Scam for overcharge, which I am still trying to fight. I asked for a replacement of a single front parking sensor - no other damages on the car, because there was no collision. When giving me the estimate, the estimator was very nice, pointing to the $425 charge, saying that if there are no other damages, he will be honest and will remove this charge. Later I was charged the full amount of $962.10. When I called for the estimator to clear what I thought was a misunderstanding, he was gone. The mechanic showed me the replaced single parking sensor, while the manager gave me some prints telling me that the calibration was required by Toyota. Only the print was about the Adaptive Cruise Control - completely independent from the parking assist system. At the following meeting with the manager and the estimator, the estimator denied his promise, and became very unpleasant. The manager refunded only $70, and on my question what for, she said for the in-house pre-scan. I let them know that they still owe me the rest of $355, for which I will fight.There was no calibration required on any of the other estimates for the same repair, and since after subtracting the calibration of $425, Gerber's estimate was the cheapest, I trusted their guy - big mistake. In blogs, people warn that if the mechanic says that after replacing a parking sensor, calibration is required, go to another one. Somehow they erase all negative feedback on google. Recently, my car was rear-ended and had some significant damage. I sent the vehicle to Gerber in Champaign, based on recommendations of a couple co-workers. Everyone I spoke to, or met with, at Gerber was very nice and extremely helpful. The repairs took about two weeks and during that time Ryan contacted me every few days to give me updates. He explained, in detail, what they were doing throughout the process and answered every question I had in a way that made it easy to understand. The job was finished two days earlier than estimated and the quality of the work is fantastic. You would have no idea there was ever any damage to the rear end. I'm extremely satisfied and will recommend them whenever the opportunity arises. read more

No no no. I write this to you in my near new car that I hit a deer with over a year ago. After several months at gerber the car came back to me. Air conditioning has never worked. Been to gerber many times to have it checked. Oh silly me it just needs freon every 2-3 weeks!!! Or is it possible there is a leak? No way gerber says. So I sweat. Could not be happier with the work done at the Champaign, IL location. Both of my vehicles were damaged by hail this summer. My 2013 and 2017 vehicles look absolutely brand new! Ready when promised, handled ALL of the communication and payment directly with AAA. All I had to do was drop off and pick up my vehicles. Go ahead and read the reviews by Esteban and Kyle because they pretty much sum up what I'm about to say. Tomorrow will be the second time I'm taking my car back to Gerber. What was supposed to be a 10-day repair initially dragged on to over month. Upon receiving my car back the first time, I immediately took it back due to some serious issues that they missed. They must not have test-driven it after repairing it because the issues were so obvious. It took another week. Tomorrow, I will be bringing my car back for the second time due to a severe concern for my safety and the quality of work that was done to my car. Clearly, there is a severe lack of competency by Gerber. This is evident through the other (albeit few) reviews posted here, through the opinions of other friends who have had the misfortune of dealing with Gerber, and through the opinion of another repair shop I've dealt with in the past. They have ordered wrong parts on multiple occasions, failed to meet promised deadlines countless times, and it seems like they can't properly finish a job. There is a serious lack of communication. Never expect a call back, I can promise this. Every time they promised to call me regarding my car's status, they said they'd call by a certain time. That time would pass, and I would always have to call them only to find out that there were more delays with my car. I'm not sure how hard it is to call your customers, but it's not a priority with Gerber. I can go on, but I will stop here. Luckily my insurance agent (Esurance) has been fantastic in helping me with my claim. Without her, I would have snapped by now, but it was only through her help that I have maintained my sanity. I am 100% confident in her ability to deal with Gerber again. Unfortunately, I may have to switch my insurance company. Gerber is the only shop in CU that I can take my car to (same with Esurance's parent company) through Esurance. God forbid anything ever happen to my car again, I never want to deal with Gerber again. I wouldn't wish Gerber upon my worst enemies as it would be a cruel and unusual punishment. read more

I came here to fix my bumper in spite of being nervous because of the other review on here. not trying to disrespect anyone, but my experience was great! Rob the manager came out and looked at my back bumper (the one needing to be fixed) and stated theyd have it ready to go in 2 days. I got my car back good as new a little later than the time that was quoted and am on the 90 days same as cash plan. So far my experience has been great as my car looks great and I haven't come across any problems that were caused by their repairs. This will be given 5 stars after I know my payments have been processed. Lets hope their payment dept is as good as the overall service I recieved. read more

I went to Gerber Collision on Friday April 12, 2019 to replace a broken windshield on my truck. I was told that the windshield will be in on the following Tuesday April 16, 2019. I waited all morning for a call that Tuesday to see what time I should bring my truck in. No call what so ever. Then I decided to give them a call. My call was sent back and forth to different people, and none of has the answer. The person that I talked to when I placed the order on Friday was no where to be found and will not answer my call, even when I called his cell phone. After a dozen attempts, he finally call me back with a disappointing answer. He doesn't has my order and won't be able to fulfill my order. What the f**k! I didn't shop around because I was relying on them. After almost a week I am without a truck. read more

Read the previous reviews for this place and although it wasn't great, thought I'd give them a chance. Brought my vehicle for inspection. They gave me an estimate and said they'd call me in a few days to setup an appointment. Well, two weeks past and I get a phone call from Gerber. Apparently, I had missed an appointment to repair my vehicle. Not the call I was expecting. I explained the situation and Gerber apologized for the mix up. They asked if I wanted to reschedule but I declined. We didn't get on the right foot in the first place so I did not want to bother. Plus, the lack of service and communication on their part frustrates me so I'll bring my business elsewhere. Obviously, they have some things to work on but it won't be on my vehicle. read more

