I let them know that I have a child home with me, and they literally put me on hold to see if it was alright, then came back on, and even though they called me for that day- told me to stick to the original date. I had to actually convince them to let me book a cleaning. Good hygenist, very caring. When it came time to book for the gum treatment, they wanteed $150 just to meet with the dentist. This is not to get any gum recession work done, but - they cancelled the appt. for next week which included a dentist, so wanting to bill me for two separate visits didn't seem right. Not sure why there is good reviews for this dentist. As usual when you go to a dentist they miraculously find cavities right away (funny considering I just was at another dentist a month earlier and none were detected) regardless I agreed to have them filled. Well that was a mistake, had to go in on Wednesday as it's there only day open to times for people who work. Was at the appointment for almost 2 hours because the dentist kept leaving the room. Missed freezing my tooth 3 times (third needle she jammed into the bone of my jaw) so 40 minutes of drilling an unfrozen tooth. Than leaves the room again after she drills it for another 30 minutes (keep in mind there's an open hole in my tooth during this time). Also the hygienist squirted me multiple times on the arms and chest and multiple times forgot to turn on the suction while working on my mouth. Absolute travesty of a dentist. Strongly recommend avoiding! read more

BEWARE! Carefully review your bill. Georgian Dental charges for services they don't provide. When you question the charges, they act very concerned, tell you they'll investigate immediately and will get right back to you. You never hear from them. There are many good, honest, reputable dentists in Barrie. Avoid Georgian Dental. read more

I had an excellent experience - I had a split tooth - I couldn't get it done right away at my own dentist so I called Georgian Dental I spoke with Tara she got me in and the crown was done the next day by Dr Meghan and her Assistant - amazing! I am extremely fearful of dentists/needles but it didn't hurt at all and the next day I had only very slight discomfort - way to go Dr Meghan and her team. Very clean and professional environment - I will be switching to them from now on! read more

They say they are open to all but this is BS. If you are in receipt of OW or ODSP - then they recommend you go elsewhere. They will put you on a waiting list that is currently 6 months plus. I was in pain and had 3 broken teeth that need immediate attention. Funny how 3 years ago when I had insurance I was able to get right in. read more

We've had the fortunate opportunity to have Dr. Tan and his team take care of our kids' dental care over the last 3 years. We must say that we are more than impressed with their professionalism, expertise and ability to work with wriggly and squirmy kids in the dental chair. Our daughter who was 5 had real anxieties when it came to her routine teeth cleaning at a previous dentist. But when she came to Georgian Dental and had Jen treat her like a princess that very first time, coming to the dentist became a piece of cake! Our now 11 year old son had orthodontic issues requiring specialized expertise over the last 3 years and Dr. Tan has been able to, over time, correct the problem and improve his smile dramatically! Dr. Tan is highly knowledgeable and skilled in orthodontic care! He is also patient and great with kids! We highly recommend Georgian Dental's Dr. Tan and his wonderful staff to anyone who is in need of dental and orthodontic services! read more

One is always nervous about a dentist visit. Needed a crown for front tooth. Checked with one dental clinic. Told it will involve a couple of visits. A friend recommended Georgian Dentistry in Barrie that will do it one visit. Had an amazing experience. Dr. Tan took photos of the problem and surrounding teeth. Using computer software, it developed an 'image' of a crown which was sent to a machine that polished a piece of ceramic into a crown. Then, Dr. Tan used his skillful hand to polish n finish the crown. I saw the crown being developed right in front of my eyes!!! In about one and a half hours, I have a crown on my teeth. Thank you Dr. Tan n staff for the eye opening experience. read more

I am sad to say I am thoroughly disgusted in the lack of customer service they have provided as well as empathy for a situation that was totally in there control. My credit card was used for over 2000$ and was used to pay someone else's account that was unauthorized. When contacting them regarding the issue The treatment coordinator was more than helpful in trying to resolve the issue. However, the office manager was a completely different story. She was rude, abrasive and abrupt in basically telling me it was my fault. After many conversations and a run around, I was told I would receive the refund by cheque. Months have passed and I still have not received anything from the company. I have called multiple times, I have also tried contacting the doctor himself. Anytime I try calling I get told that the personnel I have to speak to are busy. Number one, the charge for someone else's treatment should never have been charged to my credit card. That is illegal and fraudulent. Number two, telling me I have to contact the persons whose account it looked after is not a solution to the problem. Furthermore; this is not a small bill this is a lot of money. I recommend people considering going to this clinic tread with caution. This is not a trustworthy dental office and really only care about the bottom line. read more
