Georgios offers a wide variety of hair and beauty services: hair cutting, colour, styling, body waxing, eyelash and eyebrow tinting, wigs and hair pieces. My previous stylist moved away and I didn't rush into just getting anybody to work on my stubborn Asian hair. One day, a student came in with a stellar hair colouring job and cut. When I complimented her hair, she said, "Touch it! It's so soft!" And yes, it was silky soft, so I asked for her stylist. Her name is Brenda. Well, Brenda is truly top notch. When I first saw her in January, she tsked tsked about my hair. My highlights had lost their fire and my roots weren't looking very well. She used three different shades of brown to colour my hair. "Brown?" I yelped. "But I have black hair?!?" She said it's a combo that works well on most ethnic hair. Sure enough, it was perfectly natural looking and silky soft. I asked for a style that said "I'm professional, snazzy and single" and she delivered. Last month, she called to let me know her new Magma colour book came in. Magma is designed for thick, ethnic hair and does the bleaching and colouring in one step. No heat. Brenda is really big on NOT over processing hair. Brenda deserves a standing ovation for what she had to go through on my hair. She followed the directions to the tee and yet only faint tinges of the red-brown sneak streaks remained. Attempt #2 was a rousing success. Brenda squeezed me in on Saturday and told me to bring a book since she was going to duke it out with my hair. I brought some work with me so I didn't really mind how long it took. She even helped me come up with a great title for the article I was writing. Brenda kept me wrapped in the foils for 105 minutes! That's probably 3X longer than the average person. We chanced about 10 - 15 minutes under heat. She checked my hair at regular intervals, so my hair was in good hands. The sneak streaks are a glorious red-brown and my hair is once again, so soft, silky and shiny. She didn't charge me for the failed attempt (naturally), nor did she charge me for the second attempt, since she claimed she was experimenting. I had to give her something to treat herself with because she worked so hard to get my hair to cooperate. Brenda is even going to submit our experience as a case study to Wella (producers of Magma) so that other stylists and clients can benefit from what we learned. If you have "stubborn, Asian hair" or "stubborn, [any ethnicity] hair" you have to see Brenda. She won't give up until she gets the perfect look for you (and becomes best friends with your hair). If you have normal hair, she'll do magic with your hair. If you are losing your hair, she will work with you to get the right hair pieces for you. I went to Brenda for a wig consultation - I had leukemia three times before, had several old wigs and needed a new one with a recent diagnosis of breast cancer. Her salon was inviting, her wig selection fantastic. I had called a number of Calgary wig places for Raquel Welch and Jon Renau brands, and Brenda was the only one who had both. Having worn wigs over a number of years due to chemotherapy, I can truly say Brenda REALLY knows how to style, fit and cut wigs. She did an incredible job trimming, thinning and updating my old wigs, turning them into current, wearable styles! One of them I was literally going to toss as it seemed a lost cause, and somehow she transformed into one I wear all the time now. I also tried on a number of new wigs, and Brenda's knowledge about the various types of caps, fronts, monos, etc was invaluable. Brenda did an AMAZING job on my hair for my wedding. I couldn't have found a better stylist and I am so lucky to have her. Last year, just after Christmas my mom was given the devastating news that she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The moment is etched in my brain and one that I will never forget. 2017 began with a whirlwind of appointments, tests and treatment. All so foreign to us and certainly not how we expected the New Year to begin. The support we've been provided throughout this journey has been phenomenal and while on our path, an angel by the name of Brenda was sent to us. Hair loss with chemotherapy is quite common and Brenda, the moment we talked, understood my concerns, was so empathetic and reassuring. I don't know if we could have gone through this part of the journey if she wasn't there to help us through it. She accommodated our schedule which seemed to be a moving target and was so kind. All while, she herself was dealing with her own family emergency. I can't thank her enough for what she gave us that day when we went to see her -- she gave my mom's smile back. Priceless. My hair has been thinning progressively for sometime now, so much so that it was affecting my confidence out in public. I wanted to try a wig solution but I was confused about the information online, head measurements, etc. I wanted a wig but I did not want to waste my money buying something I really did not know anything about. Then I found Georgios! Brenda is a very caring woman and very knowledgable about wigs and hair. She answered all my questions and more. Her salon is a very comfortable and private environment for you to address and discuss what can be a sensitive issue.
