We signed up for the online drivers ed (which took my daughter a full year to complete, but there's no rush and it worked great for our schedule) and six hours of driving lessons. My 16 year old was a decent driver, but needed to fine tune some of the more difficult things (like parking and highway driving). Drive Smart Johns Creek made that easy. The instructors were, for the most part, very patient and thoughtful (although one took her on the highway where she was pulled over by the police for not yielding -- we are viewing that as a learning experience). I would like to make a special recognition of instructor, Alonzo Thornton, who taught her how to stay calm and be confident behind the wheel. He is a calming, nurturing teacher. Five stars for Alonzo! Extra bonus: my daughter took her driving test at the school... which means she drove their car on the course she took lessons on -- everything was familiar, so that lowered her stress level. The driving classes were fine but scheduling the car based sessions are impossible. I hope that someone in management is reading this. I've tried for weeks to get a class and if you are not at a computer at exactly 4 pm on Tuesday you will not be able to get a session. I've even been put on cancellation list but in 3 weeks have only received one cancellation notice. Today I logged in at exactly 4:14 and all weekend sessions were already taken. Only sessions available are during school day. Please management do something to put more sessions In evening and on weekends. I am unable to use what we paid for months ago. Very frustrated and every parent I've talked to shares this frustration. I have spoken to people in office who seem very nice but it's not helping us get to scheduling lessons. I logged in to site today and was unable to get any lessons for week that had opened up on evenings and weekend. We saw one cancellation today for a lesson at 5:45 AM we grabbed it as that is only thing that has come open. Both my kids went through this program. For the majority of the driving sessions they both had James. He was fantastic! My daughter has anxiety and he put her at ease. She didn't feel rushed or pressured. He was the best part about the entire experience. The classroom instruction was also really good. The only issue we had was with the actual website and how it was difficult to schedule sessions. It is nearly impossible to schedule driving lessons with this company. They email apologies for their staffing issues but after two months we have yet to be able to schedule a driving lesson online. They are selling a service they cannot provide. The owner, Kirk Bressette, taught one session of my son's in class instruction. The driving coach was friendly and informative, scheduling and payment were seamless as it was all done online, and the driver's license paperwork Drive Smart provided me with made renewing my license very easy with DDS. I also received a discount on car insurance becuase I took a driving class with Drive Smart. I would definitely recommend them for teens getting their first license or adults renewing their license after a suspension. read more

It seems we are having the same issue as many others. It is impossible to schedule driving lessons. What makes our situation worse is that my Johns Creek High school student has a chance of lessons with a Johns Creek High school teacher we are both not fond of. We are willing to drive out of our way to another location just to avoid this Johns Creek instructor but they also have no availability. We have been waitlisted at 2 locations and have no clue when he might be able to get in. Update- I just spoke to Johns creek who argued with me and had awful customer service skills. We agreed that the only place to take this Is BBB. It is disgusting that I have spent time and money on a place that offers no support and provides false advertising. My hopes that this would be resolved and my son would get the guidance and support I thought I paid for have been shattered. They just sent an email saying they will refund the money for the driving classes they do not give you. I could have gotten a package for less elsewhere so they basically con you offering a package of services and only provide you with half. The Johns creek location customer service was awful. It was bad enough we can't get any driving lesson. We had to stop what we are doing every Tuesday just to schedule a time that we paid for months ago. We only got one driving lesson the entire summer. Thank God for the Cumming location representative that helped us get one session. The Johns Creek location hardley answer their phone, or if they do they won't help. I have multiple kids and will never use Drive Smart Georgia again. FYI the cumming location customer service was amazing. If I had to do it all over again, I will definitely use the Cumming location. Drive Smart was one of the WORST experiences I have had! The Customer service is terrible. While the classroom hours seemed to go ok (although there seemed to be A LOT of wasted time where kids were allowed to bring handheld video games and play) The in car driving lessons were very much just the basics. Two hours of driving around on local roads. No time on the highway and only about 15 minutes spent on parallel parking. Scheduling the lessons was next to impossible. Once they were scheduled, the instructors