This festival is great for any first-time goers who have heard about the legend of the antique festival, however, after year one (or even two), you start to notice that each installment of the festival consists of the same vendors in the same places trying to sell the same things.

Nice baseball centric park located in Springfield Township. At the heart of the complex are four…read morewell maintained ball diamonds. The outfield grass is thick and cut to proper length unlike the rock pit I played on when I was a kid growing up in Flint. Infield is nicely groomed and being well maintained where you can tell it is being dragged on a regular basis. The one negative though is that it appears to be a crushed stone field versus dirt. This is OK for the young kids but I can see it being a bit more problematic with older teens where hard hit line shots can leave you being a bit gun shy about bad bounces when it hits one of the small stones. A bit of personal preference here on my part where a well maintained dirt infield or a combination of groomed grass/dirt would definately be better. Last thing to note about the fields are that the player benches are located outside of the diamond behind the fence. The positive is the kids are protected by line drives but the negative is there is no separation between the players and their parents allowing them to co-mingle with the players which is a definite distraction during the game and a little bit of an annoyance to the coaches. Aside from the ball diamonds there would also appear to be a concession building with bathrooms which is a big positive. The concession building was not open during my grandsons game and not sure if this is normal or a result of the Covid virus safety pre-cautions. In any event definately better than many of the parks that are lacking this type of infra-structure. Overall a nice facility where it actually makes you feel good when you see some of the better things that our tax dollars are paying for relative to family/community activities. Facilities like this were not available where I grew up and I am very pleased as both a tax payer and long time Oakland county resident to see Oakland county incorporate this into their annual budgets. Nice job Oakland/Springfield!

This is such a great little, picturesque park located to the right of the Clarkston Village…read moreoffices. It's a smaller space that's very well-designed with undulating grounds, sufficient open spaces, 2 little bridges that go over a small river (creek?) with ducks, a gazebo, and lots of trees. There are no grills or anything, but lots of perfectly placed sitting benches (even a few swinging ones) and a decent amount of picnic benches. It's a great place to walk the pups, the love interest in your life, or have a blanket or bench picnic with the family. I believe the gazebo side has hosted outdoor weddings and I have seen pro photographers snapping pics of their subjects (just to give you an idea of the looks of it). The kids playground has enough activity sets that are nicely spread out for tiny kids and big kids. My 3 y/o son loves coming here. I think it's his favorite spot thus far. He loves seeing the ducks who are super tame and will come right up to you on the banks expecting to be fed. Unfortunately, feeding birds like this makes them dependent on handouts and I didn't see any signs forbidding it so far. Maybe the ducks are on the Village dole on the off-season, who knows? Bread is really not the best to feed them with (little nutritional value), so consider taking things like cracked, corn, fresh peas, or grape HALVES (per the internet...so you may want to double check that info). If you decide to visit the park, also take the opportunity to walk the Village's small main street or walk off a date meal at one of the local hot spots (Union Woodshop and Clarkston Union). The walkable residential street of Holcomb (off Washington) has some nice old houses to look at or drive by. When you turn onto Depot Rd (keep your eyes peeled, you just might miss it), the parking lot is on the left across from the offices. They have doggie poo bag stations and (the one minus) porta-potties for bathrooms. Top Yelp-rated Cook's Dairy (ice cream) in Ortonville can be integrated into a trip to Clarkston Village. It's only 10 minutes away going up M-15.

This indoor golf simulation opened in October 2023. My…read morefirst time using this simulator was on a busy Saturday afternoon in February. There are 6 simulator bays and two small putting greens. This establishment does have food available by ordering from a Hungry Howies thats located nearby. There are drinks available as well as snack items you can purchase. There isn't any beer or alcohol served here. I heard they have applied for a liquor license so that could be forthcoming. What separates this simulator is that you can track analytics for your shots using a free app you download. This gives you the ability to know how far you're hitting each club, etc. For me, this is a huge advantage as I use these indoor simulators to work on my game when the weather isn't conducive to play outdoors.
