Our original florist unfortunately came down with a serious health condition two months before our wedding date and could no longer provide the flowers for our wedding. Fortunately, Gerych's had availability for our date on short order! It was more expensive than we had anticipated, but they were willing to work with me when I asked about cutting costs where we could. While I was initially concerned that the bouquets didn't look like the inspiration I sent, I quickly realized that they were possibly even better. This is a wonderful place with amazing staff and designers. I called up for a funeral flower arrangement and had no idea what to ask for or what the prices were. I explained what I wanted and they were so nice to work with me. Then I called back a few more times changing it when the family kept changing their mind! They were super patient and so nice and understanding. I would highly recommend them for any event. I only knew that they did flowers, but they also do any special occasions and you can rent everything from linens and flowers to decorations from them. They also have an awesome gift shop! I was just driving home from Fenton one day when I saw Gerych's on the side of the road and quickly pulled in! They have such a wonderful selection of not just houseplants, but so many other cute home decor and things that inspired me to update my interior decor as well. :) Each room you walk through at this establishment is filled with themed decor and it's so fun to walk through each room and be looking on new & unique items just waiting to inspire your creativity! They were having a sale when I went as well, which was exciting. I picked up a couple of pots and plant tools that I have been using religiously since then. Everything in the sale section was final sale, which makes complete sense as this is often the case during sales. I purchased those items and went to head out, but as I did, I noticed a pot not in the sale section, but wanted to get it anyways, so I went to check out again. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed they also had labeled this full-price pot I purchase as a final sale item as well. I thought that was a bit odd, and can only assume this means that the entire shop, which is rooms and rooms full of non-sale items, with one room dedicated to the sale, were all final sale as long as the sale was going on, but regardless of whether the actual individual items in question were or weren't on sale. This now makes me nervous to shop there whenever they do have an ongoing sale because I expect all businesses these days to offer a return policy, especially for non-sale items. And especially for a business that specializes in home decor, you definitely need to find a spot in your house for the item and if it doesn't suit as well as you had envisioned, you would definitely want and appreciate the option to return or exchange it for something that'll suit your needs better. I was driving home and was lost as usual and saw this beautiful florist and surrounding garden and greenhouse so I turned around and stopped and went in. I thought it would be fun to send flowers to a dear lady at church. I was working with a new employee but I believe the owner may have stepped up. I was so fortunate to have both of them help me. I wanted something very happy and pretty so they created a vase full of sunflowers and other colorful flowers. They sent it the same day! And.. my friend was so delighted. Early on a Saturday morning I found myself in a frenzy looking for a dozen roses for someone sweet and could not figure out where to turn. Calling down the list here on Yelp, Gerych's was second on the list and answered. 'Do you have roses and can I buy them, right now?' 'We certainly do and although we're not open c'mon around the back and we'll set you up :)' Whew! Walking in to this store I was blown to smitherines that such quality existed in tiny town Fenton. While they were preparing my order I was able to wonder the wondrous store and was taken aback at the amazing furniture and dishes and lovely trinkets that were displayed so fashionably everywhere. I was also blown to smitherines and taken aback by the ridiculous price tags. Talk about exploiting us poor Fentonites, my goodness. Gerych's helped us out a lot with the planning and decor for my sister's wedding in Fenton. My mom and I had a last-minute fire drill when we found out we needed a curtain wall to put in the kitchen the day before the wedding, and the lovely event coordinator (I think her name was Marissa but I could be mistaken) at Gerych's was EXTREMELY helpful. I sent her pictures of the space we needed it for, and she sent back photos of different options until we found beautiful white chiffon pipe and drape. Not only that, but she had it delivered within 2 hours on the very same day so that we could put it up and decorate it ASAP before the wedding. They were extremely kind, flexible, and helpful. Matthew, the gentleman who brought the curtain over and assembled it, was very helpful and nice as well, and even talked and joked around with us as we all worked together to set up for the event. Gerych's did so much to help make my sister's wedding happen, and their service was excellent, which put my family's nerves at ease. I would 100% recommend them. read more

Your wedding day is supposed to be a dream come true right? As a little girl you grow up dreaming about what your wedding will look like. You find the man of your dreams and decide to get married. What an exciting time and you want everything to be so beautiful and perfect. I did not get that. My dreams were completely crushed. We booked Gerych's as our wedding venue. It wasn't our first option but being a bride and groom during a pandemic, a lot of other venues were booked. I should have followed my gut and pulled out early when things first started to go wrong with the employees here. I was bounced around with so many different "event coordinators" that I was getting told so many different things I didn't know what to believe.There were so many empty promises given to us and such a lack of explanation. Closer to our wedding date we had the train wreck of a time dealing with Dianna for the remainder of planning. This girl would pretend to write things down and I swear just throw them in the trash. Close to nothing she said she would do or set up for our wedding was done the day of. We had zero help setting up the day before. The only thing that was set up were the tables. The napkin linens were in bags sitting on the tables for us to do ourselves. An employee in the gift shop screamed at us after hours of setting up ourselves, for having open containers during set up, when we would be having an open bar the following day? Zero sense. We were told we had access to the walk in cooler to store our bar supplies over night. As my family was loading things in, employees were telling them to stop and that they could not use it. On our wedding day, important things like our grandmothers photo that had just passed was not set up at the ceremony. Something Dianna said she would do. Never led my guests to the reception site there or told anyone where to go. Left a garden hose out right where the bride would be walking down the "isle" after multiple times of asking to put it away JUST for the 30 minute ceremony. We got our expensive wedding photography pictures back and tons were ruined due to the lack of attention to details on Gerych's part. Even with hard editing. We were told we would have full access to the bathroom throughout the event. We did rent a Porta Potty for outside so there would not be a long line as there is only one bathroom inside. They told them the wrong place to put it. An employee told my 6 and a half month pregnant sister in law she and the other guest could not use their restroom. Dianna told us we could have access to the rental supply room the whole night to keep our belongings in. She ended up moving our personal belongings to her office and locking that room without telling us. She told us we would have "plenty of staff" to help roll tables & chairs away after dinner to make room for dancing. Something we paid extra in the contract for. Wrong again. Myself in my wedding dress and my groom, along with our wedding party, were rolling tables and putting chairs away after dinner to make room for dancing. Later on when I went to find my belongings, I found Dianna sitting in her office online shopping for dresses. Where she spent the entire evening. If she would have been out helping like we paid for her to be, she would have noticed one of her coworkers snuck her dogs into the greenhouse where I found them jumping up on the buffet tables eating our guests' food we paid for. How lovely. The blonde employee was wearing pajama clothes and decided to help herself to our open bar along with our wedding cake. I noticed her when she was out on the dance floor cutting up a rug with cake in one hand, booze in the other. Dianna was pulled out of her domain to be notified and did remove the strange employee. Cutting it short. The few employees that were there during the day, treated my guests so poorly. We were told Gerych's will no longer host wedding events and I think that is the best decision they have made. We understood it was a working greenhouse, but so many false promises as far as weddings. So disappointed. There were many, many other things that went wrong here, as I could go on.. The place was beautiful I will say, but knowing what was going on between the lines is what made it so hard to look past. If Gerych's ever does decide to host weddings again for whatever chaotic reason...run for the hills and get married literally anywhere else. Save yourself the heart ache. read more