The car was done early but I had to go back 4 times to get the paint correct the rear quarter panel and trunk still is not right and Ive been waiting over a week for the part to come in to fix it they told me they didnt think to order a new part that I would be ok with how it was. HORRIBLE customer service. They did a good job repairing the car but the emotional stress that they gave me does not compensate it. The car took almost 3 months to repair. 3 MONTHS!! What made it worse is that every time I called them, they told me that the manager would get back to me with updates and an explanation why the repair was taking so long. Out of the 3 times I called them, the manager NEVER got back to me. I had to finally go to the shop to get them do something or even care about our car. This kind of customer service was UNACCEPTABLE. Please save yourself lots of unnecessary stress and go somewhere else. read more

My experience with Gerber was great! It took a little longer than expected due to certain parts that had to be ordered, but they called me often to keep me updated which I really appreciated. My car has pearly white paint that they matched the repairs to perfectly. I've been told in the past that the color is extremely hard to get exact, but they did a flawless job. ISSUE: Broken driver's side mirror. Smashed it right off on a metal pole backing out of my tiny campus parking spot one day. QUOTE: Over $380 total. I was in pure sticker shock, very upset and very confused. It wasn't until I got home that I realized I was quoted way beyond reason. My boyfriend was with me in the car when I knocked the mirror off and he sat silently on his phone as we drove to Gerber, looking up how to replace the mirror on YouTube and how much the new mirror should cost. QUOTE ISSUES: 1. On the Gerber quote the arm of the mirror itself was about $180, $40 more than ordering from the manufacturer through Amazon with Prime. 2. Gerber also wanted to order a piece that was not damaged (it's called a skullcap; its a piece of plastic on the frontside mirror that matches the car paint color). They also wanted to paint it. I did not know this until the boyfriend inspected the obnoxious quote. From his online research he learned that the skullcap simply pops off and should be reused on a new replacement mirror. 3. Labor for over an hour (this might be realistic if I needed the skullcap painted, the actual replacement on the mirror/arm takes less than 5 minutes) We got home from Gerber, parked in the alley and manually disassembled the mirror from the car and found out that they had quoted us for something we didn't need (skullcap and skullcap painting), and something that we could easily fix ourselves with just an Allen wrench and our bare hands. I ordered a new passengers side mirror from my car manufacturer through Amazon for approx. $140. It came in a couple days later and took 5 minutes to replace. LESSON: Educate yourself on the parts that are being replaced. I am embarrassed they almost took advantage of me and that I almost got ripped off over $240. read more

First off, they did a fantastic job on my car. Looks brand new. In addition to fixing my dinged bumper, they detailed the inside of my car. Sweet! Customer Service - Perfect. All staff were extremely professional and polite. They also dealt with the insurance company so that I didn't have to. They even called the rental car company to pick me up when they were late to get me. 10/10, will return if I ever need any more body work. read more

To be fair to Collision Revision, I should probably write an update on my review, since they did put forth some more effort to fix things. I contacted my insurance company to express my concerns with the repairs and this shop and they got me in touch with the VP of Operations of Collision Revision, Bryan Perino. Bryan was very nice and understanding, and really seemed to care about my issues and was willing to fix them. He came down from the Chicagoland area to look over my car and discuss the issues with me. They put my car back in the shop for a week and then Bryan came back down again to make sure all was done properly. At this point my car is much better, but still has some issues (and new ones are springing up with time). It took 2.5 months, 4 separate returns of my car to the body shop, and a call/visit with the VP of Operations to get things even this far, and some of these repairs really don't seem to be lasting. As such, I still can't recommend this particular Collision Revision, but after speaking with Bryan I have a feeling that it might just be this particular shop which is bad, not the whole chain. read more

By far the worst experience with an auto body shop. Took almost 2 months and multiple trips to even get the damaged fixed halfway right. First trip bumper was not put on correctly and paint was chipped. Was told that it was a rock that made it but it was that way when car was picked up. Second trip grill and fog lights were loose to the point of being able to pull them halfway out of the bumper. Also bumper was loose to where it made noises while drive. Third trip supposedly put on new bumper but pieces are still loose. If ever in an accident and geico is the other persons insurance and they tell you to take it there DO NOT. Find another shop. Horrible work. Horrible customer service. Horrible communication. read more

So pissed right now. For 3 weeks this place has given me a date that my car was going to be ready. A day before the ready date they called me to tell me it would she done early. They left a voicemail so I have proof to show what they said and when they called. I show up the NEXT DAY driving 3 hours from my home and when I show up they say my car is not ready. Wtf why would you even call me. Customer service seemed nice over the phone as the work was being done. I had confidence in this shop and they let me down hard. I'm in the military I took a whole day of leave to come here. Now they are compensating me. They are giving me a rental car and they gave me some cash for gas. Only 25 dollars though when I paid 40 to get down here. They didn't even bother to ask how much I spent on gas. The car is now supposed to be ready on Monday it is Friday. I have never been more inconvenienced in my entire life. This is why people write reviews so other people do not have to go through the same thing. I understand there is such thing as human error but come on YOU HAD ONE JOB. read more
