The Jermaine's luau was an authentic luau on the beach, the entertainment was awesome, with the fire dancers and the food was good. This was my second time. The last time was in 1983, It didn't disappoint.

I knew I wanted to go to a luau in Hawaii and Germaine's was such a fun one to go to! We did not take the bus to the venue so I cannot speak to that experience but I can say that when we arrived parking was really easy. We were welcomed warmly by every staff member we encountered. We also loved receiving our necklaces and being able to take a group photo with one of the dancers. When you enter the venue you completely forget you're in an industrial area. The venue is right on the beach, complete with sea breeze and gently-swaying palm trees. We had a table in the second row and had a perfect view of the stage. The bar, soft drink/coffee area and restrooms were all easy to identify and access. The drinks were fair - two drink tickets were included in the price of our tickets. I had 4 cocktails (two Blue Hawaii's, Mai Tai and a vodka soda) and didn't really feel much but they were quite yummy. The food was actually a lot better than some of these reviews give it credit for! I particularly enjoyed the kalua pig, island fish and the beef. It was especially cool to be able to watch the pig being pulled from the underground oven! The show itself was absolutely spectacular. I loved the review of dances from all different Pacific islands and our MC was ravishing - she had a fun, beautiful personality and gorgeous voice. The band was great, the costumes were mesmerizing and the performances were all top-notch. Huge shout out to the Chief and his fiery performance! Thank you Germaine's for a wonderful night! I'll be sure to return the next time I'm in Hawaii.

I debated with family/myself if I should post this review but reading all the 1-2 star review with my same complaints -- I think this should be shared as Germaine's promised me that they will make changes with operations but apparently the problems keep repeating/happening FOR YEARS. Germaine's Lua was recommended by family, friends and clients. This was my first luau and celebrated my birthday here. First, they told us TO SIT AT ANY TABLE WITHOUT any reservation cards. There are tables that says reserved, some none. We sat at a green mantel table and just about before the show started -- we were told to present our "folders" rudely as this is a reserved table WITHOUT any reserved placards. We then moved to a table without any mantel. This guy didnt say a word, eventually just as the female host started talking -- this guy told us we can't sit at a table without a mantel. He then proceeded to SQUEEZE IN EACH MEMBER OF MY FAMILY ON DIFFERENT TABLES. This is a family affair and he wanted us to squeeze in to DIFFERENT tables. How smart is that? We were one of numerous families that complained. WHY HAVE SO MANY TABLES IF PEOPLE CAN'T USE IT. They eventually Opened another table. Didn't get an apology from this guy. As much as the show was good -- it didn't feel welcoming from the start. I didn't feel welcome. I felt forced to do things I didn't want. This totally ruined my birthday, ruined my vacation. So unhappy. I complained via email and I got really offended when they said "Maybe they were thinking you were trying to pull a fast one." Whoever called me was very confrontational but eventually mellowed down and apologized. She said she will make sure operational changes happen. They gave us the option of DOING THE LUAU again for free or get a 20% off. I really don't think I want to do this luau again. Why? My complaints were the same complaints from years ago. It will fall on deaf ears.

If you're looking for an exceptional Hawaiian luau place -- look no further! Germaine's got it all. The staff is extremely patient and friendly. Each person we interacted with had a positive demeanor and looked happy to be helping out. This really added to our experience! The food is to die for. Normally, I am not a fan of buffet style meals, but Germaine's was an exception. So many flavorful, authentic Hawaiian food choices to pick from! I filled my plate and ended up cleaning it. The luau performances were incredible. I am very happy with my decision to visit Germaine's. Definitely worth the price!

