The guide was knowledgeable and responsive to the group's many questions. There are so many stories left untold in our history books and our guide introduced us to early luminaries in the Black community in Alexandria, like doctors, civil rights attorneys, property developers and organizers of churches and social clubs. We even visited a cemetery from the 1800s where freedmen were buried after the war. Standing there, I had such a powerful feeling. These were REAL people, not just faceless characters from a book. Know before you go: This is a small, locally owned and operated business. Don't expect 24/7 operators to take your call. If you are from out of town, it gets hot here in the summer! Our guide had water bottles for us and the bus was air conditioned (not on arctic blast but it was nice). Do expect a caring and personal experience. You'll be glad you went!

We've spent the past year enjoying the sights and restaurants of Old Town waterfront so we were excited to learn about the history of the black community here. John Chapman was an excellent tour guide - highly recommend this tour company for anyone living or visiting in Alexandria, particularly families and schools!

We had a 12pm tour that told us to arrive 15 minutes early. The bus did not show up until 12:05. It wasn't a long wait but it was 30 degrees outside. Everyone on the bus got there early and the bus was late. Once you get on the bus, they tell you which booths to sit in. At your booth, they have the food already set out for you. Each person gets 4 finger sandwiches, a crostini, deviled egg, 4 desserts and 2 scones, if you do the petite tea experience. I found it to be a good amount of food, I did not leave hungry. The food is not incredible quality, but for being on a bus, I found it pretty good. Like the sandwiches were a bit dry, but overall tasty. For the teas, each person gets a travel tumbler (that you get to take home) that they put our teas in. They gave each of us 5 different teas to try throughout the tour. The flavors were pretty good, I enjoyed all of them except for the raspberry hibiscus. The bus takes you around the national mall and then onto other parts of the district near the mall. The narrator of the tour does give you some facts and points out different significant places that you pass. They also sang us a few songs while we were driving. The driver did a good job, though at times it was hard to eat and drink while the bus turned or started/stopped. The bus itself is a bit worn in parts. Some of the seats had stains, the floor was coming up in parts. It could use a little maintenance. I'm glad to have gotten to experience the tea bus once, I don't think I would do it again. I do think it would be a fun experience to take someone from out of town to do.

We were set up with a coach bus which was clean and comfortable, and the driver was at our service as soon as he arrived. He drove us to brunch, picked us up, and drove us a around all of the landmark spots (and even pointed out some historical facts along the way). Everyone was so impressed at how we were treated; we will surely be using Ramjay for all of our transportation needs in the future. Thank you!!!!

Both times have been positive experiences, and I plan to use them again for my wedding! Booking: They respond to emails quickly, and I've never had issues with communication. I can be a little uptight when double checking details (especially for group events!) but the manager Jeeth has always been really nice about it. The first time I used Ramjay for the limo, I shopped around for prices - they were asking a significantly less than other companies! The second time I just went with them because of my prior experience, and the price seemed fair. Drivers: Drivers have been professional and on time. One driver had an accent and I struggled at times to understand him, but he was really friendly and didn't seem to mind me asking him to repeat himself! He got us where we wanted to go, so in the end, I think it's a pretty minor thing. Vehicles: The limo was perfect for our NYE adventure, while the Sprinter was a classy and convenient way to get to Leesburg from Arlington. Both were well-kept from the outside and clean on the inside. Also, they were both black which is a preference of mine. Overall, great service at a really reasonable price. Highly recommended!
