My RMT was late. She showed up hungover for work then spent the first 25 mins of the massage drinking her coffee and water. She tried to talk during my massage. Then she tried to do cupping on me when I specified I did not want this done before my appointment. The receptionist was laughing about it because she thought it was funny. This place is completely racist and unprofessional. I had to stop the massage less than a half hour into a 90 minute session that was to be in complete silence. Do not go to Carrington. read more

Danu's changed hands, and the new owners are super friendly. They've changed the place around already, much to my surprise. The storefront now lacks many of the new age goodies they once had, but it feels much more like a spa. I used my benefits and had a lovely, relaxing massage (they fit me in last minute!). I'm excited to see the direction they take centre in. The yoga is still going to continue, which is my favourite aspect. I also took a spin in the infrared sauna, which was pleasant if hot. Apparently it is very beneficial to your health. They seem to be expanding their spa operations. Plus they help out the community with fundraisers etc. Who doesn't love the people who give back? read more

Front end was really disorganized. Didn't even listen to me when I was checking in and thought I was someone completely different. Massage Therapist was very nice and sweet but the massage itself was one of the worst I've had to be honest. A lot of elbows and forearms and efflorage. Bright lights left on until I flipped over and I could tell my therapist was sick because she was breathing through her mouth and sniffling throughout the treatment. After the front end said "sorry hope it's okay you don't get a receipt" since the printer wasn't working. I said I needed one for my benefits, she then said she'd email it; I had to call to have her send it because she forgot. Lovely space, Emminence is one of my favourite product lines and maybe my experience was a one off but it seemed very unprofessional and disjointed to be honest. read more

I just returned from a pre-holiday massage - I am now relaxed, centered and ready to take on all of the joys and dysfunction that Christmas brings! This year I used the massage services of Leela often. I had a knee issue that made my quad tighten up on a regular basis. I found massage therapy helped immensely when I was unable to work the knots out my quads on my own. Sadly my regular massage therapist at Leela left for Europe this past summer, but happily she recommended Katherine S. who gives a wicked therapeutic massage (can be intense), but is exactly what my body needs. Leela has a nice zen-like feel when you walk in and the receptionist is always friendly. The online booking system is easy and the wait to have an appointment confirmed is usually pretty short. The rooms and massage tables are very comfortable. The rates are about average. Overall I have been extremely pleased with my experiences at Leela. read more

Very small sized spa, but it does have everything you would expect. First, I love the infrared sauna in the separate room. It's like a little one person dry sauna. You get the whole bathroom to yourself, so sauna and shower room is yours. I get most my regular massages here, yet I don't have a designated massage therapist, but so far they are all great. Last therapist I had was Sidney...Leah? Oh god I'm a horrible customer. She was fantastic, and really focused on the spots I addressed. Prices for massages are decent and just enough to be covered by insurance (if you have that work perk). I've dropped in for yoga before, and it's a nice and quiet small sized class. Seems like it was all regulars and the group is very friendly. The area is clean, tidy, and this month it's bring a friend for free month too. They never push to sell me anything, or upsell services I don't need. And that's why I keep coming back. My only setback is the front desk lady doesn't seem too warm or friendly at all. I really like this spa/yoga studio. I LOVE the "PS I love Yoga" Plus Size yoga class- if I had a car, I'd be going every weekend. It's so important to have accessible communities like this for me as a big girl and yogi :) I've also recently had a massage there. While it's more than I would usually pay for a 60 min massage ($90+GST+tips) if your insurance covers it, it's worth it. My partner got a "couples massage" and both of the masseuses did a wonderful job. We felt it for days (we asked them to go haaaard) and we slept like babies that night! Overall, I love the feel of this place, I wish I could afford to go more often, but I think in this market the prices are fair (it's just my personal income that isn't fair!! whine whine whine) read more

My massage was great however my spouse found it very hard to fully relax during his because there was soft rock music playing instead of the typical (and more appropriate) tranquil/relaxation music that you always hear at spas. I was also very disappointed by the front desk staff. I purchased some skin care products which are great but instead of doing two separate transaction the lady at the desk put my massage and products on the same one so I ended up tipping on the massage and products not just the massage. Seemed a bit shady to me. In a city with so many great spas these little details do make a difference and we won't be returning. read more

