This is a great local gun store, that also has a very good internet presence. To start off, I don't know the owner personally, and I'm not a "regular" customer that gets special treatment or anything like that. But, I have shopped in 50+ local gun shops in the various places that I've lived in the USA, and I can confidently say that the Georgia Gun Store is one of the best. The store is well organized, with many popular accessories for popular firearms. There have been times that I wasn't sure if they would have something in stock, but after finding the item on their website, and seeing that it indicated that they had the item "in stock" - I'd go to the store and get the item, just like it should be. I've been in the store roughly 6-8 times in the past couple of years, and I've always received friendly, courteous treatment. They do get busy at times (particularly around Christmas), so there may be a bit of a wait. But, they do have additional staff working to help with the busier times. I've read the negative reviews, and I honestly can't find anything negative to say about the place or the people working there. I do know that people are about 10 times more likely to make a negative post than a positive one, so please keep that in mind when reading online reviews. read more

I have been by the store a few times and they know their stuff. They always seem to know the answers to your questions and are always pretty helpful. I will generally try to talk them down to their best price whenever I can. They also have a big store and a good selection most of the time and the website lists pretty much everything they have. I have only once not been able to find what I have been looking for, but that was for an obscure piece of survival gear. I also like how they follow all the rules about paperwork, waiting periods and such. They are clearly operating on the level and it is good to have a business that doesn't cut corners. I live quite a ways away, but I will be making most of my gun purchases at this store. I am giving them five stars, but the one negative I will say is that the parking could be better. There is often times a car parked in front of the store creating a blind spot, which is dangerous. I will not deduct for it, though, since I do not think it is related to their store. read more

Was looking at several other retailers who spent plenty of time taking my number then blowing me off before I considered these guys, was very glad I chose to buy here. Whether you're looking to add to a collection or you are first time buyer these guys seem to have a great knowledgeable team. Myself personally, I went in here to buy my first handgun (22yr old) after only previously being gifted, I spent some time watching their website for what I was looking for and as soon as it said they had it in store they did, no phone call needed, not only was I able to just go in and get through the purchase process in under 30 Minutes but the team was extremely helpful in doing so and it was very knowledgeable in helping answering questions about further setup of the MOS model with its unique features. I will most definitely be going back to buy from here again, as every time I've gone in they always seem to treat returning customers as family! read more

This store has the best prices in the area and I don't just mean Gainesville. I recently bought a .357 revolver there and was very pleased with the transaction. It's true that sometimes there is a wait but what do you expect from a small mom and pop store when demand is this high? I bought some earplugs for stocking stuffers and had no problem exchanging them when I realized they were sized and I'd gotten them too big. I've also purchased a small bedside gun safe and a good bit of ammo for all our guns. I proudly wear both of my Georgia Gun Store t-shirts and have referred dozens of friends and co-workers. Have been a customer of GA Gun Store for many years, Kelly and Mike have developed a very loyal customer base because of their friendly service and great prices. They take as much time as needed to answer all customers that are interested in buying their first gun or adding to their collection. On occasion they have to determine what the customers real intent for purchase is also. Most new gun purchasers don't know the term of a "straw purchase" or what it means. Any gun store found selling in that manner can be fined and or lose their license. So educate yourself about buying a gun. Years ago I watched these folks when they just had tables at local gun shows. They stood out then, as now, as very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. When they opened their 1st retail store I became a happy customer. They always seem to have the neat, hard to find stuff along with the usual products. I moved away several years ago but was in Gainesville yesterday just to say hello. Same family and staff, much more inventory and as always great prices on hard to get items. I typically visit the store but as a firearm i wanted was not in stock i just placed the order on line on a Friday, picked it up the next Wednesday (5 days). I have purchased, traded, and just "window shopped" for several years. You will not find nicer people than Mike, Kelli, and their staff. Always polite, always patient, always informative. I have seen some negative comments about this store but I sure dont understand where they are coming from. This store is where I shop for my firearms and Mike and Kelli are why. They have a great selection in stock to choose from, and have always offered to special order any item I've requested, that by chance, was not in stock. Always willing to help me find the less than normal/popular firearms. I have purchased firearms using multiple methods at Georgia Gun Store, direct in Store, via email and through the online store, all with no issues. I would say it's the best place to purchase firearms in the southeast at least. A priority for me is I am purchasing my firearms from a veteran who served our country. This is a great store with great prices and a helpful, knowledgeable staff. My only suggestion to other shoppers...they get pretty busy on Saturdays so, if you want or need extra attention and time, I recommend stopping by during the week. Not that they aren't just as friendly on a Saturday, but you will have other customers wanting to see product and ask questions at the same time. I was searching, online and in stores, for over 2 years for a very specific firearm that has been sold out everywhere. Everyday my search was fruitless until one day this store popped up with not 1 but 2 in stock! I immediately placed my order with out any questions, and I am glad I did. Have purchased guns on line for transfer in and in store. On-line transactions are always good as long as you do your part by ensuring the FFL gets to the on-line store. I try to provide Georgia Gun Store an email, fax and phone # with a reference to my on-line purchase order number. No issues. Sometimes you have to have GGS resend the FFL but that is the nature of buying on-line and dealing with all sorts of suppliers and clunky outdated federal system. ...But - at least we can.. read more