Advanced reservations are recommended. We booked direct from their website and saved 10% off. Not much social distancing at your very own table, but since it's outdoors, it wasn't too bad. Masks required when roaming around. The MC eventually asked everyone to stop taking pictures by the water because too many people were crowding around the area, but it was a beautiful location inside the venue. Outside driving in looks more like an industrial area. Parking was easy and that the attendant has you scan a code for your party for contact tracing. The drive was about 30-45 minutes from Honolulu/Waikiki area, depending on traffic. They also offer pick-up from hotels near Waikiki, I think it was $25-35/pp. You line up to get your tickets for the night (which includes the free drink tickets), then there's a line for photos with one of the performers, and then there's a line to get shown your seats & table and grab some appetizers & water. A bit difficult to socially distance when waiting for drinks at the bar and all the lines...It was a full house when we went (08/22), the MC mentioned 600 ppl total... Drinks at the bar averaged $5, but each adult gets at least 1 free alcoholic drink. Sodas are complimentary. The food wasn't served until around 7pm and they call the side tables (with the standard package) to get up and get the food one at a time. (I'm guessing prior to COVID, it was buffet style.) Then after everyone's been served, they allow people to grab seconds. Food was okay, what I expected. The appetizer was a salad and fruits and Lomi (Salmon & Tomato Salad), and Poi. I didn't like the poi here. Kalua Pig was a bit dry and salty, the BBQ Chicken was good, Mac Salad was fine. There was also a dinner roll and a couple of small desserts (coconut and I can't remember what else). The performance was just okay. I haven't been to a luau since I was younger so I'm not sure if my memory serves me incorrectly, but I just felt like the one I went to before was longer. The chief fire dancer is still my favorite, though! Given everything going on with COVID and all the new protocols, I think Germaine's is good. If you want to get the more expensive package, you can avoid the some of the lines because the servers will come right to your table for the food and drinks.

The location of the luau is the best, we loved how it was on the beach and we could take pictures before there and dog our toes in the sand during the luau. We bought the Plumeria package, which came with closer seating, a waiter, 3 drink tickets, lei necklace, and souvenir items photos. If you have the money to splurge I would: this all made our time very enjoyable. We loved the souvenir photos to document our trip with. The food was okay; nothing wonderful but I didn't expect that going into it. It's not a buffet due to Covid but our waitress's brought it out to us on a tray. And at the end you could ask for seconds. I like that we got 3 drink tickets with our package. However I wish there told us if it was dark or light rum in each drink; if you only like light. Stick with the blue Hawaiian. Drinks are small but decently poured w alcohol. The show was also okay, I've seen better luaus before but again it was entertaining. The bathrooms however were DISGUSTING, looks like they've never been cleaned. Huge toilet bowl rings. Overall I would suggest this luau if you have the money to splurge for the better package.

Don't settle for less this is the by far the best Luau on the island of Honolulu ... the food is on point and very delicious the drinks ehhhh not that great to bland and not enough liquor . The show was really good and the performers do the job right .. you gotta come Here if you want a good show trust me you won't be disappointed ..

We choose this luau because its one of the only open right now. I thought the luau was okay. Very average. Food was ok, but bland. Covid precautions are maintained and people are spaced out. The location is on the beach about 20-30 drive from Waikiki.

I saw a lot of bad reviews, but my husband said that's one of best best Luau he has ever been when he was a kid. It's about 180 dollars per person that including the transportation (the luau is on the more remote side at the west of the island, about 1 hour drive during traffic and 40 mins back to Waikiki), an all you can eat style buffet with drinks including 2 alcohol per person and of course the entertainment! The bus came to pick us up on time and our auntie Lisa was cracking up jokes on the way there; she made the ride more fun! Once you got there, they will check you in and take a group picture of your family and then directing us to the dining area. The dining area for our ticket is free seating! Dinner was actually much better than I expected! I didn't have high expectations because knowing it's just a food at luau but it's not bad at all and you can always go back for second or third till you are tired! The entertainment was a typical performance including singing, dancing and the fire show! What I like also is the interactions with the audiences. People said it's cheesy! Lol all luau is cheesy and we are tourist and we are ok to be cheesy and having a good time!

