I don't know where to begin. I ordered a bridesmaid dress in February 2020 for my sisters wedding. I paid for the dress in full with express shipping and was reassured several times that it would arrive in time. I started calling in July for updates on the dress and my concerns were brushed aside and I was told by several people that the dress was in the store they "just had to locate it". Three weeks before the wedding they told me the dress did not exist -- they had never even ordered it. I have been calling and messaging them constantly since then for a refund but cannot get through to anyone. This is by far the WORST dress shop. DO NOT go here. read more

To summarize this lengthy review: If the customer service matched how nice the shop is and the quality and selection of dresses, it would put every other shop out of business. But it failed miserably on customer service and I would recommend steering clear; so fear not, other NEPA bridal shops. We arrived 5 minutes before our scheduled appointment to a full shop and no one even acknowledging our presence. A woman there who called a head to pick up a dress still had to wait 20 minutes for them to find it. Then, in the downstairs fitting area, there was a group of 10 (grandparents, parents, etc.) there to watch two little girls try on a flower girl dress. But once they were done, they did not move and no one asked them too. There is nothing more uncomfortable than trying on dresses in front of strange men STARING at you. Not to mention, we couldn't even get close to the mirror. So we finally get to the bridal appointment nearly 40 minutes later than was scheduled because the previous bride tried on too many dresses. Um, hello, that's when you tell her to come back, because then our appointment was cut short! Instead of jumping right in, she ran outside to smoke a cigarette, and reeked of them throughout the appointment. Once the dress try on started, it was fine, but we just couldn't get over the initial issues and decided that if there was a dress there that was "the" dress, we would not be buying through Gerri's. Gerri's bridal is the best. Don't be intimidated by the staff's no BS attitudes. They've been in the business for years and they know the industry. You'll be a bride hopefully once or a bridesmaid several times but they've had more experience with weddings and wedding attire then you ever will, so listen to them. I've gotten my 8th grade graduation dress there, prom dresses and now four bridesmaid dresses. My sister just purchased her wedding dress there as well. My sister picked out a style she thought she'd like as well as her fiancé. After letting her try on the dresses of her choice, Michelle said, "Do me favor and try this one on." My sister did and that's the dress she fell in love with. Michelle knew my sister's taste from past years and completely nailed the type of dress my sister looked and felt best in, which was the complete opposite of what she had picked out. They aren't there to flaunt all over you, it's not their style and they aren't there to tell you that you look beautiful in everything you try on. They are there to make sure you look your best and feel your best on your big day. Also I read some reviews about their building's condition. They've recently moved to Main Street in Pittston and their new home is absolutely amazing! It's new, it's clean and it's the perfect place to pick our your wedding dress. read more

Avoid this place! They are rude and inconsiderate. They were great when we were looking for bridesmaid dresses and purchasing them. However, after that they are terrible. They told us we did not need an appointment to come in and get the dress hemmed. Therefore, when my cousin was in from Maryland we went there. The younger of the two ladies yelled at us for not making an appointment. The older lady said she would just fit her in quickly (thank goodness since my cousin came from Maryland). Now here is the major issue: I called last week to see if I can pick up my cousin's dress since she is out of town. They said yes but you have a dress that is unpaid for. I reminded them that this girl was no longer in the wedding and they said they would hold all my dresses until I, the bride paid for the dress. They tried to make someone else accountable for someone else's bill. I, the bride NEVER signed anything saying that I would take responsibility. They were nasty on the phone and kept talking about how their accountant is going to be mad at them. I said that isn't my problem. I just need my dresses. They finally said ok. Now it is three days before my wedding and my cousin goes to pick up her dress. They said she can't have it unless she pays for that other dress. Her dress was already paid for and they were trying to hold it hostage. Now we have to get on the phone again with them. After them continuing to be nasty, we said how this is illegal and will bring the media here. They immediately became nice and gave my cousin her dress. I'm not sure how this place tried to get away with this. If someone doesn't pay their bill then you go to the magistrate and send them to a collection agency, not try to make someone else pay. I also called last week to pick up the dresses and they said they can't have them ready until the Monday before the wedding. I've never heard of such a thing. I've had my bride dress for two weeks because the people worked with me and were kind throughout the whole process. Avoid this place at all costs. This place lost out on another 7 dresses being purchased for my sister's wedding. I HIGHLY recommend Bridal Chateau in Berwick and The Dress Lounge in Kingston. The ladies are fabulous and more reasonable in prices!!! read more

