As a student from Landon I have this opportunity to share my feelings about Landon. Landon is a…read moregreat school that prepares great men. But, it is ridiculously overpriced for its elementary and middle school years you would be better off waiting until high school to save your $240,000(If you start from 3rd grade it's 40k a year). It has great opportunities for all. The schools discipline is vey dumb they act like your breaking the law with their dumb codes they think the kids care about (which they don't). They do a good job with teaching and education is quite good. They also have green slips which makes you feel you did something horrible and it gives you major anxiety to tell your parents( That is middle and high school). After a while you tend to just not care and you learn to lie and not tell on people when encouraged to. Their sports are one of the best things about Landon with all the options. Classmates at the school are mostly nice but as you stay longer you see the divided groups of the "cool" kids or the "weirdos". Bullying happens and some of the kids are real douches. The lunch is probably better than public schools but repeated and not the best. Some of the teachers are the best while some are scummy and you learn simply nothing from them. Also, the small classes are a plus. Overall Landon is a good place and definitely a place people should try after better schools. This review was affected way too much by my time at Landon cause it's kinda been shit but that's all.

Poor girls are not allowed to wear warm tights in winter, instead they have to go with bare legs when it's freezing cold. Is that normal? Teachers wear pijamas, that's ok, but little girls can't wear tights? Why the child isn't allowed to bring even warm tea for lunch? Ice water is ok but warm tea is not, in winter? The teachers have very poor level of behaving and education (mostly online). Constantly collecting money in something else. Don't send your child there!

I came to find Fernwood through word of mouth in my neighborhood. Several of my neighbors…read morerecommended the school, highlighting the benefits of the Montessori principles and the dedicated staff that go above and beyond to support the growth and development of the children following this methodology. It sounded too good to be true and so I did my due diligence and setup an in person tour before I made any decisions. Ms. Shaheen led the tour, I was pregnant at the time and in tears at the thought of my son being away from home for the first time (2 at the time). The amount of care and patience she took with answering all of my questions without being pushy or short ultimately led to my decision to enroll my son. Here I am, two years later and my older son is thriving. He is able to learn at his own pace with the full support of the teachers and supporting staff. Every single staff member knows my name and my child's name. My younger son is enrolling this Fall and I am feeling confident knowing both of my sons will be with staff that I love and trust. If you are hesitant, do yourself a favor and schedule a tour to see for yourself why Fernwood is such a special place.

Holton-Arms runs a summer camp called, "Creative Summer "at their spacious private school. They…read morehave excellent counselors and a phenomenal variety of activities. They offer hip hop dancing, science activities, yoga, knitting, and ceramics. That is just a few choices. They have a spacious campus and are very well organized. This year, I attended the dance recital and it was really entertaining. The kids love the camp. Drop off and pick up are well organized as well. They have a lower camp for younger students and upper camp, for older students. If you are looking for a great summer camp, I highly recommend it.
