    The buffet!

After the Paradise Cove luau closed and I was looking for a new spot and Man did I find it! Been going to Hawaii over 20 years and this is my favorite one I have ever been to! The show and story was very entertaining, sunny, and engaging! The shuttle picked us up from our Aulani resort and dropped us off after! The food was a buffet style and it did not disappoint! They have plenty of Activities before the actual show which are included! So make sure to be there early! I went with 6 adults and we all thought it was a great experience! The staff was friendly and made you feel awesome at all times! You can take pictures with the entertainers after as well! The only downside is that it is not near the water but overall would do again.

I will say this is the first place we have been in 5 days that actually embodied Ohana. It felt like family was welcoming you in to your table, to all the fun activities. The food was the best we have had at any attraction. THE SHOW WAS AMAZING! I would have to say it was better than the Polynesian Cultural Center. The performers seemed more the part. This Luau was an alternative to the KoOlina Luau we had visited twice before and we were unsure. Extremely glad we booked it for our party of 11. These memories will last forever.

I have been visiting Oahu since I was 7 years old, and not once have my family and I gone to a Luau. Mauka Warriors Luau was the perfect place to finally experience it. It was such a memorable experience. From start to finish, it felt like a full immersion into the culture with the food, performances, and atmosphere all making the night unforgettable. It was also such a unique, interactive experience, with opportunities to really engage with the performers and the show. FOOD: 9/10 SERVICE: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 We purchased the VIP experience, which included: Painted tattoos, which were so beautiful and intricate Free Lei and Lei bracelets upon arrival Free drink upon entering and Alcohol vouchers Seating up front near the stage Going up first to get food Experiences: Traditional Hawaiian buffet with kalua pork, poi, and tropical sides, and much more Fresh tropical drinks and cocktails Fire knife dance, hula performances, and live music How the kalua pork is taken out of the steaming hot ground Hat weaving FOOD: 9/10 The buffet had a great variety of authentic Hawaiian dishes. The kalua pork was tender and flavorful, the poi was traditional (definitely an acquired taste), and the sides complemented everything well. The tropical drinks were refreshing and perfectly sweet for the warm evening. SERVICE: 10/10 The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming. They guided guests through seating, drinks, and answered any questions about the dishes or performances, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. All the staff members of the show were very talented, passionate, and also funny. I loved how engaging they all were with the audience. AMBIANCE: 10/10 The show was incredible. The fire knife dance and hula performances were full of energy and skill. The outdoor setting, with beautiful views, made the evening feel relaxed yet festive. The interactive elements, like audience participation and photo opportunities with performers, made it even more special and memorable. The decorations on the table, stage, and all around were beautiful. I would 100% recommend going here to anyone who is looking for a fun, interactive, and worth-it luau.

A *SOLID*4 1/2 stars, with only one tiny glitch, which I will get to. I heard very good things about this luau, one of the things is that it's locally owned. It's run by local Polynesians, as well as military veterans. That's one of the reasons I decided to book. I booked through the ticket office at Pearl Harbor for a discount. You can also get a military/veterans discount booking directly with them. Even without the discount, The prices are reasonable for all that you get. They have three different price levels, and each price level determines what type of lei greeting you get, where you sit for the show, and the number of drink tickets you get. I chose the middle tier, which got me a kukui nut lei, seating in the middle section, and two drink tickets. The luau is about a half hour to 45 minutes from Honolulu, depending on traffic and where you are starting from. The luau is not on the beach, but the luau grounds were very well kept. I paid an extra $30 for transportation, and it was worth every penny. It's so nice to just be able to sit back and let somebody else do all of the driving. Our guide was "cousin Stephanie," and she was wonderful. So friendly, so engaging, she is Oahu born and raised, she told us lots of neat stories about the islands, as well as gave us some tips on places to visit and eat at. I cannot say enough, good things about her. We got to the grounds, and it did look like it was going to be raining, so they gave everybody who wanted one a poncho, the rain was sporadic and very light, but it was still nice to have them. There were activities, such as. (temporary.) Polynesian tattoos. Cooking lessons, having your photo taken with different items from Polynesia, making headbands, and other things. Before dinner, there was a hula lesson for those who wanted to try, and then there was the "imu" ceremony, were they pulled the pig from the oven in the ground. As for drinks, you could either purchase them from the bar, and they also had things such as fruit punch, water, etc. complementary. Dinner was authentic, and ono-licious! It was buffet style, and everything was good. I especially loved the fish, the kalua pork, the mac & cheese, as well as the grilled pineapple. I loved everything, but those were my favorites. If I were not so full, I would've gladly gone back for seconds. Here is a link to a typical menu......https://maukawarriorsluau.com/dinner-menu/ The show was about an hour long, and it was fantastic. The show differs from your typical luau, which covers Polynesia in general. This show, the theme is Polynesian war history told from the origins, to modern times. It weaves the different islands of Polynesia together, telling stories of historic battles, combined with the Polynesian spirit. It was very authentic, and I loved the show. They also did a tribute and a special "Thank you" to all of the military and veterans in the audience, which I also thought was very special. The one tiny thing that I have to take off a half a star for, was the way that they did the drink coupons. I got two drink coupons, so I thought, fine... Two drinks. I get to the bar, and on the menu, it said that only certain drinks were covered by the drink tickets. I don't drink, and they had two very interesting "mocktails" on the menu, but neither of them were covered by my drink ticket. It just covered things such as juice, soda, coconut, water, etc. I had two very nice cans of coconut water, they were OK, but I was a little bit disappointed. That is the only. Thing I could possibly say about the entire evening. Thank you for an amazing trip through the islands of Polynesia. I will definitely tell everybody I know that this is the luau to go to....