54 minutes ago I had a hot stone massage for the very first time last weekend at the Beltline location and I was nervous and apprehensive when going in. I had a massage with Nataliya and not only did she greet me in a warm and professional manner immediately, she made me feel at ease and comfortable in her professionalism and tone and mannerisms. Now I don't usually write reviews, but I had to take the time to appreciate and commend Nataliya on what an amazing job she did and the great experience I had with her. I would highly recommend this spa and Nataliya to all of my friends, co-workers and family as I think everyone should have an amazing experience as I did. The only downside was I was poorly received by the front staff member working the day of Saturday January 19. The reason I sought this spa out was because of the amazing reviews I read online about it and was highly disappointed by the unprofessionalism and curt and rude way I was treated the second I walked in the door. The reason I would go back is to see Nataliya again. Hopefully I have a better customer service experience my next visit. read more

Recently had a 60 minute customized massage here. I was really looking forward to it and thought I would give Leela a try. I had been to the boutique location for a pedicure some time ago and had a good experience. In any case I cannot say the same for the massage. I booked a 60 min massage and was 15 min early. The therapist took me back exactly on time, but it was actually 50 min hands on time. The room was so small it felt very claustrophobic. Although I have had several massages over the years I felt that the temperature control in the room was poor, I couldn't breathe because it was so warm. I was counting down the minutes for it to end. No essential oils were used or offered (many massages places I have been to use a Japanese peppermint oil). No water offered before or after the massage. The last 10 min of the massage was on my neck and I am not sure if the therapist was tired but she sat there massaging the same area over and over. I felt so nauseous but thought I would just push through as the massage was almost over. Later that evening all my neck muscles tightened up / spasmed that I couldn't even sleep that night. All in all was not the experience I was expecting after reading all the great reviews. Likely will never go back. read more

As stated in most of my reviews, I'm a spa junkie and always on the lookout for amazing spas. This place caught my attention because of their cupping therapy massage. My friend swore by cupping so I had to try it. I did 1 hour of dry cupping as they do not do wet cupping. It was my first time and I wasn't sure what to expect. All I know is I came home feeling elated and weightless with dark black/blue cupping marks all over my back, shoulders, neck and arms and crashed into a comatose sleep like never before. That was not a normal nap, it was the deepest I have slept ever! I'm now hooked on to cupping and do it very often. :) read more

I had a great experience at Leela Eco Spa! I booked an appointment for a 60 min sports massage using their online booking system and it was so seamless and straight forward. When I arrived for my appointment, I delighted to see such a warm and inviting atmosphere, and was greeted by a friendly receptionist. My massage was booked with Lani and she was incredible! She made me feel 100% comfortable and used the perfect level of pressure. The massage oil is even lavender scented! Everything about this experience was relaxing. After my massage, I was happy to discover that Leela does direct billing for insurance claims. Having had many massages at many different spas, this was a first for me, and it really takes the hassle out of having to mail in your receipt. Overall, I would definitely recommend Leela Eco Spa to my friends and look forward to my next visit! read more

Another day, another massage...which always makes for a GREAT DAY! I have been going to Leela for maybe 4 years now (it's very close to my house so uber convenient), and it has changed hands the once in that time. Previously it was Danu and seemed to be far more cluttery with a lot of retail product. I prefer to new Leela and how it operates now. I always find the staff to be very laid back and fun - but also professional and accommodating. My massage therapist is amazing, exceptional, fun, and pretty (not that you need that to give a good massage:). Since starting to go to Emily K about 4 years ago, I have only ever booked with her so we have gotten to know each other well - and my only complaint is that she is following a personal dream to move to another continent this May, so alas I will have to move on from my love affair with the best masseuse ever! sad times - but a friend was gained. Leela still carries a small amount of spa products, is well known for their yoga studio which I have gone to and enjoyed, and also has a menu of other services (facials being one of which I intend to try out shortly). The building they are in is eco friendly which is also very cool. The prices are cheaper than mainstream spa locations as it's not as "upscale" but is a pretty awesome place for that Saturday morning massage to start off the weekend. read more