Worst customer service ever!!!! I have never dealt with a business as rude and unprofessional in my life. I'm a bridemaid in my brother's upcoming wedding and Gerri's bridal has been a horrible experience since I first walked in. I wasn't able to go look at the dresses with the bride so I went a few days later to be sized for the dress the bride picked out. The store was supposed to be open until 8 that day so I was getting other errands done beforehand until my brother's fiance tells calls to say they decided to have an early day and are closing the store in 15 minutes. When I finally got there, the clerk was rude because she had to wait for me (even though they were still supposed to be open another 3 hours). I paid for my dress and left. When the dresses came in, I called to pay the balance on my dress and see if I can get it shipped to me (I moved out of stat right before they came in). The same lady was rude to me again saying if I would have called two days prior (I tried calling but their phone is always busy or no answer!!!) she could have sent it out today. She then told me she would send it out tomorrow and I had to pay an additional $22 for shipping (that seems high to me). It is currently 2+ weeks after that phone call and I hace yet to recieve my dress. The wedding is in 2 weeks. I have called several times and didn't get through. When I finally did get through she told me she was TOO SICK to get it to UPS the day she was supposed to mail it but I would have it in 3 more days. So what did I pay $22 in shipping for?!?!? Lucky find!! I was visiting family for thanksgiving and still needed to find a dress before my February 2014 wedding. I spoke with a nice lady on the phone Monday morning and asked of it was possible to get an appointment that day. I was first helped by the owners daughter and she selected dresses for me based on my budget and style. She also went to the back to find me discontinued options. Another lady spent almost three hours helping me try on dresses and gave advice. Totally no pressure to make a decision. I was fortunate enough to find a beautiful dress in the right size. I made my purchase that night. The shop owner came out from the back to help complete the transaction. She gifted me a cute blue garter - she also saved me money by recommending I take my dress as a carry on for my flight back to California later in the week. The shop could use a little remodeling but the ladies, dresses and experience were awesome!! read more

Michelle is AMAZING. This is the place to go. I showed the girls dresses I liked on my phone, they went through the shop pulled dresses they thought I would like, and then helped me into each one. They gave their honest opinion and helped me look like a princess while trying on dresses. Definitely the best experience I have had thus far. Michelle was helpful, not pressuring, and told me to come back whenever I am ready to try on more dresses. She is definitely the best! read more

I had tried to find a dress that I fell in love with online and went to several extremely overpriced "ritzy" bridal shops with many unhappy endings. I have to say, when I pulled up in front of the building, I had second and third thoughts. It needs to be updated. Once I got inside they had already received the sample dress for me to try on, measured me, and ordered. It was the only dress I tried in this store, I knew it was the one. The dress came in, I was fitted several times before the final alteration. They ordered the right size but I lost weight due to my nerves, so the alterations were changing. I have to say they were WONDERFUL. I've read reviews saying they were rude, unprofessional, etc. I had none of this. I would refer everyone there, absolutely loved the whole experience. read more

Absolutely worst service I've ever experienced. This dishonest bridal shop made me get a size that I knew would be too large (I live near philly and I was due to have a baby 2 months before my friends wedding). This was my second child so I knew how my body would be after delivery. Anyway, they forced me to get a size which would be charged $20 additional because it was a plus size; because they wanted to be 'sure' it would fit. I have a medically fragile child so my trips back home were limited. I came in for a fitting 6 weeks after having my daughter (unfortunately she was 5 weeks early) and I said "by the time the wedding arrives I can assure you I'll be down two more sizes." But they were rude and persistent (as if they were the ones paying for the dresses). They assured the entire bridal party that alterations would be no more than $35. Well, after my fitting the charge 'discretely' became $50 - as did the majority of the bridal parties. At this time I was furious because the reason I needed so many alterations done to the dress was because they chose the size for me since I wasn't able to come in for a fitting earlier and they felt the need to take it upon themselves to chose my size. I called them and spoke to the owner - who has NO customer service skills, I told her I didn't want my alterations done through them and that the bride would mail me my dress. The bride was furious after hearing what had happened that she called and spoke to the daughter of the owner. She agreed to do my alterations for $25 as it was not right how we were all being treated. I came in Friday (wedding was Saturday). NOT to my surprise the dress had to be taken in a bit more (actually, to the exact size I anticipated I'd be - the entire time). The owner told me it would be no more than an hour and a half and to stay near by. The temperature was about 95 degrees so my husband and our two small children (one medically fragile child) went to lunch. Little did we know that the wait turned into 3.5 hours with NO apologizes for the delay. After becoming highly irritated as my children were completely exhausted after the 2.5 trip back home and waiting all day in the car and almost being late to the rehearsal dinner, Geri's bridal had the audacity to charge me $50 for the alterations. Saying, "they didn't expect me to need that much taken in!" and that "they really didn't expect me to have my child 5 weeks early" (as if I did?) the daughter of the owner and the owner who were both there said, "we said we'd charge $25 for only the bottom of the dress, we didn't say anything about the top!" This statement made NO sense because the reason she was doing it for $25 was because her mother was absolutely rude. I told her I wasn't paying that and she tried keeping my dress - WHICH was already paid for. I am positive the rest of the bridal party all had bad experiences - including the bride - whom they unprofessionally talked about in regards to how they didn't like how she came 'too late' to her own fitting- and that she was too stressed and should have taken the week off from work. (This was told to me from the employees there when I was getting my fitting done - they were venting) - very professional, right? Be prepared for the worst service if you chose this bridal shop. They do not make you or the bride feel special and they lie about what they are going to charge you until the 'botched' job is completed. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. read more

