i've seen several reviews criticizing dr nguyen for her "bedside manner." i'm a retired optometrist, and so very aware of a doctor's manner. i found her to be pleasant and informative. some of her reviews say the information had to be dragged out of her...i did not experience that. i only agreed to see her bc the owner docs didn't have an available appt for months. i don't regret my choice. she thoroughly explained my treatment choices and worked with me to maximize my insurance benefits. i'm more than satisfied with her and would send my family members to her. no fifth star bc the front desk personnel seemed a bit snippy. and appt times are not requested by the patient, they are assigned by the staff. read more

Extremely disappointed in this place. PA Eric Graber is dishonest, writes things in your records that are a lie and when you give him important information he ignores you. I was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and told him but its not documented on my records. They haven't bothered to try to find out what is wrong their just assuming its from a chest tube I when I was in the hospital with pneumonia. No x-ray, MRI, CT or physical exam. Just listened to my lungs. Want me to do a lung test. How is a lung test going to tell you about the pain I'm having? Even better a CT scan of my lungs was sent to them a week ago and I was told they haven't had time to look at it. My rheumatolgy dr needs them to look at it to see what or who will be treating me. read more

I am a Veteran and was referred to this office by Community Care after my pulmonary doctor in Temple died. The first thing that the worker said to me when I called was that they expected cash payment from me personally, as they don't do insurance or something. This place must really despise Vets. They don't accept TriWest because they cannot be bothered to help Veterans... not profitable enough for them since they cannot just charge whatever overpriced nonsense they want to. read more

Was referred here through my insurance maybe 4 years ago. Saw Dr. Angela Nguyen for my asthma. She didn't perform any breathing tests. Prescribed medications and inhalers that didn't help. Saw an asthma specialist a year later, the awesome Dr. William Howland, and he sd she had me on medications geared towards COPD and not asthma so no wonder I didn't feel a difference. He changed my regimen and I feel SO much better thanks to him. Lesson: be your own advocate for your health. Go for second opinions elsewhere if you still don't feel good. I'm so glad I did. I'm 68 and I've been to many doctors & specialist through the years also 15 years in wheelchair. I have never experienced an unprofessional group as I did with Dominic De Keratry M.D. Georgetown Pulmonary Associates, PA and staff. When I check in for my appointment 1/28/20 Before I could see the Dr they need my full Medicare deductible of $198.00. I mentioned I was at my urologist that morning and I paid for part of my deductible. The office manager said no I'm sorry we collect the full amount here at this time. I said I have already paid a portion of that deductible. Her reply we'll let it go this time ???? I paid $124.21 the balance of my deductible. I called Medicare after inquiring information about my deductible. My deductible was already covered. I called the Dr office and requested my check of $124.21 to be returned. They said no its patient reasonability and you are getting only $40.00 returned. Needless to say, I finely received my full refund 4/30/20 after many calls to the billing department. This office has misappropriated of funds, unbelievably bad business behavior! I'm a new patient 01/28/2020 Unable to control my breathing consistently out of breath, dizziness, headache and very irritable. Asthma is also out of control my medications are not working. This had been going one for a couple of months. I met Dr de Keratry on the 28th. I was comfortable with Dr de Keratry and what I really liked was at the end of this visit I received a packed of document with his notes and what we talk about and a plan for treatment. 02/10/20 The medication sample I was given by Dr de Keratry I'm almost out. I called to see if I can get more. Nurse Angie stated we do not give out samples. I explained at this time a can't afford to pay another $400+ for a prescription. Then the office manager (Stephanie?) joined in the conversation. She said I heard this whole conversation and there is nothing we can do for you. The office manager suggested I order my prescription from Canada. I requested to talk with my physician and the office manager refused than I demanded to talk with my physician she still refused, I said to the office manage I think I made a mistake coming to the office for treatment. 02/10/2020 my condition has worsened I'm talking with Nurse Angie She suggested I get to the emergency room for evaluation and don't drive have someone bring me. Nurse Angie also said the need a blood draw to check for lupus. I agree I'll go the next day. I asked Nurse Angie, do I need to fast? Her reply I don't know you need to ask them at CPL.? At the hospital emergency room I received a treatment for my lungs. 02/11/2020 my breathing has not improved "out of breath, dizziness, headache and very irritable" 2/11/2020 07:20 blood draw for lupus. I asked how soon will get the results from this blood draw. CPL said the results will be within 24 hours. The Patient portal for Georgetown Pulmonary Associates, PA is not being utilized like is was intended to be???? 02/14/2020 I signed into my portal there was no information on my blood work. I requesting the status of my blood draw on 02/11/2020? 02/18/2020 Nurse Angie replied, There are no abnormal results. Have a great week?? 02/18/2020 I replied to Nurse Angie I would appreciate a copy of my lab work from 02/11/202? 02/18/20 Nurse Angie replied Unfortunately, we do not upload lab results to our portal. You would need to come to the office to pick up results, and we have a $15 records fee. Please let me know if you would like to do that? My mother had one visit at Georgetown Pulmonology and we didn't care for the doctor at all. (Dr. Mangat) When we called to try to change doctors, they said it was policy that we couldn't switch doctors in the practice since we were an established patient. (1 visit!) After talking to the manager, they still would not let us switch. They would rather lose a patient than let you find a doctor that better fits your needs and personality. DO NOT go to this office, they truly don't want you to have the best care! read more