I love this place. Super easy online booking, also very easy to get a last minute appointment as there are so many massage therapists working on any given day. They used to give a discount to Car2Go members but no longer offer it which is a bit frustrating. I thought that was a pretty unique thing and I respected them for it. I started using leela eco spa several weeks ago with an amazing living social deal (20 classes for $20 I believe) and I was not disappointed. I am still a beginner yogi, having just started yoga this past year, but I found there are several classes suited to my skil level and at convenient times for a Monday to Friday working girl like myself. I've gone to classes taught by two of the instructors, and both seemed very kind and knowledgeable. My living social voucher is now up but I'll be signing up for more. As an Added bonus, I can chose to pay for unlimited yoga or punch cards - nice to have the flexability! read more

The facility is really nice and the RMTs provide great massages, but the overall atmosphere is a bit unprofessional for what I would expect from a "spa". On three separate occasions my massage appointments were cancelled by Leela for reasons such as "the therapist didn't show up for work". If you can manage to get an appointment, the massages are great and the people are friendly. I really wish they would take customer's needs more seriously though. read more

Have to agree with the other reviewers - Leela Eco Spa is great! They were able to fit me in last minute for a 60 minute sports massage with Ashley. Everything from the greeting at reception to the massage itself was really impressive. If I were going to improve anything - and really, this is very minor - I found the ambiance music during my massage a little odd. Some sort of classical/orchestra music meets a traditional spa relaxation soundtrack. Wasn't really that bad, but hearing Beethoven's 9th brought back funny memories of childhood music lessons. read more

I have been going to this spa for 5/6 months now and I personally love it. Jessica is my massage therapist and she's amazing. She always asks how my body is feeling before we begin....she knows that I am a runner so she likes to know my prob areas before starting. She does great work on my legs and even worked on a hip flexor (NOT fun but necessary for me) and it really helped. After she tells me what areas I need to stretch out for or look out for......no complaints here!! read more

I was really looking forward to a spa day here, especially after reading the rave reviews... but I was left disappointed. I got a massage, a body scrub and a facial here. The receptionist was really nice, the place was very clean and had a good atmosphere. I went into my massage appointment, by the time I got into the room, it was 1:17. The masseusse did the standard thing where she left the room so I could change. She didn't come back into the room until 1:24. It generally doesn't take people that long to get undressed. The massage itself was actually really good, she did a good job. But then she ended the massage exactly at 2:15. I felt really short-changed that she took forever to start and then didn't even give me the full hour. At 2:30 I went in for a body scrub and facial. The body scrub was really not very good. She put the tiniest towel on me, and I'm a fairly short person, it barely covered me. She used lukewarm water the whole time to wipe the scrub off of me, and the tiny towel didn't provide much coverage, I was freezing the entire time. The facial was also really not very good. I felt like the entire time, she just exfoliated my face, there was barely any extractions done, she used a really coarse towel to wipe my face. My face was just really raw after. After that, I went to go and pay. I had purchased some gift certificates for the spa and none of them worked. I'm not sure who's fault that was, it could very well have been the place I bought them from and not Leela's fault. But either way, after a disappointing spa day, I was extra disappointed that the gift cards didn't even end up working. I would not go back and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. read more

I have been going here every couple weeks for massage for over 2 years. I accidentally booked with a therapist I was unfamiliar with. If this hadn't happened they would be getting 5 starts. The massage was horrible and caused a terrible headache and pain for a few days. Truly the worst massage I've ever received. The worst part is that I privately emailed them about my concerns and no one had the decency to respond. That made me think I should say it publicly. Poor business practice to not respond to a complaint that was done privately and with the respect I felt they deserved. I guess they yay didn't feel the same way. It was my bad planning that plunked me into this place for a Brazilian wax. I called around and they were the only ones who could fit me in, that should have been a warning. All seemed well at first, it's a clean, quiet place. Then quickly went downhill, the esthetician had no clue how to position someone for a Brazilian wax, the room wasn't set up for ease of access to the wax, and truly she had no clue what she was doing. She had trouble pulling off the wax, she did the front half but not the back half (which I asked for) and left the room in a hurry. I stood up and quickly realized that wasn't the thing to do. My bits down there were glued together with wax. It was on the insides of my legs, now all over my jeans. I shuffled to the receptionist, paid and left. At home, it took 1/2 cup of Olive oil (that's all I had to work with, I was in no shape to go to the store) and about 45 mins to clean up the waxy, gluey mess, only to realize that she managed to miss most of the hair anyway, so not sure what she was actually working on. Save your $57.75, they're not worth the hassle. Lots of other places in town are excellent if you plan ahead! read more
