I was told I could exchange it, so I opened the replacement item right there in front of the cashier to make sure it actually worked before leaving the store. I never left the building with the item, and the box was not damaged at all. After realizing the original item actually functioned better than the replacement, I simply asked if I could have the first one back instead. What should have been a simple customer service interaction turned into a loud argument in front of other customers. The store clerk ultimately threw the replacement item on the counter and told me to leave the store. In the end, I was still left accepting a poor-quality item even after trying to calmly resolve the issue. I truly hope the manager reviews the video footage from tonight so he can teach his employees a little professionalism and how to properly handle customer service situations when management isn't around. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've been coming to this store for well over a decade and have always been treated with kindness and respect. The cashier is usually a very friendly guy, which made tonight even more shocking. People come in off both streets, the lot is angled, and some pumps are diesel only, so there is a lot of crazy driving going on- be careful.