It is very simple but shows you the different dances and traditions, they have really nice activities prior to the actual luau The food is not the best but it is included, one of the males dancers make the show 10 times better he is just funny

I really enjoyed myself at this luau. We arrived early because we purchased the general admission tickets and ended up with really good seats. Also the location was very scenic because the property was on the beach, so we def got some good golden hour flicks while we waited for the venue to fill up. Keep in mind that due to covid, there is no longer a buffet. The food is still all you can eat, you just have to tell your waiter. Pro tip: At this point I believe I have a Master's in luaus so I'm passing over this ESSENTIAL tip to the Yelp community. When you see your waiter, order multiple drinks because once they leave, you might not see them till later and by then it's last call. Only 1 drink comes with the GA tickets, then it's $5 bucks. Also bring cash!!! Lastly, the performances was pretty epic. This luau had a mistress of ceremony and she was fun!!!

Loved my time here! The performance was entertaining and all the staff was really friendly. I highly recommend paying a little more to get the more expensive seating. It was nice to have servers for drinks and food and not have to wait in any long lines for that lol. Every time we wanted another drink or new food, we had a server at our table in about a minute, so we never really had to wait. Plus , the view of the stage was much better. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I was expecting a little more from the food. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. I didn't eat a lot of food on my plate, but the pork was good!

First luau and it was an amazing experience!! Highly highly recommend getting the bigger packaging which I believe is called the plumeria package completely worth it! With the higher package it comes with vip check in (don't have to wait in line), a printed photo for each person in your group, front row seating, first to eat and 3 drink tickets as well as a lay. The food was really good and so was the ambience! Drinks unfortunately were terrible, you're safe just getting a beer I ended giving away my drink tickets. The show was awesome well worth every penny! read more

For the weekend of my birthday I literally felt the love and aloha in that place! So aharad of time when you have a special comment on the bottom of your reservation you can tell them that you're celebrating a special occasion, and I happened to celebrate my birthday when I went so it was more special! The ride to the luau was really relaxing and enjoyable. Our escort was able to upgrade us on our way to the luau. If you purchase a basic package. Do upgrade to the hibiscus package! 30$ is affordable while budgeting on a trip! And you get ahead of the crowd for luau and food! The food selection and drink selection was really Good! I MEAN good!!GOOD! The must! Rice and teriyaki beef!! I'm telling you everything else was bomb but the teriyaki tho!!! I had to go back for more!! Enjoyable show will definitely go back again! My mom and dad went for their honey moon when they got married, 27 years later I went :D so it's been passed down! :) read more

OMG, this activity was awesome! It was about an hour away from our Hotel but worth every dollar. I had purchase the basic but upgraded to the Plumeria package; reserved front row seating , photos with Polynesian greeters, lei, imu ceremony, (this would benefit people who drink) it includes 3 tickets, buffet dinner with hostess table service. The nice part is how they embrace their culture, prayer at the initiation of the event and the closing. You feel the positive vibe. Something my son will remember and hopefully one day he will pass on the memories created. *almost forgot, Cousin Greg was great. He made the 1 hour very entertaining. read more

No, no , and NO. You get seated with a salad, fruit, and water bottle, which was nice, but we waited 2+ hours for our food. No entertainment at all, we wait 2+ hours doing nothing, with mosquitoes attacking , the entertainment comes when the food comes, but it literally takes forever. And the drinks are very small, and there are so many lines. People constantly forcing and yelling at us to wear our masks , which they keep talking about social distance, even though they make 3 families sit at ONE table. That isn't even social distancing. The food wasn't even that good I rate it 2/5. Please I recommend you do not come here it is terrible. There were also many other people leaving early as well as my family. Such dissatisfaction and disappointment. Never going back, this business shouldn't go on any longer. read more
I booked 10 days in advance and got a 10% discount. I had seen this luau mentioned in so many youtube videos before visiting so I gave it a try. The show was amazing and the food was good. I also loved the dessert. Definitely went for seconds. I loved the fact that soft drinks were complimentary as other luaus were charging per drink. Had lots of fun and had a great view from our table. read more