Jon Gerych and his team is the BEST of the BEST! He made my wedding vision come true and it was beyond anything I could have imagined. My husband and I sent his so many different pictures and ideas and he somehow was able to take all of it and make it so beautiful. We had a destination wedding in Florida and the whole process was seamless and stress free because of Gerych's. When I walked into the reception room, my breath was literally taken away. It was romantic, tropical, and just simply gorgeous. Him and his team were such a delight to work with. They were responsive, hardworking, enthusiastic, and so creative. I would highly recommend using him. There is no one else in Michigan (or in the country in my opinion) who can create such a beautiful and unique experience for you and your guests. read more

A while back (Pre-Covid) my wife's family had a celebration where we engaged Gerych's to provide flowers, and everything else for a good sized gathering. The team far exceeded my expectations! There were so many folks involved, and it's been a while, so I apologize that I can't remember everyone's name, but in particular, I do remember Cindy. She was a doll and ensured that everything she was doing or was a part of was done to the highest standards. I've loved this biz for years - and yesterday we visited in search of little plants for my fairy garden and terrarium projects. The staff is SO friendly and helpful. They are also very knowlegable (spell?) - Our daughter always sends my gifts from Gerychs and they are always WAY over the top of what she paid for. Wonderful place. I have sworn off of ordering flowers online forever and love to shop locally so when I wanted to order flowers for my mom's 80th birthday I called Gerych's. The woman on the phone helped me with both the price and my selection. I chose to send her 80 carnations in all colors available to be delivered on her big day. They were delivered and my Mom was very happy. The thing about my Mom is that she has accounting in her blood and when I told her there were supposed to be 80 of them she proceeded to count them. Well, guess what? No there were only 62 flowers. She called Gerych's not as much to complain as to let them know. They not only profusely apologized but sent ME a fresh bouquet of flowers, I could not have been more surprised or impressed with their customer service. Outstanding. We have a family house in Holly and stopped by to pick up some flowers.... while we found some DECENT flowers that were inexpensive the customer service was HORRIBLE. We walked around the place for 15 minutes just looking for the register. We could find not a soul who could help us. When we did...they were short with us and did of of those Walmart "it's over there" point and turns. After I help my mom gather all the flowers with no staff assistance we get back to the register only to continue to be treated poorly. The cashier refused to return my moms money in her hand as it was given to her and was reluctant to give us boxes to carry all the flowers we bought. The only thing good they have going for them is that their the only flower shop in town....otherwise I'd say go elsewhere with higher quality products and better service!!! read more

I called the Saturday before Mother's Day and asked if they would have time to put something together for my mother and deliver today. The lady that answered the phone politely said yes and then asked if I could hold on for a minute. I said yes, assuming they were busy. Literally ten minutes later I hung up because no one had gotten back to me and called back asking if they had forgotten about me. The same lady said no they hadn't forgotten then rudely said "what do you want?". Well, with that kind of response, I want nothing. I've never had a flower shop do so much for me at such short notice. It's Sunday, I'm going to the National Cemetery in Holly to visit my dad's gravesite for the first time, we stop at Gerych's and see it won't open in another hour or so, but I explain to the woman outside my problem (I've got an early flight to catch at Detroit metro) and WOW! she introduces me to Jon Gerych, who says "come in". I get a super arrangement, pay for it, visit my dad and get to Detroit well in time for my flight. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. My now wife and I went in the store a couple months ago inquiring about flowers for our wedding. We honestly walked around the place for 10 whole minutes without seeing a single staff member. Not knowing how to get help, we walked to the back of the store where 2 staff members were talking and continued to talk, despite our obvious presence. We were rudely acknowledged and shown to a room to wait. We then met with a woman to take our information. The woman was rude and acted as if we were annoying her....ok!? and then when she realized we are a same sex couple she was obviously uncomfortable. She wanted to get us out of their store as soon as possible. Telling us items we inquired about were "really expensive, you might want to talk about that first"...as if we couldn't afford it (how would she know?). Anyways we never got a call back and ended up using Vogt's in Flint which was AMAZING. Oh and we'll never come back here again. read more
