I am mostly happy with the overall result of the project, and the cost was more affordable than other businesses with whom I discussed the project. However, I will say the process to get to the final result could have been much smoother. NSKB's communication was lacking. From the beginning of the process when I was working with the designer to pick out finishes, I would have to reach out myself whenever I wanted an update because I would go weeks (sometimes over a month) without getting any information. When I did reach out, I usually had to follow up multiple times before I finally got an email back. I was told a start date for my project, and then when I reached out with a question later the designer mentioned a different date. The change had not been run by me or communicated to me. Had I not reached out myself, I wouldn't have known until they showed up that morning to start. The painters had to come back multiple times for touch ups after finishing the initial job. They got paint on my under-cabinet lighting and hardware because they didn't tape around or remove them; they just painted around things. Paint was spilled on my floors and the NSKB team was able to clean it up a majority of the way, but there is a permanent spot that is darker than the rest of my floor. The team also lost two pieces from hinges and were not able to hang the last cabinet door. It took NSKB almost 2 months to come back and find a solution after I followed up with them multiple times. Overall, the project that was supposed to be completed in early December ended up taking until the end of January.

Sadly, they did not sell cheese bags anymore. At least I don't think they do, I never saw a single employee as I went through the entire store. Everything was laid out and labeled well, so I doubt I missed them, but I will never know because there was no one there to ask!

She hired them to remodel her home and trusted them to handle what should have been a straightforward renovation. Instead, within a short period of time, the paint in her bathroom began chipping, the sink cracked, and other things stopped working properly. Even more concerning was how they handled her requests during the project. She asked for completely standard things--a particular faucet, an appropriate sink size, and a grab bar for the shower. They would not accommodate any of her requests. She was actually told they couldn't get her a grab bar for her shower. A grab bar. Home Depot has an entire selection of them. How can a company that specializes in home design and remodeling claim they can't accommodate such basic requests?? Then there is the pricing. Items that can be purchased for a fraction of the cost were marked up dramatically--for example, a showerhead costing around $100 being charged at $750. There is nothing wrong with a business making a profit, but customers deserve transparency and reasonable value for what they're paying. And then things got even worse. The company owner's personal belongings were dumped into the client's dumpster, leaving the client unable to use it for her own renovation waste. But perhaps the most disturbing part of the entire experience was how she was treated when she finally confronted them about it. She was told: "It was easy to take advantage of you." Read that again. "It was easy to take advantage of you." This says everything you need to know about how this company views its customers. People trust contractors and designers with their homes, their money, and sometimes in their most vulnerable moments. They deserve honesty, professionalism, respect, and quality workmanship--not to be treated as an opportunity to make an excessive profit because someone is trusting or going through a difficult time. Please know exactly who you're trusting with your home and your hard-earned money! No one should be made to feel like they were an easy target. People deserve better than this!

We paid in full for his work after the cabinets were delivered. He was pleasant and easy to communicate until we paid. When cabinet's installation was completed, a fair amount of adjustment and improvement was necessary, but Tad was nowhere to be found. He has not been returning our phone calls or answering text messages. Only the pressure from our general contractor made him come over once to fix just one of many problems. He promised to come again to finish the rest of the work soon, but we have not seen or heard from him since (6 months).