Let's get the important information out of the way. YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO PRE GAME BEFORE COMING HERE IF YOU WANT TO DRINK. The drink selection is weak. The drinks on their menu are bad. One tasted like Emergen-C . The Blue Hawaiian drink is just bad. I can't describe what it taste like because it's hard to describe. The Skittle drink was good though. The food they give you is good and table service is worth it. The show is really good. I've been told by a lot of people this is the best one so I can only imagine what the others are like...but yeah just rambling so I could tell my fellow drinkers to Pre-game :). read more

This food made Boston market look like "French Laundry." If you come here, don't expect a high quality meal. Instead be prepared for your $100 to get you a paper plate full of garbage. I'm a pescatarian and don't appreciate having to take a pre-made paper plate full of pork. What a waste of food! Even in a High school cafeteria, they let you choose what you want on your plate. For $100, can't they at least choose which items you want on your plate? Instead it's like the nightmare version of a cafeteria dinner. If you Love low budget, unhealthy food and no service whatsoever, you'd love this. Or if you come expecting not to eat anything healthy, and just sit and watch a nice show on the water, then this would be fun. I would give Zero Stars but gave 2 stars for location on the water, and the entertainers were good. For $100 a person, they can do much better. read more

We had such an amazing time at this luau. I was nervous at first because of some of the negative reviews, but we did not have any of those negative experiences. All of the workers were so nice, the food was surprisingly really good, they had more than enough for second servings, and the show was awesome. I would highly recommend! read more

I'm baffled by the negative reviews recently. We almost cancelled our reservations because of them and I'm so glad we didn't. We had an amazing time. They were very well organized. Yes there were lines but they moved quickly and the staff was very welcoming. We didn't have to wait long to get our food and didn't have the upgraded package. The food was really good. We had plenty with the first tray and didn't even notice if seconds were an option. The show was great also. I loved at the end that they honored first responders! read more

The best luau ever!!! The staff are so sweet and accommodating, especially Carrie and Gerry! They were so attentive and kept checking up on us to make sure we were ok! The performances were amazing, especially the chief's fire show! The food was also great, we couldn't get enough of it. They also definitely did not hold back on the alcohol on their drinks There are also many great opportunities to take beautiful photos. I highly recommend Germaines luau--try to get the best seats, it is worth it. If you get the cheapest tickets, there is a chance you may get really bad seats and that is a risk you wouldn't want to take coming here. read more

