    Georgia Visitors Center, Lake Park
    Bruce K.

I pulled through this welcome center along I-75, just north of the Florida/Georgia border, hoping to find an RV dump site. Many of Georgia's rest areas have them. This one does not. Also, there are "Overnight parking prohibited" signs posted. Still, it was clean and welcoming at 7:30 am on a Friday. Lots of space, very clean and plenty of room. Parking is level and there seem to be plenty of security lights. [Review 1040 of 2024 - 709 in Georgia - 22068 overall]

A nice place to stop headed northbound into Georgia on I-75. The Georgia Visitor Information Center is located along the east side of I-75 when travelling northbound into the state. This Lake Park, GA stop serves as a welcoming place for travelers entering the state. There was plenty of parking with areas accommodating vehicles of all sizes, including RVs. They had picnic areas, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy a meal amidst pleasant surroundings which is next to a large body of water. It looked like the roof had a blue tarp on it but I did not see any issues from that. It has a blend of amenities and genuine Southern hospitality, making it a worthwhile stop for visitors. I recently stopped on the way to an event and was glad that I did. I used the restroom which was clean and seemed well maintained. After this I stopped in the center to look at what they had to offer. It was stocked with a wide array of brochures, maps, and guides detailing various attractions, accommodations, and dining options throughout Georgia. The staff was two ladies who were very pleasant and had suggestions on the best way to get to our destination and see some sights on the way. Overall, this center showed Georgia's commitment to providing a positive first impression to visitors to the state.

We stopped in on our trip to Atlanta and were pleasantly surprised. The restrooms are super clean and the staff here were really welcoming. The parking though was horrible when I went. I traveled after the holidays and everyone was on their way home. The parking was huge but it was full and hard to find parking since I went in the afternoon. There were many pamphlets that advertised the local restaurants and attractions. If I get the opportunity to I will definitely visit again. It is right on the highway and convenient to stop by for a rest.

Nice rest area! There is a garden area that I am sure is beautiful when in bloom. There are picnic tables all over the area. The whole place is very neat and clean. There is no WiFi here but the bathrooms are open 24 hrs. It's pretty nice inside and warm! It's in the low 40's outside tonight. The vending area is also closed at night. The whole area is well organized and planned nicely with no potholes to worry about. Plenty of parking with big rigs separate from cars and plenty of room for rv's! They have a sign posted for you to scan with your smartphone and give a review straight to the GDOT. Seems like they care about the place and want to keep it safe and clean. The signs inside say keep two turtles apart for safety. That's a unique way of saying six feet apart.

Super clean restrooms. Plenty of informative propaganda regarding GA attractions. Two ladies available to answer questions. Thank you Georgia

Disclaimer - I love Georgia Fact - I think this visitor center does a poor job representing the Sate of Georgia. RE: Pro and Cons The ATM was broken - I think the vending machines only takes exact change anyway, but there's no way to access cash to give to the homeless or those begging for gas money to get home. The Lottery Ticket dispenser was broken - the attendant has no key so don't ask - I know the winning ticket is right behind the glass The attendant was disconnected - no greeting no "Welcome to Georgia" - ohhhh this ain't the Welcome Center it's just a Visitor Center. The attendant didn't have change for the penny smashing machine - lucky we keep reserves in the RV - Hint: pay it forward and always pre-load the machine before walking away for those kids who done have change. The walk from the Truck and RV parking area is too far from the facilities - believe me walking back to getting penny smashing money in 100 degree heat isn't fun. You must merge into on-coming traffic twice to get back on the highway - it's as if the ability to leave was an afterthought look twice and live. No complimentary coffee on a Holiday weekend - vending coffee option The trash cans were filled and over-flowing - I didn't see any maintenance personnel anywhere. Cheap copy paper instructional signs tapes all over the place - do the rules or locations of the restrooms change so often that you can't have a placard. Believe me Georgia only gets better after exiting this stop...

Photo op- pretend you're on a rollercoaster, haha, or just rest.

Perfect pit stop! It is a rest stop, Museum and welcome center rolled into one. I didn't have time to go through the museum so I can't speak to it but the bathrooms and visitor center are clean and spacious. HINT: there are restrooms inside the visitor center that are less crowded than the restrooms in the separate building. There is a plethora of brochures and information on Georgia. I like their new visitor guide that has restaurants, events, etc for each part of GA. The staff was friendly and were working hard. There is a dog walking area, trees, picnic tables and land. Good place to stop.

If my trip is crossing the state line, I usually looking to stop at their welcome center. This welcome center has southern charm with the colonial building. The state line visitor's center alway has clean restroom. It one of the reason we stopped. This visitor's center like most of the visitor's center has restroom, free attraction brochure and map. The brochure is organized in categories not by area. It may it difficult to track and find if you just visit one corner of Georgia. But they do have concentrated Metro Atlanta area brochures. Map and question can be ask on the center. This day many information can be obtained on the website. But I still like to go into the visitor's center for the information in person. This one has movie prop. I am guessing they must has some commission to display the items.

Consistently a clean and welcome rest area just as you cross into Georgia from Florida on 75.

It's just a visitor center a place to pickup information goto the bathroom and get a drink or snack from a vending machine.

    Nice trees.

We stopped here on the way back to Tennessee from Florida. Nature was calling & we needed to switch drivers. Entering the rest area there are two buildings, the one on the left is the information/welcome center. The one on the right is the bathrooms. The property has large trees with Spanish moss hanging down. It's really a pretty place. The bathrooms aren't so pretty. The men's bathroom had 3 urinals, one of which was covered up with a trash bag. I guess it was broken. The floor was wet. I hope it was water & not urine. The sinks had a soap dispenser that had a cut up jug below it to catch the soap that was dripping. I hope they don't recycle the soap. This place needs an update. It would be okay if it had old world charm, but it's more third world charm. They need to remodel/rebuild the welcome center. Florida is showing y'all up. Just saying.

Love that a family restroom is available!