showed up at our house 15-30 minutes late. Had to schedule the driving test a full month after my son's eligibility date because of their lack of staff. On top of that, the tester automatically failed my son for him having to slightly apply a break even though my son says there was absolutely NO DANGER of them hitting anything. They have destroyed my son's confidence in driving even though I have spent 40 hours driving with him and know that while he's not perfect, he would have never failed to brake if a car was coming! BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY! WE HAVE SPENT $550 ON THIS SHAM AND 3 MONTHS LATER WE STILL DONT HAVE A LICENSE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Two days before the test we were called and told that we must take our test at the Johns Creek location because "the State of GA had decided that DS could only give tests at the Johns Creek location. " Come to find out from our tester yesterday that we had to take the test in Johns creek because the Alpharetta location had not fold the right paperwork to stay eligible with the State to give tests. Class is great and driving lessons are also great if you can get them scheduled. Scheduling classes is ridiculously difficult and their are not very many times available outside of work and school hours. The process for scheduling the lessons is nearly impossible if you can't get to a computer or your phone around 4pm every Tuesday. I will not be recommending them to friends solely because of the difficulty in scheduling lessons, which I hate because both the instructors we had (1 class and 1 driving) have been great! read more

Great driving school! I was required by my parents to take some instructional driving courses before getting a car for my graduation so i did! I started off at gadrivingcoach and their customer service was awful! So we switched here hoping for some better luck & received more than better! My driving instructor was Angel, she was full of personality, the two hours in the car with her never got boring and i felt comfortable with her! Horrible Service and so not worth it ! Trying to schedule driving lessons and its almost impossible to do so as the times are limited and inconvenient. The only times available are during school hours. I am actually trying to get a refund because I'm not sure I will be able to get driving lessons from them. They say if if sign up for the driver's ed package those students will be given priority for classes so I did that thinking we would start the process sooner. Only during the week, in the middle of the day. My son has had one lesson (out of his 3) and the teacher (Ashley) was nice but the car was beat up and crappy. Awful. No others words describe this business other than just plain awful. You are supposed to use their online scheduling service to book lessons for your child. This online scheduling service - Drivescout - opens up no more than 8 lessons each week. I find it hard to believe that in a 7 day week for lessons - only 8 show up on drivescout to pick from. It is IMPOSSIBLE to schedule driving lessons. The business offers absolutely no help. When you call they.say the same thing over and over - your child is on our list - they will get a drivers lesson this month - we'll call you. I've called them twice now - heard this message twice......I've never heard from them at all once for this magical lesson to be scheduled and it's been a month since I've heard this. Please run away from this business! Do not book with them. While you'll be able to sign up for in class lessons - you will NEVER get drivers lessons scheduled. UPDATE: 2 weeks have gone by and still no help from DriveSmart on scheduling lessons despite calling, emailing and being on their "priority list". Please don't sign up your child with this company. I would never recommend anyone to John's Creek Location. Customer service is absolutely horrible. Impossible to schedule a drive...literally took 5 mo this before we could get one. Always filled or it's during school hour. I'm sorry, do they expect us to take our kids out of school! Also, they can't even get our schedule right and wants to charge us. Over $600 later, my child failed the driving test twice only for them to try and sell even more lessons. The instructors are rude, impatient, and disrespectful. This school is incapable of scheduling your child's 6 hours of driving lessons. You can call and the lady is very rude. I had one nice lady help me once but other than that, no other classes have been scheduled. The one driver said he would schedule a lesson but hasn't contacted us either. Also, the lessons available are during school hours. So if you want your child to take the classes quickly, you have to allow them two hours out of school. Unreasonable and unprofessional service. After paying over $400, we're finding it impossible to finish the course and take the test, because while the classroom lessons are fine, the actual driving lessons are IMPOSSIBLE to schedule. It's harder than winning a radio contest by being the 100th caller. By the time you can get on the website (which is overloaded) the one day and time per week you can schedule them, the lessons are all filled up. My daughter ends up in tears every Tuesday when she finally gets through and they're all filled up. I feel like we wasted our money and this will NEVER be over.
