I went here the third time and unfortunately, my haircut was less than stellar. First, instead of washing my hair, the stylist used a spray bottle to wet my hair. I did not question that at that time because there was a drought warning in effect in the county, so I thought that was standard. I have very manageable hair with no damage so it is not quite hard to cut and style. My haircut was uneven and unflattering. So sad to say goodbye to this salon. read more

If you are looking for wedding or special event hair, this is not the place. My sister had a trial done for her hair for her wedding. She gave them her wedding date and was told they were available. At the appointment, she and the stylist discussed what time the stylist would be there, etc. She was told after the appointment and paying for the wedding trial that they were suddenly booked for that day. Who in their right mind would book a trial with someone who wasn't available on the day they needed them? What a waste of everyone's time and money. The manager of the salon told her she should have verified her wedding date was available. Since when is it the customer's job to verify the date is available after already being told it is? This salon needs to get their scheduling and organization together. She now has to find a new stylist, is out the money for a pointless hair trial, and has to pay for a new trial with someone who is actually available. This clearly isn't the place you want to trust with something as important as your wedding day. Negligent and terrible customer service. read more

I don't do this ever but I'm so fed up and disappointed. I booked a hair trial for my wedding day with Georgetown West Salon which I attended and paid for. During the trial we scheduled the entire day of my wedding and spoke about all the details. A week later I get a call saying that the person is unavailable and has been booked since Nov 2022 for the same day. When I asked why the books weren't checked ahead of time they couldn't give me an answer so I asked for my money back. The manager, Charlotte was supposed to call me back yesterday per their receptionist which she didn't and so I called back today and spoke to her. She basically doubled down and blamed me for not verifying that the date was available when I clearly have no access to the stylist schedules stating that I did get the service done. Who in their right mind would waste time and money on a wedding hair trial with someone who wasn't even available the day of the wedding? I am waiting for a response back from Linda Trigo who is the owner but I am disgusted with the way they have gone about this entire process. Shame on you for such awful customer service. read more

I'm very pleased with my haircut at Georgetown West. It is a no frills place, a step up from Hair Cuttery but not an Aveda Salon of course. That said, it's exactly what I want. Charlottesville has no dearth of hair salons that are outrageously expensive (just like everything else) but Georgetown West is more reasonably priced - $38 for women, $13 for men/boys, $20 for girls incl shampoo and blow dry. It's tucked into an old building next to Mudhouse in case you want to enjoy a good cup of Joe while you get your hair done. Kayleigh took great care asking what I wanted, washing my hair, cutting, fixing and styling my hair. I will be back for sure. They do walk-ins and appointments and they're open on Saturdays. All good reasons you should go check it out if you want your hair done without breaking the bank. read more

I desperately needed to get my eyebrows done before a wedding. Called Georgetown West and Allie got me in right away. Cheapest I've ever paid for my eyebrows and they look fantastic! She chatted with me about what I wanted, was transparent about the whole process, gave me advice about what she thought would be best, and my eyebrows look fantastic. Super thrilled! read more