I am a retired physician and my wife an RN. My wife was hospitalized recently for pneumonia and was cared for by Dr D and associates. I found their care was thoughtful,prompt, and professional. Previous reviews concern office management and money and are highly subjective. I know a good doctor when I see one, and Dr Dekeratry is certainly one. read more

I absolutely DO NOT recommend anyone to this practice. I was given a referral to them from my PCP for my daughter to go get a pulimary functions test before she could join the military. It took a month before we got an appointment, which was annoying to begin with, but what can you do. We went to the visit expecting to have the test done, since that was what our referral was for. I had to pay $298 before we could even see the doctor. I have a high deductable, so I already knew it would be high for a specialty visit like this. We filled out the remaining paperwork then they took my daughters vitals and Dr. Nguyen came in to see her. She asked the same questions our PCP asked, then listened to her breath a few breaths with a stethoscope. We were expecting they would then do the test, but she told us we would have to come back another time for that. I got a bit upset and asked them if we would have to pay again and they said YES! Dr. Nguyen suddenly disappeared and left me to question the staff about it. They said their internet was down, so they could not look it up, but our referral was for a consult! Total BS! We had already had a consult with our PCP and were supposed to be getting a full test done there instead of the shortened test they do in the PCP office! They called me the next morning and I told them I either wanted the test done without another charge or to be refunded for getting absolutely nothing from them. Her exact words were "that's not going to happen". They say the referral was for a full evaluation, so they have the right to charge us for separate visits. Absolutely absurd and disgusting how this office is run. They are out for nothing but your money. read more

The associates at Georgetown Pulmonary are the best! Complications from COPD threatened his life. Dr. Mangat, Dr. Fields, & Dr. Dekeratry were on top of the diagnosis of COPD, blood clots and then the treatments, medications, in hospital and out of hospital care. When anyone has to see a pulmonologist it is usually for something serious. I saw Dr. Audrey Nguyen and she was the coldest, driest Doctor I have ever met in my life. I dismissed it the first visit as I was scared and this practice, not Dr Nguyen, had been recommended. Maybe she really knew her stuff but lacked a little bed side manner so I continued seeing her, however nothing ever improved. I had a couple follow ups and every visit, talking to Dr Nguyen was like pulling teeth. She didn't really offer much and I felt like I had to keep digging for more information. Certain follow ups that normally should have been covered they made me pay for. Tests that could have been done in one visit, they made me make another appointment and pay again and again. Anyway, when my condition was improving, I still felt like i was a leper or I was going to die or something after talking to Dr. Nguyen . No reassurances, not conversation etc. The last visit was the worst. I had to wait months for the appointment and granted i was running late (work full time with 3 little kids) but I called ahead and said I was just around the corner. They only have a 10 minute window. I got there around 12 minutes late and their was a senior couple ahead of me so I had to wait - by the time i got to the window it was now well past the 10 minutes so they refused to see me. They saw me waiting of course. Coincidently they had another appointment that same day later in the afternoon. (after I waited months in the first place) I arrived on time,- early - and they asked me if I had been tested for covid in the last month, I said yes and it was negative and it had been almost a month ago. They wanted the written results, which I didn't have and they didn't mention I needed when I was there earlier that day, so i just asked them to call the doctor and they could verify and fax the results. They did call, Doctor confirmed negative results however the fax had not arrived within the 10 minute window and they refused to see me - again. I was obviously quite upset - I just wanted to doc to review my scans and let me know if i was still on the mend or if I was going to die - several people from behind the window came forward all belittling me for not being prepared for the appointment and were not going to let me see Dr Ngyuen. Again, anyone seeing a pulmonologist or any specialist for that matter, likely needs some... I don't know - compassion, kindness, understanding - how about human decency. You will not get any human touch in this office. In fact - do not waste your time. There are plenty of Pulmonologists to choose from despite the fact that this place seems to think they are holier than though and their patients are all at their mercy - wielding their powers rather than working with their patients. Run - go elsewhere. They do not care about you or your condition. read more

The doctor was thorough and did a good job. However, they nickel and dime you like crazy! I was charged $75 for the doc to show me how to use an inhaler, even though I had already used one and my pharmacist does this for free. Very money focused and pricey- have since switched doctor offices. I can't get any records either unless I pay them- as if they aren't all electronic files and can be sent with a single click. read more

I have to say Dr. Fields is 100% worth the wait! She has saved my husband's life on more than one occasion. Once she heard what his issues were she dug and dug until she found the root of the problem. She never once just threw medication at it. I would send anyone I love with lung issues to her. The Doctor I saw seemed nice enough. I'm still not convinced he did not read what he told me on google. did not seem to be familiar with any of my medical history or the information I was required to give at check in. Now I am told I will have to wait 7 to 10 days after the person in charge of records decides to come back to work in order to get my records in addition to paying $15.00 plus .10 per page after so many pages. read more
