Rhiley was amazing, very patient, and a great teacher to first timers. Can't wait to drink coffee out of my cup

This was such a fun experience! Ava was really patient when we asked lots of questions while creating our mugs. Ava helped us create the cutest little mugs and hyped us up when we'd do well. Rhiley descriptively supported us as we painted and gave us tricks and tips for when we'd need. I had sooo much fun and would recommend and definitely would come back!!!!

My friend Te-see and I were looking for an adventure. We decided to "throw some clay" as she said, and found Pottery Studio 1. It was easy to make a reservation and pay online. I ended up parking in the lot behind the building which was $10. When the time came for our session, we had a bit of trouble locating the studio. It was a Sunday afternoon, and I think some of the building entrances are locked. We ended up walking around to the back and the security guard gave us directions on where to go. We were greeted promptly and checked in. First, we were given a chance to view some of the other creations there to help us decide what to make. Princess and Rhiley were great--very helpful and patient with all of us. When the time came to get messy, Princess guided us along the way. It was a bit scary, but she calmed our nerves. This was a great way for me to get some good use out of my Meta Glasses. I was able to take photos and videos even while my hands were covered in clay! Then we were given an opportunity to design the pieces. It takes about 6 weeks for the pieces to be available for pickup and you have a month after it's ready to pick it up. Follow their website and their IG account for updates on when pieces are available. We would both definitely come back here to experience this again!

    I made a paint palette.

Miss Riley Jane and Ava were so nice and helpful! Great class. Went with my mom and my sister, we all made great pieces!

The prepped wheel with clay waiting for us to create something fab

Who wants to throw some clay?! I do, I do!!!! And this is just the place to do that! My friend Danielle and I wanted to do something out of our usual comfort zone and she suggested a pottery class...We signed up for a 2 hour session on a Sunday afternoon which was perfect! Less DTLA traffic and free street parking if you can find a spot! Princess & Rhiley greeted us when we entered then walked us through the steps for our session. The 2 of us and a young couple had Princess as our guide and she was AMAZING!!!! I loved how she helped us and encouraged us throughout our entire session. Both her and Rhiley were fantastic! We started at the wheel then moved over to the table to finish our projects. I made a bowl with another small bowl attached to the side. Danielle made a bowl. It was so much fun! *The cost: $90 for 2 hours/1glazing process or $130 for 2 hours/paint & glaze 2 times for dishwasher & food safe *you can pick up your pottery 3 weeks after your class if you don't paint it here *4 weeks if you paint it *On Sunday you may have to enter from the lobby on Broadway then take the elevator all the way in the back to the Lobby on 2nd Street *Parking in the lot behind the building $10 or meter parking if you can find it *Great for birthday's, large groups, and classes available. ~ and that's all I have to say about that ~

We booked a couples pottery class for our anniversary. We had Princess as our instructor and she was super fun and helpful! We appreciated all of her tips and insight, as this was our first time doing any type of pottery. This was such a fun date experience!

Had the best time making pottery! It was my first time and Princess made it easy and approachable. I would come back again!

First time here and we absolutely loved the experience! Rhiley Jane took her time walking us through each step with so much patience and made it really fun. I had such a great time and didn't expect pottery to feel so peaceful and calming. I'm honestly considering getting a membership after this class. She also graciously offered to take a photo of us at the end, which was such a sweet touch! Also, parking was super convenient--located right behind the building.

Definitely a great visit and experience. I'm not confident in my artistic skills but Princess helped me feel comfortable and was very patient with my questions! Princess is knowledgeable in her craft and can really break down the process for those of us who are not so knowledgeable. She was attentive and supportive to all of our different levels. She gave ideas and helped me develop my ideas for my piece! I appreciate her kindness.

Our instructor Riley Jane was amazing and glad we did the late night session since it was more 1 on 1 which we definitely needed.

To get started, you can use a pencil to draw, tracing paper for a printed design, stickers as stencils, or even lace for cool designs. After painting, you'll come back in a week to pick up the piece after they glaze it. A group of five of us came for a fun girls' day and spent about two-ish hours painting and gabbing. The staff were so nice in giving us a mini-orientation and even helping us out when we made the dreaded paint mistake! It's a great spot for friends, kids, a date, or a solo outing if you want to be creative. They have a complimentary parking lot, otherwise, there's metered parking and free street parking in the neighborhoods across Wilshire. Tips: - You can see their current inventory online and they can order you a specific piece if you give them a month's heads up. - For words or numbers, bring your own stickers. Otherwise, you can purchase theirs and they have lace for sale too. - Check out their Instagram for inspiration! - For the non-artistic types, I highly recommend printing out a design you want in advance. You can trace it directly on a plate or the like and then just paint it with colors (or pick something easy like an animal to paint). Have fun!

ARTime BARRO is part pottery studio, part community space, and is a relaxing, chill place where you can unleash the creativity you thought was dead, where your artistic spirit gets to come out to play, if only for just a little bit of time in this crazy world. On a recent weekend, I had the opportunity to take the One-Time Class, which is a one-hour course designed for complete beginners. You get to make two pieces, one by hand at the table and one on the pottery wheel. The class size was small (just 5 people) and we got great 1:1 instruction and guidance from our knowledgeable instructor Max. I've always wanted to try the wheel and was surprised how hard it was to use it but it was such a great experience that I think everyone should try at least once. After you sculpt your pieces, you are invited to come back to hand paint (glaze) your work at no additional cost. You can also have them do a one-color glaze for you, but after I saw all the multi-colored pieces of other folks previous to me, it was no contest to decide that I wanted to color my pieces myself. You have up to 3 months to come back to glaze so it's very doable in anyone's busy LA (corporate) lifestyle. Pricing was very reasonable for such a cool bespoke experience. There are a lot of pottery painting studios (e.g. Color Me Mine) but this is awesome bc you get to make the pottery AND color it later! I've already recommended this place to countless people!