This was my picky kid's plate. Tons more options to choose from!

If I could give this 10 stars I would. This was by far the highlight of our trip! We wrestled back and fourth whether or not to spend the extra money on seating but we did go with the royal package. It was def worth it. The tables are perpendicular to the stage but ours was in the center. We also got our food first before everyone else. The food was actually delicious, every single thing. My picky kids loved it also, which says alot. The show was FANTASTIC!! loved the vibes atmosphere just all around wonderful time. If I ever go back to Oahu again, this is def top on my list!

Amazing experience. Located in Kapolei close to the hotel we stayed at. They had a lot of interactive activities before the dinner and show. Our kids had so much fun. The drinks were amazing. Get the most expensive package can't remember what it was called but it was worth every penny. They also have shops that you can buy local jewelry, misc items for you and your loved ones. The food was delicious and they had a variety to choose from. The show was phenomenal. But the best part of this experience was the staff . From checking in to the entertainers to the photographers & the bar staff 10/10 service and highly recommended this luau as your choice while visiting Hawaii Shout out to uncle TUI who I met this night as well. Thank you for your hospitality and love

What a great night! I would 100% do it again! We got Lei'd as we walked in. Was gifted a coconut bowl to take home. There are a ton of activities before the food and show start from photos to "tattoos" and a small market. A drink as we walked in was delicious. The buffet was some of the best food. I got to try a lot of new things. The service was amazing. Highly recommend!

An Absolute Must-See! We had such an amazing time at the Mauka Warriors Luau! The whole experience was fun, family friendly, and full of energy from start to finish. The performers were phenomenal -- especially the Mauka Warriors with their incredible dancing and the thrilling fire performances. Watching them throw and spin fire right in front of us was honestly unforgettable! A huge shout-out to Shareya and Jeanine for being so welcoming and friendly. They helped us with our tablets, made sure we were comfortable, and truly made us feel taken care of the entire time. And Jayden, the drummer -- WOW. His energy and rhythm really brought the whole show to life. The food was another highlight. There were so many tasty options, and everything I tried was delicious. I definitely ate way too much... in the best way possible. They also give you a complimentary drink ticket, and we loved the areas where you can watch the men prepare the food, shop for gifts, and take cute photos around the venue. For everything that's included, this is hands-down the best price in town. I would 100% recommend this luau to families, couples, or anyone visiting Hawaii who wants a memorable and authentic experience. We left with full stomachs, big smiles, and so many photos. Mauka Warriors is absolutely worth it!

Near the beginning of the show, all open, outside, beautiful sunset, and an amazing group of dancers, singers and musicians.

The whole experience was incredible! All the people who work at this luau from our bus driver and the MC on the bus, Stephanie, to the luau staff, singers, dancers, vendors, musicians, and food, were all incredibly talented, informative, helpful, friendly and fun!!!!! (The food was so very delicious) The open air setting was beautiful and the sunset was breathtaking. By the way, please give Stephanie a raise. She was so sweet, informative, and helpful.