I booked directly from their website and received a 10% discount. I opted to upgrade to the Plumeria package and glad I did. We had front row seating, 3 drink tickets each, but lei greeting, they brought our food and drinks to us so we didn't have to hassle with the buffet line. And the end of the night they also brought us our two complimentary family photos. I would definitely go with the upgrade if you can swing it. I also decided to use their shuttle service for an extra $25 per person. That was also worth the money. We were staying at the Marriott and got picked up next door at the Aston Waikiki. We were picked up in a large travel bus. Air conditioned, comfortable seating. No worries about directions, just sit back, relax and enjoy your drinks without having to worry about driving back at night. The show itself was beautifully put together. The singer/storyteller Serena did a wonderful job of interacting with the crowd and keeping everyone entertained. The dancers were beautiful, the costumes were so detailed. The only drawback was the food itself. I would say don't go hungry. The plate comes with a scoop of pork, teriyaki chicken, egg battered fish, white rice, Mac salad, a roll. A box with salad and small cup of lomi lomi and poi on the side. I was hoping for fresher items like more fruit or salad. read more
Germaine Luau was a fun experience. The Luau was far from Waikiki Beach . The bus ride to the luau was about two hours one way but less than a hour back. The Luau was located by the beach .The luau food was good especially the pork. The drinks were good. I enjoyed the Skittles drink. The performers were good. I would say that Luau at the Hilton had the best performers. read more
Well I just came from Germaine's Luau tonight and have to tell you, I had a blast. The last time I was in Honolulu I went to Paradise Cove Luau so it was nice to compare this one to that one. Right from the start, I will tell you I had a better experience here. I'll go through my experience from start to finish... The bus picked us up in Waikiki at 4:30pm. Cousin Greg was our host and he was friendly right from the start. The bus only had 2 other stops and we were off to the Luau by 5:00pm. Cousin Greg introduced himself and asked some people where they were from and made several jokes. He's a very laid back kind of guy and his jokes worked well, though you had to listen carefully as he's a quiet kind of guy. Everyone seemed to enjoy him and he made us all feel comfortable with lots of laughs. Near the end of the ride we do indeed drive through some industrial area, but it really doesn't matter, the Luau grounds are decent and right by the water. The whole ride was just over 30 minutes from Waikiki. As soon as we got into the Luau we received our shell Lai (not the nicest as it's thin, but what the heck). Our picture was taken with the ocean in the background and we were off to find a table. The nice thing about this place is that it isn't that big. We had the standard package and we still were able to sit close to the main stage. They gave us a ticket to win of 3 prizes that are drawn at the end. You drop that ticket off near the gift shop. The gift shop does have some decent things in it and they aren't too overpriced. We also received a drink ticket for a standard drink. I had the rum punch (the one with most alcohol) and it was tasty. Water and soft drinks are included and unlimited. They had lots of pre-show stage music and instructions. It was good. The female and male hosts on stage are amazing. Super friendly, speak clear, and ran the show smoothly. This is where it shines over other Luaus. Before the main show starts they have a presentation in a small arena where they take the pig out out of the pit. It's short but enjoyable. Our Cousin Greg even was one of the guys taking the pig out. 20 minutes after that you get to eat. The salads were good but the high highlight was the pork and beef. The pork was a bit salty and had a smokey flavor--just perfect! The sweet rolls and cake was good as well. After you get your food, the show starts. You want a show that makes you laugh and amazes you. The show definitely delivers, it did all of that and more. Lots of dancing by attractive experienced dancers, some good singing and again lots of laughs. I noticed one reviewer mentioned audience participation and how you may feel uncomfortable. The participation is completely optional and usually someone is nominating someone in a group, so you really don't have to worry about them ever pulling you up on stage. I did see a girl in a table group say no and the dancer easily moved on, it was completely fine. The highlight of the show is definitely the dancing, the fire dance, and the end with someone from the audience that was a pro. As it's December they had an extra Christmas dancing and singing. The stage was also lit up with Christmas lights. They gave us a folder on the bus with our entrance picture (there's two) that you can buy for $20 cash. It's a nice photo and I bought it. Cousin Greg then told us more jokes on the way back, we all sang a song, and then they shut the lights out so we could have a short nap. The show ended at 8:30pm and we were back at the hotel by 9:20pm. So all in all it was a 4 hour experience and definitely worth it, what an awesome time we had! read more

LAS VEGAS STYLE, not really authentic Hawaiian performances..:Also the kalua pig has to be super salty to go with the poi. It wasn't. That's a main seller and it's was a waste of a dinner in my opinion. We could have eaten better at a Hawaiian restaurant and gone to just the luau show for $80 at another venue close to Waikiki where we wouldn't have had to rent a car to drive to Kapolei and have eaten REAL KALUA PIG. I've complained to the manager so we shall see what will happen. read more

