I had Big Frog Electric move two kitchen lights, and move the TV power and HDMI cables behind the wall. They did a great job, and made minimal cuts in the drywall. I had them come back a week later to add recessed lights. The lighting in the kitchen is amazing, it had been very dark! I am extremely disappointed with the work performed by Big Frog Electric. I originally requested the installation of recessed cans with incandescent lights for my family room. I showed Alan that I had more than enough room to fit the fixtures. He insisted on Wafer thin LED lights 6" wide. I emailed and texted him that I wanted to SEE the fixtures before he installed them, repeatedly asked him if I didn't have to go with 4" lights, tried to understand what these LED lights did and how they would look. I never got the brand name or the model of the lights on time to be able to check out how they worked before installation day. Once he arrives and I see the box, my first comment was "they are huge" and he insisted it was going to be ok. After 6 holes in my ceiling, my family room looked like a car dealership, a runway and there were still shadows on the walls. They had to install two additional 4" lights to illuminate the rest (of course, more money, and more lights) Needless to say, the 4" lights look much more to my liking that these huge 6" UFOs and it's my house after all (and my money). Robbie, the electrician who seemed to be in charge of this even commented that he wouldn't have installed them in this fashion (I don't know what he had in mind but it was not what I was seeing) I thought they were going to leave at the very least a box of the fixtures or shared the brand name for me to have (in case I need to replace them and also because they come with a warranty which I now do not possess) I called them and texted them several times to have them come out and fix the inferno of lights they left behind. All I got was how to switch the fixture's Kelvins myself to a yellow color. Nothing was done about the Lumens (something they do not mention) with is what actually regulates the amount of light shed on the room. This information was explained to me by another electrician I reached out after the fact. Not only should they had installed a LED DIMMER (to lower the light intensity or Lumens) but they created tremendous glare because of the sloped ceiling (where directional lights should have been installed so they face the floor and not your eyes) This glare gives you horrible headaches and I have found many studies (some Harvard studies) about the dangers of LED lights to humans. I am still waiting to find out (they haven't responded to me with this info yet) if these lights are DIMMABLE. They also promised solving the problem and they just decided to not return my calls or do something about it. The second part of the installation, was Ethernet wiring from the basement to the main floor and the upper floor of the house. I requested Cat6a wiring. I keep on insisting they show this is Cat6a wiring on their invoice (I want a document that a Licensed Electrician performed this work with Cat6a) and, in spite of updating the description of the ethernet cable, the invoice charges me for Cat6a but shows Cat6. Needless to say, Mr. Aboshamaa left my house in the middle of the installation without even letting me know. Left Robbie and an apprentice behind to also finish this. Alan had asked me where I wanted to have the box installed in the basement for the wiring and it was installed on a different spot (further away from the incoming coax cables that feed the modem) making all the cables between the equipment extend and make people trip over them when they are too tight. Scrap cable was left behind with the door to the attic fully open and a very dirty area. I have requested to know what type of cable this was and I still have not received answer. There are many other details I am not happy with, this was not a cheap project. I spent over $1200 on this. The least they could do is pick up the phone and address my questions/concerns. Install a LED dimmer and provide me with the permit they pulled for this job. It took me 10 days to find Mr. Crofutt's electrical license. All because I didn't even have his last name's correct spelling. I never met this man in person, and neither has he come to oversee his crew's work. I was never able to find Big Frog's electrical license as a company or Alan's. My next step is to call the state's licensing board to make sure I am protected and not left to fend off for myself in case a problem arises due to this work. One can only hope. I have so much more to share but basically it boils down to this: listen to your customer, it's their house, it's not what's faster and/or easier for you to install. It's not leaving holes in the drywall and dirt behind you what will get you more business. And definitely, the final decision is NOT yours. If I make a mistake about what I want, it's my mistake. If you steer me on the wrong direction and leave me with migraines, then it becomes YOUR problem and if you are a responsible professional at all, you should fix it. One more thing: My electrical panel is up to code - you would know if you had properly checked. read more

We have used big frog for several years. We have usually had a very good experience. This time we had a terrible experience and won't be using them again. They came out to assess the situation, said they'd need just over a week to come out to complete the job. It's triple digit temps and it's our pool that's out of commission. we can't get the pool fixed until the electric work is done. They scheduled a time to come out and then just didn't show. Four hours later we got a call saying the guy can't make it and it's going to be another 10 days. Not even a sorry. So much for an 11 year customer. We started having issues with our washing machine not turning on. After ruling out the washer, the only thing it could be is the power. I gave Big Frog Electric a call around 11 AM. My garage and family room share a circuit in my electrical panel and the electricity in those areas started going out completely whenever a wall switch or socket was used. This had been occurring intermittently for approx. 3 weeks to the point that I setup a bypass for the family room devices using a 50-100 ft heavy duty extension cord and some multi-outlet power strips. I explained to Robbie that a GA Power former employee I know suggested it could be a short in the panel box itself for the area involved or a short in one of the switches or sockets. Robbie 1st checked one multi-switch area where I had someone install 2 Wi-fi switches for me, then he performed some other tests and immediately found the problem within 5-10 minutes. It was a GFI socket in the garage that wasn't completely installed, possibly during the home construction (10 yrs. ago). We never used the socket until a week before the problem started, which made a lot of sense now why it caused the issue. I recalled I had some problems with 3 kitchen sockets, which never worked since we moved in. I thought I needed to have them replaced with upgraded GFI sockets, and suggested this would be a future project if needed, because I was silently concerned about the price to fix my current problem, but Robbie found out they were already GFI protected and the problem was the main controlling GFI socket needed repair. Robbie was very informative and patient with me in explaining the problems and fixed both issues quickly. He made me feel very confident about using Big Frog for my future electrical projects and repairs. Since I am new the area it took some time for me to decide who to call for the problem, which would also help me decide who to call for electrical issues going forward. I initially contacted the company listed on my electrical panel thinking they would know best since they performed the work during construction but they never followed up about coming to check the issue. I read several reviews on yelp and google reviews and Big Frog always appeared as the best within my area. My first experience was also very affordable. I was concerned it would cost a lot to have the problem fixed, depending on the cause, to the point where I put off grocery shopping until the issue was fixed. I set an appointment with Alan from Big Frog Electric for 10am to install a 70" tv (to which I have the email to prove the time) I waited until 10:30 before contacting him by text. He said his technician would call. At 11am I still hadn't received a call. I texted Alan again he said he would figure out his technicians eta. I never heard back. I texted Alan saying I couldn't wait any longer. Alan finally called me to say his technician was held up on another job but he could send someone new in about half an hour. That would have been TWO HOURS after our scheduled appointment. I said no thank you, that their customer service has been terrible. However, about ten minutes later I contacted him again asking if he would send his guy and install the upstairs tv at no additional charge to make up for the inconvenience.