One of the best decisions I made while visiting Oahu was going to this Luau. The staff are courteous and friendly. They make you feel as if they are glad you are there. There are vendors with various items for sale before the show. They make free flower bracelets and head crowns for only a tip. The show is fantastic with history, comedy, dancing and seriously amazing performances by the musicians. There are lots of opportunities for audience participation. I would recommend that you be sure to get a taste of the fresh pork after the cooking demonstration. The food is buffet style. There are at least 8-10 lines that move very rapidly and you have the opportunity to go back for second helpings. I highly recommend the fish!!! It was so fresh and tasty. We received two drink tickets with our meal. You can choose soft drinks, mixed drinks, and non alcoholic beverages. Be sure to review the list because not all drinks are covered by the ticket so be sure to take some money to purchase items you may desire. They had three drinks available for free at a help yourself table. I believe it was mango tea, some type of punch, and maybe ice water. I would recommend taking a light jacket if you are cold natured as it tends to get a little cool as the sun goes down. Definitely worth the time and money!!

Mauka Warrior is the best Luau on Oahu in my opinion. I have been to almost all of them. Their Aloha is strong. Only Luau with Kava and the uncle explains it very well. They honor the military. The history they tell in the story of the show is so awesome. Dancers are amazing.

This was such an amazing evening. The food, ambiance, and service were top notch. The kids had a blast and didn't have any complaints. The dancers are very skilled and the people presenting were funny and kept us all entertained. The buffet had a wide variety of things and everyone left stuffed. We got to try some local foods that were tasty and learn about Polynesian traditions. It's worth the money for such a lovely experience.

We're like brothers from another mother! And we both are military veterans.

What can I say about an amazing Luau Experience!!! Everyone in Mauka Warriors Luau personnel were courteous, respectful, friendly, and had great, big smiles. The foods were delicious as expected of a luau with so much hype. Mauka Luau lived up to the hype and advertisements. The dancers, performers were excellent. Who knew that a luau can also be funny?! And they saved the best for last, the Fire Warriors which had us captivated with their stories, dances, and skills of handling the twirling Fire batons. It was a night to remember of Polynesian culture.

They offered free transportation during a deal in January, when I booked, which was super helpful and only solidified the decision to go to Chief's. The charter bus was easy to find and left right on time. We picked up others (now our family/ohana per Cousin Brian, who was our host from the bus) from local hotels and made our way to the luau. Upon arriving, they immediately handed out ponchos, which were definitely needed. Mostly light rain on and off throughout the evening, but that didn't spoil our time there. They took extra care to dry our seats ahead of initially sitting down at our table and when we returned from the buffet. We were also greeted with a fresh flower lei (booked the Royal Experience). At our seats was a lei po'o waiting for all. They immediately offered us a complimentary drink and a gentleman had fresh coconut ready to try. Just ahead of dinner, the men brought out the roasted pig. A blessing was asked in the native language, and then it was dinner time. All staff were kind and helpful. All of the food was really good, especially the kalua pork, which had a great smoky flavor. I'd dare to say it was better than any pork butts I've ever smoked at home. The men played music and sang while we ate, which we enjoyed. On to the show.... Multiple groups of dancers performed for us, showcasing different cultures, like Samoan and Polynesian. Looked and felt very authentic to me. All performers were awesome and engaged the audience. Chief was great and led the entire evening. The fire dancers were also very cool to watch. All in all, give Chief's Luau a try. You won't be disappointed!

