Horrible customer service. Apparently Something went wrong with my meter and a technician came out to check it. I had no idea anything was happening. I didn't notice anything was amiss until my power went out. The tech had arrived and shut down my power without telling/warning me of what he needed to do. It was super inconvenient given that i was on an important meeting for work. When i lost power I looked outside and saw GA Power tech. I approached him to ask what had happened, and to ask why he hadn't informed me of his plans. He spoke to me in a manner that was at first dismissive, then aggressive. He to my face (and eventually to his supervisor) saying that he had knocked on my door to inform me. Why not just take accountability and apologize? I felt i had to call to complain. I called the customer service line and a representative took my contact info so that a supervisor could call me back. The supposed supervisor called me back to apologize for his rudeness, but gave no reassurance that the tech would get pd around customer service. To add insult to injury guess who saw a huge spike in her usage on the bill for that month? The highest bill I have seen in 3 years. I called to ask for an explanation, but got no joy. Basically they claimed the bill was correct based on the reading from the tech. Smh. I had to just eat it and pay. What else could i do? Good luck folks! read more

There is no way electric service should be this unreliable. Out of my 40+ years of living in Georgia, I have never experienced a power outage from simple rain. But leave it to Georgia power to have go out twice in less than two weeks due to rain. I can understand lightning knocking power out but a light rain? Come on GA power is your infrastructure so bad that it can't even handle rain? I feel for the residents that need power to keep their medications cool or like in my case a few years ago, supplemental oxygen in order to BREATHE! First, let me say that I appreciate Georgia Power. But WHY is this company transferring its trusting customers to AllConnect? If Georgia Power offers to transfer you to AllConnect SAY NO NO HELL NO After letting Georgia Power know that I was moving and helping me transfer my account to the new address, they offered to transfer me to a 3rd party representative that could help me with the other accounts related to moving (gas, internet). I then proceeded to have the WORST customer service experience of my life. AllConnect is a horribly manipulative company (check their Yelp reviews) that only makes moving worse for its customers. Though they say they want to save you money and help you with ALL your accounts, they only cost their customers excess money and they only care about your internet/cable account, nothing else. My question is, why is a well-respected company like Georgia Power feeding its customers to this horrible company? I will never use AllConnect again and in turn my trust in Georgia Power has been severely damaged. read more

Power goes out almost monthly, even on clear and sunny days. They clearly have a problem with their infrastructure in the Athens area that needs to be fixed. read more

This was probably the worst customer service experience I have ever had. After completing an online request and application weeks ago to transfer service from our builder to us, we came home to our power turned off tonight. Apparently no one ever processed our application. After going through the process again over the phone, we are told the power may or may not be back on today. It's November. We have small children and it gets cold at night. Not to mention, this is THEIR error. A couple of hours later I opened a chat with Chris to inquire about connection. He's undeniably the worst chat rep I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. Incredibly rude and unwilling to help in any way, he couldn't even pretend to be sympathetic about the error and the fact that because of his company's epic suck, my kids are going to be freezing all night. He does NOT need to interact with customers. Ever. I will say again, he needs a new job. Seriously disappointed in GA Power and will post a negative review anywhere I can. read more

On the prepaid plan my bill hit -1.99$ so I put 20$ on there an they still disconnected our service with a four year old and five month in the home wish there were other options for power because Georgia power gives two fucks about us. read more

My wife and I visited the office on Prince Ave in Athens this morning. We overheard an elderly lady asking a CSR to change the name on her bill from her husband's to her name because he died suddenly last week. The CSR responded, OK, "There will be a $30.00 reconnection fee for that. Perhaps, her first response should have been, I'm sorry for your loss, let me help. I can't believe that GA POWER would charge a "reconnection fee" under the circumstances. Also, we received very poor service and conflicting information. My mother in law is disabled, bedridden and cannot conduct any business or pay bills. She lives with us now. My wife has power of attorney and her power bills are already mailed to our address. My wife was told to bring a copy of the Power Attorney to the office and she would not be charged a reconnect fee to change the bill to her name so she could pay it online. In addition, the CSR tried to charge us a 50.00 reconnect fee because the power was turned off for "non-payment" in June. Actually, the payment was made on time at the office and the CSR applied it to the wrong account. The mistake was discovered the same day, the power was restored immediately, they apologized and now they wanted to charge a reconnect fee due to their mistake. read more
