is so small and it's called giant and it doesn't fit the thing that holds that you know like the rapper

While I thought I'd go for the classic decaf affogato, I was enticed by the espresso X version which includes a warm chocolate chip brownie, hot fudge, rice krispie sprinkles, and the decaf espresso (at my request), vanilla and chocolate twist (other options just vanilla or just chocolate) - for the same price as the classic. How could I resist? Amazing - 5*/5 I have yet to try something at Lu & Aug's that isn't outstanding.

Spent almost $50 on candies and treats, and firstly all of the "bulk" candy was clearly stale and had been out for a long time. My partner and I also purchased treats called "thin mints" (which any google search would tell you thin mints = girl scout style cookie treat) but when we opened them at home they were peppermint patties, a completely different treat and not something either of us like. We went back today to see if we had been given the wrong thing or if they could help us, and the woman there (assuming she was the owner/manager by her demeanor) was so so unprofessional and dismissive! We walked in and no one greeted us, the "owner" woman was at the register on her cell phone talking and turned away from us upon walking in. After a few minutes a young girl came out and helped us, so I explained the miscommunication the day before. The owner (note, she was also in the store the day before during our initial transaction) interrupted to explain in a pretty condescending way that they meant something different by "thin mints" and that we clearly did not know. She then got back on her phone and turned her back, clearly did not care that a customer was unhappy. I explained to her employee that this was clearly a miscommunication and can they help us with switching to a candy we like or give us a refund, and she quickly refused and offered no other path to making the situation right. So disappointing to want to support a small business, just to realize they completely don't care about what they are selling or who they are selling to. Seriously, go to the Head Nut candy shop in town instead.

But as far as the yogurt itself, I really enjoyed it. It was flavorful and very dense. The cold-straining process created that denseness, which to me is better than the texture of regular yogurt. You can customize your toppings to make for a very satisfying treat. The base price for a yogurt bowl is a little pricey ($13 for our customized bowl), but it was enough for a family of four to share after a meal; and no one cried for more 'dessert'. Cute store. That's why I was extremely disappointed the two times I have tried Crumbl cookie and both were from different locations. The most recent was the one closest to my home, from the spot in Broomall. My older daughter LOVES their cookies. She sucks with food and generally doesn't know what's she's talking about when it comes to deliciousness. However, she brought a box home and insisted that in try their cookies again, and after some cajoling, she was able to annoy me into giving them another shot. Once again, I was unhappy I decided to try them. I have come to only one conclusion after repeated attempts to enjoy their stuff...that Crumbl cookies simply aren't good. They're just not good. Yes, cookies alone, even just the concept makes them good and that's why there is some inherent value to their product. But these cookies are just dismal. There is nothing unique to them at all. They do offer some differing selection, but ninety percent of their "varieties" are simply sugar cookies with different icings or toppings piled on top. That is a flat cake with no rising agent and different sugar contents. They are also never hitting the sweet spot of texture in my opinion either; too dry and crumbly, or almost like uncooked dough inside was my experience on both occasions. If that's your thing, then you will probably love this, and that's great! Go support them. However, as a cookie lover, I cannot in good conscience, justify spending the insane amount they are asking for non-cookies that are just flavored icings on top of a sweet baked puck that lacks heart and soul, an essential part of what you can taste when you have a cookie that has had real love and effort put into it. You can tell that Crumbl at one point had a vision that was wonderful. What it seems like is that it became a trendy place that then gained popularity due to its difference and its dedication to making everything hyper-sweet instead of truly savory and delicious, very much catering to the very young. There is nothing wrong with that, but I guarantee you somewhere along the way, the true bakers behind this brand lost their way, sold out to the hype, and it is now a apple-store clone sellout slinging crappy cookies that just aren't really "cookies". Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them for the desserts they offer, although their staff is very nice and excited about their products in my experience and their stores are very clean. Almost too clean, like pharmaceutical manufacturing bright white antibacterial clean blank spaces which is very off-putting. Instead I would say make some cookies on your own and learn the beauties of making some of the best cookies you've ever had, or checking out some of the other parties in this same space. However, if you LOVE icing and gigantic monstrosities that are priced more like a full meal for a night out at restaurant, and really want that whole experience, this may be the place for you. As always, I am open to having my mind changed, but this has violated a core value I have with my beloved cookie, and after two tries, I still don't like the cookies or their model. Convince me otherwise! I would really like to enjoy them like everyone else seems to.