Something i feel like they could have done better was the seating, they know how many people booked ahead of time, yet they still set up so many tables and MANY were left empty. I didn't like this at all, i felt like when i was taking my pictures i kept thinking to myself, I didnt want to show the empty tables, cause it would look like this place cant event fill up the venue it must not be good. Why couldn't she be like this going to school?! Anyway, performance day came and she was excited about her the whole show. The family came to cheer her on and we were amazed how great the show was! The stage looked amazing. In 2 weeks all the kids memorized their lines, learned choreography, stage presence, and memorized songs. It was impressive to see how much these kids learned in only 2 weeks. They even help make the stage, props, and programs. AMAZING! PACK has different programs. There is the summer programs, different shows to tryout, they have dance classes and offer various workshops for kids. It is such a great program and it is on the Westside!! Overall, It was priceless to see my mini me's confidence and excitement grow with each day. Thank you PACK for having this wonderful program available in the Westside. PACKids really outdid themselves by singing, dancing and acting their hearts out on stage - it was truly believable and something they can be proud to have been a part of. I know I was proud to have witnessed such a beautiful musical. It's no secret, i embrace local entrepreneurial endeavors and that affinity does not end with just my purchases. I support local talent when I can. Here in west Oahu there is not a shortage of talents and skills. PACK is a local, non-profit, after school musical theatre group that puts on 4-5 musical productions in a year. Children audition for parts and should be able to sing, dance, recite and act. It's the real deal at PACK! Since moving to west Oahu I have seen School House Rock Jr., their Christmas Holiday production, Little Mermaid and now, Westside Story. These kids are amazing!! I've heard of Studio 808's dance programs but have never taken a class until I heard about the Zumba class being offered there. You can take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor and reach the studio on the Leeward Drive-Inn side. Once arriving, there is a front desk area set up in front of the studio where people were manning. You can pay in cash or Venmo (I did the mobile pay option because I didn't have cash). Fortunately, Studio 808 has also catered the Zumba class as a remote class so you can actually sign up for the class and dance from home by watching the instructor. Upon arriving to the class, the room was overall clean and spacious. Because the class is also done virtually, there wasn't many people in the room. The Zumba instructor was Erin and I have nothing but great things to say about him. As someone who isn't a dancer, Erin was kind enough to teach the lessons via virtual cam and in-person. The overall class was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the music better at Studio 808 compared to the Zumba classes I take at 24 Hour Fitness. I would definitely recommend to go with Erin because he's exudes positive energy, always smiles while breaking a sweat and definitely knows what he's doing. I was even watching the participants online (who were older folks) and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy the class at home as they would in studio. If you're up for doing a Zumba class in Waipahu (or simply at your own home), I would definitely recommend this class to take. Admission is about $7 per class but the first class is free! Classes are every Tuesday from 6-7pm.

Flores de Mayo Filipino Fiesta…read more.. A celebration of culture is held at the Filipino Community Center a place that I've never been and happy to have a chance to see the festivities and events that embrace the Filipino culture that with scheduled conflict I almost can never make it though this year as I did have the time off took full advantage of the situation and what a fun filled day it was. In the lot and down the street is filled with food trucks and various vendors offering all types of foods from halo halo to a full plate lunch has my taste buds going into overdrive and didn't know where to begin. I did ended up starting with items from the Filipino Street Food tent as the event was just getting started so much so that some of the items weren't ready yet so it was the Hot Dog and Longanisa as I dove into my yummy meaty choices was hearty bite of deliciousness I moved out to the street and got the Halo Halo from the Halo Halo Place and got their "The Halo Halo" as it was voted the best Halo Halo topped with a scoop of ube ice cream is a light and refreshing treat and see why it's the favorite. To then Corn Onoz Hawaii with their Cheeto Z as it's coated with the vibrant and full of kick Flamin Hot Cheetos with Mahalo as their finishing sauce on top was too cute and creative :) along with entertainment it was indeed a festive event that I'm so glad to have experienced. Thank you!

The main hall was very nice and huge! The overall facility was superb. The food was catered out, I believe, so it'll be separate from this review. It was excellent anyway though. Service and ambiance was epic too!

Laulau pleasantly surprised me as this was my first foray to Waipahu Highway Inn. Every time I got laulau at the Kakaako location the meaty (non fatty) parts of the pork was dry; this one was moist throughout, even in the meaty parts. Poi was good, especially mixed with the lomi salmon. Mom's squid luau was nice, came out hot, though it was a little sweet for her taste. The smoked meat was also a little sweet, though we know that's how they prepare it at H.I. Nice mix of smoky and sweet with the meat and onions. Finished with the haupia, which is standard and always dependable there. Like the old plantation feel and the old photographs of Waipahu all over the place, right down to the palaka decor. Every time I return I try to eat at H.I.

Authentic Hawaiian food done right!…read more This place is known for their catering. You'll find their food at weddings and 1st birthday parties. But, they also have locations where you can dine in or takeout. I've had takeout as well as catered food from here a couple of times. I love that their food is a complete meal and comes with haupia (coconut dessert). Most recently I tried their tasting plate which came with a little bit of everything: chicken long rice, lomi salmon, squid luau, kalua pork, poi, pork laulau, and okinawan sweet potato. Definitely good for sharing as well. I shared with my daughter. Everything was so flavorful and had lots of variety. The squid luau is sweet because it's made with coconut milk, the kalua pig and laulau are salty, the poi was not sour and went well with the lomi salmon, the sweet potato also added sweetness. It all worked so well together. For dessert, we got the Sweet Potato Haupia Shortbread. Definitely a sweet and savory combo. The potato isn't too sweet, the buttery shortbread crust and the coconut haupia. Definitely a local fave. Overall, great place to try Hawaiian food with tons of parking and usually not crowded. A must try!