Extreme lack of professionalism. The one woman was yelling and degrading the older employee the entire time we were there trying on dress. Secondly the time frame that the dresses come in is outrageous. They were ordered in March promised by early/mid August and it was pulling teeth the get them by the end of the first week of September. They continuously made excuses "they dresses are stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean bc of trump". "They were unfortunately delivered in California and rerouted to Las Vegas which means it'll work another 3-5 days" now the first one just made me laugh the second I could grasp but when you know that there will only be about 10 business days to have the dresses altered and they are already past the point of when you originally promised them, shouldn't you have done more than make up things for your customers. Honestly I would have accepted the truth. And lastly the quality of said dress was awful. Once alterations were complete the dress still had issues but didn't have time to be fixed. The front turned out so all you saw was the inside lining of the dress and they literally were falling apart by the end of the night. Overall just a lack of communication, poor customer service skills, and zero empathy for your paying customer. Do not recommend the only reason I gave two stars were bc the dresses were very pretty but completely not worth this hassle. Take your money else where. I would give this place zero stars if I could. It is by far the worst bridal shop I have been to. My sister had us get our bridesmaid dresses here. One of the girls dropped out of the wedding. My cousin went to get her dress and they refused to give her the dress until the other girl (who dropped out) paid for her dress. This was four days before my sister's wedding. She had my sister upset and crying when it wasn't her fault. It took my family threatening to contact the local news station to be able to get them to give the dress to my cousin. They refused to give a paying customer the item they paid for which is not only unprofessional but illegal. Avoid this place at all costs! I'm getting married in July and I was going to get my bridesmaids dresses here as well as my wedding dress. Not anymore! Oh and usually you put down half for the deposit. Here they only ask for $25. It is their fault they are losing money. Plus the contract doesn't say the bride is responsible if a bridesmaid doesn't pay yet they harassed my sister before her wedding! read more

FYI to anyone thinking of using this bridal shop for their wedding. I am part of a wedding this coming Saturday and I was told to pick up my dress today. due to the flooding and location of this shop, I tried calling for 3 hours before the lines were open. When I called, I gave my name, told me my dress was ready and pressed to be picked up and it was safe to drive to the shop (the shop is next to the bridge). when I arrived, I saw another girl from the bridal party who told me she was waiting 40 minutes, there were only two girls on and no one came to help her at that point. While being understanding due to the weather, I still found it odd that not one person came out to just hand over her dress. The one woman (who I believe to be the owner) asked for our names. She brought out the dress for the girl and informs me that she doesn't think my dress is ready. I tell her I called earlier and was told it was ready. She asked the other woman if she told me the dress was done. The girl comes out, asks my name, then rudely asks for my last name. Then tells me she did NOT tell me my dress was ready. We then got into an argument b/c I told her I wouldn't be here if I didnt call, and that if it wasn't ready when I called i wouldnt be here. She keeps going at me, as if I was lying and keeps telling me that they were busy (which I told her I understood, and that she should have told me, on the phone the dress wasnt ready) to which I then told her to stop giving me an attitude. I kept repeating those words. I also said "Am I not the one paying YOU money. Stop giving me attitude." The other girl in the wedding, who was closer to this woman, tells me she turned around and then said "Fine, I won't even look for your dress." If I heard that I would have walked out. Pissed that I have to pay for the dress, the older woman, apologizes (however, did nothing to stop the confrontation earlier) and the other woman did not even think to say sorry. I understand being busy and stressed b/c there is alot of people in the shop, but customers should be appreciated and not attacked b/c she can't handle stressful situations.