We were running on time and hopped into the 'party bus' right when we walked up. Cousin Greg handed me an envelope with the tickets to get in which had 3 drink tickets and free photo ticket as well. I was worried about the bus ride, I kinda wanted to drive up there by ourselves instead of a loaded bus of strangers. But it wasn't that bad because Greg was very entertaining. He had jokes, interactive conversations and made the whole bus get to know each other. Like he said, we were a family. He was really funny and friendly. We sat in the center with reserved seating because of the package we bought. The show was amazing. The ladies were beautiful and the men was entertaining. My boyfriend loved the fire show. Best food at a Luau. Better than Paradise Cove. Service was faster because of COVID. Not too keen on country music at the luau, but dancing was great. Fire dancers were the best! I was was on the fence about attending a luau - I'm not really a fan of cheesy shows and I was afraid that's was it'd end up being - but the luau was a definite winner. We went on our last night in Hawaii and it was the perfect way to close an amazing trip. The show was very entertaining and cultural. The dancers were so talented and engaging. The luau is on a beautiful beach, great for scenery, not so great for trying to avoid bugs! We got bit up, bring your bug spray. Buffet dinner is nothing to rave about, but for a buffet meal meant to feed that many people it's not bad. We definitely left with full bellies and satisfied. Overall and memorable evening! read more

We went with Germaine's Luau because two searches said it was best rated/high rated. We didn't check Yelp BUT we should have. Two stars and that's because the staff was friendly and the band and performances (especially the fire show) were good. Outside of that, everything else was dissatisfactory like the food, drinks, and the files situation. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. We were told to arrive at 530, only to be told we would have to wait in our car to be brought in. After 40 mins waiting in the car we are told to get out. There are two lines, regular ticket and premium. The employee working kept making it a point to talk about how much shorter the line would be if we had paid more. After finally waiting 30 more minutes in line we get to the luau area. The sun had already set at this point. We then waited 40 mins in line to get a drink. There was a special bar and waitstaff for premium ticket holders only. Our seating was terrible. We could not even see the stage. WHY PAY FOR A SHOW YOU CANNOT SEE. The food was not good. We tried to stick around but we're so frustrated with the terrible experience we left before any real action started. Why stay for a show you can't see All in all. A complete waste of money. Read the reviews and have real expectations of what you will get. We booked our luau through our vacation package that included basically half off. After reading the very mixed reviews I knew more of what to expect. We stayed in Waikiki, If you are staying in Waikiki TAKE THEIR BUS SERVICE. An Uber from our location was $100 whereas their bus service was $35 a person. Loved our bus driver! When arriving even our bus driver warned us about the location. Once "on property" you're fine and it's nice, but the surrounding area is an industrial park IE junkyards. So 1/5 for location. Since we took the bus, our wait to get in was significantly less then the people that drove. Took a picture with a very amateur photographer, didn't make sure we were going to get a good picture :/. 1st pic was good with the entertainer/dancer then the 2nd we didn't know we should just stand together so bad pic. We were sat up close since we got the upgraded package. I would highly recommend the upgraded package. Food was like a 2.5-3 out of 5. Shmedium at best. Drinks were ok, but they're served in very small plastic cups. Show was nice. I feel it really depends on the people in the show wether it's good or bad. All id say I'd participate, when you participate it just makes it that much better. Overall if you go in with medium expectations, you'll have a good time. If you're expecting the best thing in the world you'll have a bad time My rating is a 3.5-4 out of 5. Good not great EDIT: BRING BUG SPRAY. We have bug bites all over our legs. Lol it's silly but it made food taste better! Highly recommend bringing it. We had the Plumeria Package. They provided a discount for kamaaina. Ages 3 and younger are free, but they ended up giving my girl a plate for free! Our package allowed 3 alcohol beverages, and they serve you. You can order more food too. read more

