I showed up on a Saturday morning, hoping to just get an opinion about a brake issue so I could schedule an appointment for another day. I had been forewarned by a friend who is a self-declared car expert that this was going to be a major, costly job. In the end, I drove out of there after two hours with brand new rotors and pads, no more squealing from my wheels, and only a small dent in my bank account. As an "older" guy (like me), Tom is from a generation that truly appreciates the concept of holding on to cars, electronics, and other things for as long as they provide good service. Many other mechanics would have scoffed at me for still driving a 2011 Honda Element, making excuses for why they couldn't make my brakes stop catching and squealing ("You have to expect that from a 14-year-old car, sir"), but Tom treated my never-been-washed Element like it was a 2025 BMW. He's a very sociable guy, so I enjoyed chatting with him while he was working. Some might say he actually provides TOO much information, but I really appreciated how he explained everything he was doing, as it was pretty much implied from the beginning that the fix, as confident as he seemed, wasn't a 100% sure-shot. In the end, this relatively simple process of maintenance turned out to be a success, and I think he was as happy and relieved as I was. There are very few mechanics - including dealerships - that I have ever used more than once, but I will definitely be returning to Tom's for whatever my Element needs in the future.

Today I walked in with an appointment that I have made online the week before for an inspection and tire rotation. I received at least three emails of confirmation and reminders. I walked in 10 minutes early to my appointment to Anthony on the phone with someone. I patiently waited. After he hung up he continued looking at the computer screen like I'm not there. Being the respectful person that I am I continue waiting for him to finish up whatever he is doing so I do not interrupt. Finally he says "Can I help you?" like I'm a nuisance. I tell him I have an appointment. He tells me his inspector is booked for the day. Confused, I repeated I had an appointment. He tells me again they are booked and that their website does not coincide with what is actually available. WTF. Meanwhile today is my only day off during the week as someone with a full time job and two young children... and I had planned this entire day out around this. No apologies whatsoever. I can't believe it. I walked out saying "Thanks... for nothing." Because it really was nothing. Unbelievable. Convenience of being near the mall but I will never come back to this location but it's not like they need my business anyway. Luckily there are plenty of places that do car inspections.

When I opened the door the smell of pot smoke was unbearable. They said the tech left, though I called and scheduled and I would have to come back another day. Not against people smoking but hey, if you are replacing brakes on someone's car and forget to tighten the lug nuts you may have caused a serious accident. Sucks cause the concept of a Jiffy Lube is great. In and out with quick service and most people are probably not doing brakes there. But someone could forget the oil drain plug or use the wrong filter which would cause another issue. Something to think about before you bring your car here. This company should also not advertise NYS inspections as each location has a reason why they can't when you get there even though you call ahead.

I thought the water pump repair was a small job, but Hugo patiently showed us that the water pump is internal and requires a significant amount of time to replace. The second job was for replacing 3 engine coils and spark plugs. All the repairs were clearly explained before work was done. Prices were fairly set before work was done. Diagnostics were correctly performed before work was done. They are patient, fair, honest, and very experienced these are the most important factors when considering an auto shop. Look nowhere else, talk to Hugo and get your car problems solved quickly. What I like most about this shop is the texts and updates I got from Hugo. I have never gotten that type of service from any auto shop, or car dealer. I have used the affiliated auto body shop next door and they do good work. The car was detailed and looked better than new inside and out. There were minor trim issues, which were corrected on a second visit. I don't know if they paint on site, but the paint on the door matches very well under close inspection. If you can involve Hugo in your auto body repairs definitely do so he will make sure your work is done right, and fast.
