Before my first lesson, I only knew how to drive forward on local roads only and was frightened by the idea of driving; I had never learned how to drive in rear, much less park or parallel park. But by the end of the two weeks (we met several times for about 2 hours each), I was more than ready to take the Georgia road test and passed within 10 minutes with flying colors. The instructor is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also very patient, humorous and kind. I appreciated that he didn't panic or get frustrated when I drove badly. I didn't need my own car to practice; the instructor picked me up at my school dorm and dropped me off after lessons were over. He also picked me up and allowed me to use the company car for my drive test. The company's car has a break on the passenger side so that the instructor can break in case the student driver should lose control of the car. I didn't need assistance on the written test but I understand that this driving school excellently prepares their students for that test as well.

Staff at St. Aiden's made my child's first day of preschool a living nightmare…read more Upon picking my child up from his first day of school he informed me that another child had hit him. I approached his teacher, Ms. Patty, and asked to speak with her in regards to this matter. Once I told Ms. Patty what my son had told me she instantly became very defensive. She immediately came to the other child's defense and straight out accused my son of lying. I asked her how they handle altercations between children and her response was "typically we would speak to both students and their parents BUT it didn't happen." After several minutes of being accused of lying I decided to leave with my son. Not only did this upset my son but it also tainted the image I had portrayed of how teachers are supposed to be. Supportive, friendly and trustworthy. Our experience with Ms. Patty was none of the above. To make matters worse, minutes after leaving the facility I received an extremely aggressive email from the director, Julie. She did not ask me any questions about the conversation that took place. Instead, she came to Ms. Patty's defense and threatened to kick my son out. Given the experience we had on our son's first day, my husband and I agreed we were not comfortable leaving our son in their care. Leaving us no choice, we removed our son from this preschool. We let the director know our decision and requested a full refund. We were only given a PARTIAL refund and were still charged fees. Nothing was explained to us and no further contact was made by the school. I made the mistake of assuming this preschool was a warm, inviting environment due to it being linked to a church. I was sadly mistaken. Patty was extremely bias and made my child feel embarrassed, unheard and unworthy. Julie, the director, turned around and did the same to me.

She loves going to school everyday and a huge part of that is the environment that St. Aidans fosters. Their curriculum has always been exactly what she needed and her teachers have always been able to challenge her academically and encourage her imagination and creativity as well. Most of the teachers that I know are kids-friendly, but one teacher has to care for so many infants and/or toddlers in each classroom, more than any one person could handle. When I asked the director about the ratio of staff per number of students, she was always so vague. I feel really sorry for the teacher, and for my child as well, every time I saw one teacher has to care for 10-11 kids, and almost all of them are sick with a bad cold. That's why the regular teacher was out sick for 1-2 days every 1-2 weeks too. Oftentimes, I would see a new teacher whenever the main teacher was out sick, and none of the new teachers even bother to introduce themselves to me. Sometimes, I even wondered if they could speak English because they didn't seem to understand me whenever I asked them questions about my child for the day. I often picked my child up with a heavy heart every day because she was always dirty all over, like a homeless child who was abandoned on the street. I paid them so much money every week for my child's attendance there, but the services that my child received not worth the high costs that they charged me. Several times, I heard the assistant director reprimanded the same teacher right in the middle of the hallway, which was so unprofessional. I must admit that I really had an issue with this daycare's assistant director. You can tell right away that she wears a fake face when talking to you and she is extremely bossy to the nice teachers there. One time, she even yelled at the director about something that they were arguing about. Personally, I don't see her poor professionalism would fit with her position. I know it's hard to find a perfect daycare, but there should be many better daycares out there for your child than this one. Just keep looking and switching (if needed) until you feel the services your child receives at any daycare is at least 70% worth the money that you pay them.