They kinda rush everything. First time in Hawaii, the group I was with wanted to do a luau last minute, so we went with these guys. About $180 a person for reserve seating. In about 35 for the shuttle. Not the best location it's in the west side of the island and it's surrounded it by a lot of industrial warehouses. Check in was pretty easy then they rush you to get your picture taken. which is included, as well as some drink vouchers. depending on the envelope you get a check in you get a "reserve" seating table. The food is all right. Mediocre at best. Nothing special. Same goes for the show. They truly depend on audience participation, and when the audience is not into it, or willing to go on stage. If all is back a lot on the host, which she did on all right job. You're able to get some alcohol with the vouchers they give you that are included in the package, but the drinks are ridiculously small and with the ice, you're definitely not getting what you paid for. Once the show gets start, everybody's eyes are focus on the stage performance. And this is when they kind of close down the bar to one bartender and he's only serving fountain drinks by that time. I only ended up using one voucher. They really punctual with the ending of the show and you're right back on the shuttle. Maybe because it was on a Sunday night show that I felt that everything was kind of rush. But I wouldn't go with them again next time. read more
When you go to Hawaii, a luau is a must. It's a bit cliché and from what I've been told, luaus aren't even that authentic a Hawaiian experience, but they've caught on and they're very much a must do. My wife and I signed up for the luau on a third party tourist website. That caused some issues, because we were told the wrong pick up time from our hotel. We were running late per the guide (Cousin K), who seemed upset with us initially because we had the wrong time. On the way over, our bus had some kind of an issue and we ended up stalled on the side of the highway. It seemed like a freak accident. They got a replacement bus out promptly and we were only slightly late to the luau, but at that point Cousin K was a lot more apologetic for getting upset with us for having the wrong time. When you arrive, they put leis on you and take some photos. The event begins out by the pit, where they retrieve the pig from an underground oven and shake the meat right off the bone. From there, they return you to your tables for the show and release you in turns to go to the buffet to grab food. Most of the food is slightly bland, but from what I understand, that's pretty normal. The food was hot and seemed fresh, the pork was great, though some of the sides were a bit lacking. We got a reserve package with a couple of drink tickets, so our first two drinks each at the bar were complimentary, if inauthentic. I swear what I got tasted nothing like a Mai Tai. The performances were nice and fairly varied. I don't know how authentic they were, but the hula dancers were impressive and the fire dancer was a great touch to end the show. Best of all, after all the eating and drinking, we were a bit tired and didn't have to worry about driving back to the hotel because the bus took us right back. read more

My bf and I booked this luau because we had $100 credit for it. We paid for the remaining balance using his credit card 2 months ago. Last Friday we got an email of a refund receipt/confirmation with "Changed Mind" description. First of all there was no greeting, no explanation on why it was canceled, and no information about our $100 credit that we used. My bf emailed them & asked why it was canceled. They just replied with...."Germaines luau will not be in service for the month of JUNE that is why it was cancelled." Idk about you, but we found this reply a little rude....all the other companies we booked activities with replied with nice/friendly emails. We understand things are a little crazy right now because of the pandemic, but being nice to ppl/potential customers goes a long way. We were thinking of rebooking with this company when we go on vacation....definitely not happening now. If they can't be nice and friendly over emails....I don't want to imagine how they treat ppl in person. read more

History
Established in 1976.
Germaine's Luau has been inviting visitors to experience a traditional Hawaiian backyard-style Luau.
Meet the Manager: Aulani K.
Our namesake, Marcia Germaine (who hails from Chicago), fell in love w/ the islands, the people and the "hang loose" feeling of Hawaii. She decided all visitors to the islands should experience the same Ohana (family) style of Aloha. Because of his she sold all of her belongings and moved to Oahu in the 1960's and decided to start her own "luau."

What if you get there very early? Anything to do there while you wait?
Lots of photo opportunities and that's about it. You're driving thru a lot of industrial before you get there so nothing scenic till you get there. Not sure if the bar would be open that early. The gift shop is very tiny.

Germaines Lauau is the best evening you could have in Hawail, we went for my Daughters Hen party and from getting on the bus (Bus 3) to start to getting off at the end of the night it was great , Reno was absolutely awesome and I don't think I have laught so much in a long time. The show was very good and we all enjoyed the food and had the most fun a hen party could possible have. The hole team at Germaines were great and looked after us really well from the booking right throu to the evening. Thank you all again we had a night to remember. read more

Too expensive. Too noisy as we were by the speakers. Wooden benches were uncomfortable.
