Had such a fun experience here! We had the first reservation for the day, which was at 10am on Sunday. Neida was our instructor and she was great. She was detailed with her directions and also demonstrated the steps well before having us jump in. She also told us reasonings behind what we were doing to make us understand the process. I chose to make a bowl while my bf did a small flower vase. The process was so calming and our instructor made it so easy to understand. Parking: there were plenty of street parking for our time frame. For busier days though, I'd say give yourself ample time! read more

Our team had an absolute blast at Pottery Studio 1! We came in for a team-building session on 2/24/26, and it was easily one of the best outings we've had. A massive shoutout to our instructor, Rhiley Jane. Rhiley was patient, incredibly skilled, and kept the energy high the entire time. Just had the best time at Pottery Studio 1 for a fun afternoon with my coworkers. Gabby, Emily, Rachel, Jessel and Tammy were awesome teachers and kept our large group of 20 folks on task while having fun. They were great at teaching the variety of levels of experience we had in the group. We were there for about 3 hours and each of us got to make something on the wheel and hand building including glazing our pieces. Super cute studio, very clean and the class was well paced and fun. read more

Very unprofessional establishment. Very bad experience. Rushed experience, told the attendant I wanted to make a vase and ended up with a dog bowl. They pretty much made my shape for me didn't get a full hands on experience. Plus now I want to pick up my items and they keep having excuses on why they're closed. Seems understaffed. I recommend looking into a better studio and don't waste your money on this overpriced under delivering experience. read more

Following my last review, I emailed Pottery Studio 1 and they were happy to reglaze and fire the mugs. As I do not live close to the location and would have to make two 80 minute trips in order to get it refired, I declined this and was eventually able to get refunded the difference between a pottery class and one with the painting add on. I was satisfied with this resolution, as the issue I had was with paying extra for painting and making it food safe. I appreciate their willingness to resolve this issue. read more

For years I've wanted to take a pottery class. Finally, for my 35th bday my husband made it happen. We walked in not knowing what to expect. EDITTED: I forgot that I already left a review so I came to write it again after picking up. My first time making pottery! The instructors are so sweet. They guided us through every process and it's super fun! I think 2 hr was not enough for decoration time to our hearts' content but it's not too bad. We waited 1-2 months for the firing and glazing. They're pretty responsive when asking about the pick up. I'll be back here if I want to do pottery again. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. We had an appointment scheduled weeks in advance, and it was canceled about 30 seconds before our start time, while we were literally pulling in to park. We were told the instructor was sick, which is understandable--but our appointment was at noon, and the studio had the entire morning to notify us. Waiting until the last possible moment to cancel shows a complete lack of consideration for customers' time. This class was meant to be a surprise birthday gift, which made the situation even more upsetting. We had planned our day around this experience, and the last-minute cancellation left us with no ability to make alternative plans. Emergencies happen, but professionalism is about timely communication. Unfortunately, this was handled very poorly and left us with a negative impression of the studio. Also booking on website says $200 for date private session but they tried to tell me it was $300 while taking the deposit. Maybe I dodged a bullet. read more

Such a horrible experience. From the time I booked the appointment on the phone, to having to pay at the end, it was a horrible experience. When I first called to book, I already could tell that whoever I spoke to on the phone had a horrible attitude. Against my better judgment, I booked the appointment because I couldn't find another studio that had a time slot on the date I wanted to come in. My best friend and I arrived and immediately felt the horrible energy from our instructor. The entire time she was extremely sarcastic, condescending and had overall negative, horrible vibes. It made the entire experience awkward and not fun. It was my best friend's birthday and she was really excited about this and she left feeling very unhappy about the whole situation. At the end, when we tried to pay, they would not allow me to pay with Apple Pay. I asked them could you please send me a link how you sent me the deposit and they swore they couldn't do it. The girl simply gave off the attitude of "oh sorry, figure it out" vibes. Horrible horrible horrible experience. Such a cute place with so much potential and maybe other instructors were less miserable and condescending, but our experience last night was HORRIBLE. read more

To get started, you can use a pencil to draw, tracing paper for a printed design, stickers as stencils, or even lace for cool designs. After painting, you'll come back in a week to pick up the piece after they glaze it. A group of five of us came for a fun girls' day and spent about two-ish hours painting and gabbing. The staff were so nice in giving us a mini-orientation and even helping us out when we made the dreaded paint mistake! It's a great spot for friends, kids, a date, or a solo outing if you want to be creative. They have a complimentary parking lot, otherwise, there's metered parking and free street parking in the neighborhoods across Wilshire. My *very* first job was at a Color Me Mine in Valencia in 2000, and it delights me that the franchises still look very much like they did back in the day. This location is clean and mostly well-equipped (they didn't have squeeze bottles for writing), and it was easy and straightforward to get started. The staff were friendly and helpful. I chose a cereal bowl (believe me, though, I was very tempted by the more whimsical ceramic pieces, such as the cat jar and the, uh, "beakers" :P ), and while I didn't originally have a design in mind, I was inspired by the tile wall to paint an ocean theme. I spent a few very pleasant hours glazing my bowl. I added a small ceramic boat and asked the staff (writing it in the notes on my slip) to glue it in the middle of the bowl. It turned out SO cute. When we asked the attendant how we could fix it, she said she didn't know and literally walked away mid-conversation to help someone else. She clearly did not care about our party once we sat down. My bill was almost $300 and the mandatory gratuity was $49.32 which was absolutely not worth the service we got. I doubt we would come back to your store since we never had this issue at Color Me Mine.

Overall, it was a great experience which is what you are paying for (not for my amateur oddly shaped bowl!).

Here's the deal: the instructors are great, the space is lovely, but the administration in inept, and thats being generous. The core issue is there have multiple locations, cross their own lines, ask for triple paperwork over their own errors, and then outright miss classes -- without so much as a scent of compassion or apology. I write this because we love coming here, but we can't devote the bandwidth to rude managers, careless schedulers, and all around incompetent team leaders. They need new managers. read more

Looking for someone to apply a protective coating, my boyfriend and I contacted Tova after seeing positive Yelp reviews. Although I was unsure about the clay's composition, Tova assured me she could handle it using a low-heat process. When I dropped it off, I explained how important this memorial was to me. Tova was kind and promised to take good care of it. However, when we followed up a week later, she informed us that the paw print had melted and broken into three pieces. When I finally reached her by phone, she claimed I had asked her to "fire" the piece, which I never did, and suggested the paw print might not even be made of clay. After I confirmed with the original company that it was clay, she told me to take the issue up with them. I only wanted to understand what happened. What hurt most was her response afterward. She asked me to bring my dog back to make another paw print, apparently forgetting that Bubu had passed away. She became defensive, dismissed my concerns, and ended the call abruptly. Fearing the damaged paw print might be discarded, I arranged to pick it up immediately. Instead of meeting us, she left the melted remains on her porch for my boyfriend to collect. There was no apology, refund, or acknowledgment of the significance of what had been lost. Tova was rude and irresponsible, which is totally unacceptable. If Tova lacked the expertise to work with the piece, I wish she had been honest from the beginning rather than risking something irreplaceable. Because of this experience, a precious memorial of my beloved dog is gone forever. I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision before trusting this business with sentimental or irreplaceable items.
