As a participant, I received a free entrance to the Kidspace Children's Museum that happens to be within the park's vicinity. Very cool! Kidspace is a nonprofit museum designed to "delight and engage children emotionally, intellectually, and physically through joyful, kid-driven experiences." It is a place for play, discovery, creation, and exploration. It offers a world of curiosity and intrigue. It features 40 hands-on exhibits for small children from ages 1-10. Outdoor spaces include an opportunity to climb into a giant hawk's nest, splash and play in naturalistic water features, bring out inner musicians, and get physical with rockets and giant levers. Indoor space consists of galleries, active beehive, imagination workshop, ant tunnel, climbing towers, etc. Bookstore with books and merchandise for purchase. Deli with food, drinks, and refreshments for sale. Tables and chairs are outside in the patio. Restrooms are available throughout the museum. I was so happy to have gotten the opportunity to visit. I loved how most of it was outdoors with natural elements. The physics area had tanbark. There were yurt-type tents for private birthday parties. There's a theater area where people played guitar and performed songs like "you got a friend in me." Parking was free! The parking lot was massive and easy to find a spot. The stream was fun for kids to get wet in without the dangers of sharp real rocks. I also loved the stream and sand area with soft rocks. My kids could've stayed in that area forever. There were also climbable areas with well-thought out side spaces for parents to follow their kids without parents having to get into the play structure itself. We enjoyed tie-dyeing cloths and bicycle riding. I liked how there were different size bikes and even a 2 person bike. My older toddler drove my little toddler but adults can also ride in the bike and peddle for little ones sitting in the front. The neighborhood around the museum was also beautiful with mature canopy trees and natural canyon-looking areas. The price is also really affordable at $15-16 pp. There's senior discounts as well. In the craft room my kids made adventure books. We spent 3 hours there but could've easily spent more if it weren't for kids being too tired. The bad: We didn't fully get to explore the indoor area because it was really crowded. We didn't see the foam blue blocks that Blippi played with in his episode. There was a long wait for the bike rides but it was because each kid gets to go 4-5 laps. $6 dip-n-dots in a tiny bag are a rip off. I wish they had better ice cream options there. My older loves animals, insects, and other non-human creatures so this place seemed perfect. We had been many years ago with our littles and they distinctly remember a giraffe so we figured their cousins would enjoy the experience too. We arrived at around 11 am on a Monday morning and found parking relatively easy- I think we were one of two families there which made it easy. There is a very small parking lot just outside the entrance and street parking. We entered through a really fun gift shop and made our way in. They have many exhibits of foxes, monkeys, birds, reptiles, and other small-to-medium sized animals to learn about. Each exhibit provided a learning display. We made our way through the "center" in just under two hours- really taking out time at each exhibit. Wr only noticed a couple of other families with littles as well, making it super easy to move through. While we say snakes foxes parrots and more, we don't see the giraffe . We did learn while we were there though that the giraffe was just visiting as it was being trained by the nextdoor business for television!!! Apparently that's a thing. Love L.A.! We were pleasantly surprised by how fun and interesting this place was. Lots of animals to see with opportunities for interactions with wildlife. My favorites had to be the squirrel monkeys, marmosets, and all of the cats! It was also nice to hear of the center's efforts to help animals that had been in poor conditions due to wildlife trafficking. All of the staff members we encountered were friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to enjoy their work with the wildlife. For around $16 a ticket, I will definitely be back and maybe looking into doing an individual animal experience!

There's a dedicated seating area, but the snack bar is currently limited to just chips. Hopefully, they'll expand the menu in the future. In the meantime, it seems like bringing your own food is an option. The hallway leading to the restrooms is well-designed, and the bathrooms themselves are impressively high-tech, with some featuring two sinks on opposite sides, an interesting touch. I haven't visited with my kids yet, but it looks like we'll be making a trip soon. The real test will be whether they enjoy it. On a positive note, there's plenty of parking available on the side.
