This was so much fun, thanks to Princess and Rhiley! It was my husband's and my first time taking a pottery class, so we really appreciated how patient they were with us, especially me, because Lord knows I kept messing up on the wheel and asking a ton of questions while painting. The first half of the class was on the wheel, where Princess guided us through forming and sculpting our pottery pieces. She had to step in and help me quite a few times... okay, a lot of times, because I was definitely struggling lol. My husband, on the other hand, was doing pretty well. He made an ashtray, and I made a jewelry dish. After that, we dried the clay and moved over to the table with Rhiley to paint. That part was so therapeutic, and I'm really excited to see how our finished pieces turn out. Rhiley let us know they'll be ready in about 3-4 weeks, and that we need to remember to pick them up ourselves since the studio does not call. She did mention that they post the piece numbers on Instagram, and a number was stamped on the back of each of our pieces. We took the class on a Sunday and parked in one of the public parking lots nearby. We purchased the 2-person, 2-hour pottery class through Groupon for $170. Since we wanted to paint and have the pieces glazed, we paid an additional $40 per person. Overall, this was such a fun and relaxing experience, and I'd definitely recommend it for a date or something different to do. read more

My partner surprised me with a private pottery class at Pottery Studio 1 and it was such a special experience. It was my first time ever throwing clay, and having a one-on-one environment made it feel really comfortable and personal. Our instructor, Princess, was wonderful. She struck the perfect balance of guiding us while still letting us take the lead so the pieces truly felt like our own creations. Anytime we had an idea, she helped us figure out how to actually make it happen on the wheel, which made the whole process feel really empowering and creative. Princess also brought such great energy to the class -- she was patient, encouraging, and genuinely fun to spend time with. I took my friend here for her birthday and we had the BEST time! The studio has such a fun and welcoming vibe, and it was the perfect way to celebrate. I took a group of high school students to this studio for a field trip. Our instructors Rhiley, Gissel, Gabby, and Princess were so attentive, and helpful. They knew how to work with our students, how to explain the process in a very accessible and informative way. Our teacher and counseling staff chaperones raved about the experience after and are already requesting future field trips here again! More importantly our students had a wonderful experience learning, and were exposed to a new art medium in an environment that was not pretentious, that made it safe for them to be their authentic selves, and inspiring. After you sculpt your pieces, you are invited to come back to hand paint (glaze) your work at no additional cost. You can also have them do a one-color glaze for you, but after I saw all the multi-colored pieces of other folks previous to me, it was no contest to decide that I wanted to color my pieces myself. You have up to 3 months to come back to glaze so it's very doable in anyone's busy LA (corporate) lifestyle. Pricing was very reasonable for such a cool bespoke experience. Allyson is easy going, attentive, and approachable. She's patient, kind, and was extremely flexible with scheduling lessons. I purchased the Date Night package, which included a private session with just an instructor and ourselves, and it looked like it had the potential to be a great experience. Unfortunately, it didn't quite go as smoothly as expected. When we arrived, instead of walking into a prepared, romantic setup, we had to wait for a kids' party to finish. Only after they left did the staff begin setting up the room, placing candles and flower petals, which felt rushed and unorganized. Our instructor seemed distracted from the start, mentioning that he needed to go to lunch. Throughout the class, he continued to talk about it, and it felt like the whole process was being hurried which was disappointing especially since we thought we had a full two-hour session. Halfway through, he actually left for lunch. Thankfully, Princess stepped in and turned things around. She adjusted the lighting, took her time with us, made us feel comfortable, and gave us the attention we needed to finish properly. Overall, the idea is great and it could have been a memorable night. But for the amount of money spent, the lack of organization and professionalism really took away from the experience. From the moment I walked in, the environment felt welcoming, creative, and encouraging. I had the pleasure of learning wheel throwing with Riley, who was incredibly patient, supportive, and made the entire process feel smooth and easy, especially for someone still learning. The guidance and encouragement truly made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the class. Princess was also amazing and helped me through the painting process with so much kindness and care. The whole experience felt relaxing, therapeutic, and genuinely fun. You can really tell the team is passionate about what they do and wants everyone to enjoy the creative process. Rhiley is the kind of instructor who makes everyone in the room feel comfortable from the very first moment. Patient, warm, and genuinely fun -- she never made us feel rushed or self-conscious when things went sideways (and they did, more than once ). For our company Christmas event, we took a trip to this pottery studio for some creative fun. I didn't know what to expect, and must say it was a great experience. Riley, our teacher, was excellent at explaining the basics on how to create our pieces. She even helped me when I botched my pinch bowl project and gave me a new set of clay to start over. She made the experience memorable and her patience in helping us achieve the best possible outcome was well appreciated. The experience was therapeutic. Our world can get so crazy, especially in Los Angeles. Yet stepping into this little studio in the epicenter of all the busy chaos, I felt like I stepped into a peaceful space that left all the noise in another realm. It's quiet and peaceful. We were warmly greeted by our instructor, Princess, who made us feel welcome right away. We started by drawing inspiration from the beautiful pottery pieces displayed around the studio. The class was intimate just my sister and me which made it extra special as we celebrated her birthday. Princess was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, especially during the shaping stage. She even helped me work around my long nails (though I'd definitely recommend shorter nails for the best experience!). We then moved on to decorating, using 3D stamps to add unique details to our pieces, followed by the painting process. Overall, it was such a fun and memorable experience. I recently attended a 2-hour Pottery & Painting Class for two this past Saturday, and it was an amazing experience! Our instructor, Ms. Rhiley Jane, was absolutely fantastic. During the first hour, we worked on the potter's wheel and created our own unique pieces. Ms. Rhiley Jane was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the entire process--offering thoughtful suggestions while still giving us plenty of creative freedom. the class was very rushed and instructor did not let us try to fix anything ourselves. waste of our time and money because we didn't learn anything. i don't even want my bowl because i basically didn't make it myself. during the painting session we were rushed and instructor kept coming back to let us know how much time we had left. they kept begging (like 5 times+) for reviews mentioning their name on three different platforms for a cash bonus. it was so awkward because they clearly weren't gonna stop begging and wouldn't let us leave without the reviews. tldr - terrible instruction and pacing - good reviews are incentivized go somewhere else! read more

Had such an amazing experience at Potter Studio! Princess, Aiden, and Tammie were all incredibly kind, patient, and super knowledgeable about pottery and using the pottery wheel. i really enjoyed this place! i went here for a school field trip, and all the instructors were so kind and patient. our guides for the day were Gabby, Princess, Rhiley, and Emi and all of them were so helpful in teaching us the basics of pottery. Having them with us really continued to spark my developing interest in ceramics and clay :) even if you arent big on ceramics, i recommend going here as it is a fun learning experience. the environment makes it a relaxing, stressless experience overall! read more

The emails were unnecessarily long, defensive, unprofessional, and patronizing. My concerns and request for a middle ground were met with condescending rhetorical questions and comparisons that completely missed the point. Look beneath the glossy branding and the environment feels cold, transactional, and sterile. To me, that's not a place that fosters creativity. A business can have firm policies while still treating customers with generosity and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

By the way, I was one of Michal's first students and a returning student. I have spent a total of $1,500 plus material fees with her.
