When we got our house in 2018, we changed to AllState for home and auto. A couple months in, we get…read morea cancellation notice of our home policy because we didn't tell them our tree was cut down. This was NEVER mentioned that our policy was contingent on tree removal (which we did!). They never asked us if it was cut down, just cancelled the policy and said it was because we never told them. A mess that took a while to clean up, but fine. Strike 1. Halfway through the year, they raise our premium. Strike 2. In the policy renewal, they raise our premiums 20-30% with no explanation or prior notice. When I ask, they said something inane like "inflation" and "adjusted rates". Strike 3. So we go change our insurance and give them notice. Then they prematurely cancel our policy before the new policy goes into effect. WHAT THE HECK?! This is unprofessional, disrespectful and outright malicious. We have never had a claim on the home, and the only claim on the car was due to us being rear-ended while parked in traffic. If you're looking for an agent, save yourself the trouble and find anyone else.

After being a loyal customer for 9 years and insuring 2 apartments in Manhattan, I was just "poor…read moreshamed" by Mr. Chiprich. I insured 2 units and under trust I hardly thought about the premium. Today, when I am paying the annual premium for the 2 policies, I realized that the small unit had a higher premium. The explanation I was given was that the pricing algorithm was different hence the one I insured in 2010 was at a higher rate. When I asked if there was anything he can do to, he said that although I was "price sensitive", this "wasn't buying a sweater and asking for refund when the sweater goes on sale". Well, Mr. Chiprich this has nothing to do with price sensitivity. As a consumer I have the right to know what I am paying and I have the right to ask for a price review since you weren't looking out for your customers. Poor shaming doesn't really work when you want to silence people.
