Well, basically I will no longer be purchasing anything inside Planet Fitness if I even choose to maintain member ship status. I will bring my own water, and/or tanning supplies. They will be getting zero $0 add-ons from this customer. I'm extremely disappointed in this company. I'm already sharing my frustration with whomever want to listen. One of my room mates, a female says she cancelled and is inquiring at Club Genesis for an alternate workout place. It is quite likely I may do the same.

The area is very open, and even when the parking lot is full the building doesn't seem that way. They have a walking track, basketball court, break area, pool, aerobics, rock wall, and full weight area. The good; I love that this place is so big, and that it doesn't seem packed. Their weight room is extensive, and has plenty of free weights and machines to fit any need. A rock wall who else has that?! And a few nice places to just relax. The bad; The majority of weight machines have seen better day's. Lot's are rusted, and cracked. Some of the weights don't seem to accurate. Also the track is a bit narrow; you really can't walk with more than one other person. And if two people are slow it's hard to pass them on the straight aways. I also noticed today that some people were running full-court basketball. Sure they had enough people, but this might be an issue if you just wanted to shoot some hoops on a Saturday. I also didn't notice any side activities like there are at my regular gym; pool, table tennis, and video games. I also hate that the use gobs of paper towels to clean the machines, what a waste "IMO" All in all its a nice gym, and serves its purpose. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Maybe I just am use to my gym. ;)

I am also a Silver Sneaker member but today I came with my granddaughters who are out of school. The older ladies working the front desk acted like it was such an inconvenience to wait on us. Then proceeded to let us know that none of the amenities for children are available until after 4 so that older members can enjoy it. Even the lifeguards were grumpy! School is out and kids should be able to enjoy the facilities! Isn't that what parks are for? What a shame! I have family that retired from the park board and they are appalled too. I was also disgusted by the restrooms and changing room. They smelled of urine terribly!

I've attended half a dozen or so morning classes that are usually some sort of circuit training. Each class is led by a friendly trainer and the class size has never been more than 12. Every station can be scaled to your ability. It's a good general workout when I'm on the road. The gym is very clean and all the equipment is in good shape. There are showers, but I haven't used them. The most attractive feature about AYB to me is the location. It's about a two minute walk from where I stay and work when in Springfield.

I've never been to a gym where an owner made me feel more comfortable. I was out of town (obviously) and didn't bring cash to buy a pre workout. He got into the machine for me a grabbed me one. Then he sat and talked to me about STL and some folks he knew from around where I'm from. Asked if I needed anything and made me feel welcome. The owner is a stand up guy and was a pleasure to meet. The whole gym was very clean, some of the equipment was a little older but WELL maintained. I was thoroughly impressed. There is quite a bit of space in there and enough equipment to keep plenty of people working at the same time. Vibe was super chill and all the workers and gym goers were very polite and cleaned up after themselves. Fast forward to later that day I lose my wallet.....shout out to women in the office that helped me check the cameras. She was super helpful. While we didn't think anyone stole it, we were trying to see if I had brought it in at all. Turns out it fell out of my pocket at the place I was staying. At any rate, she was very helpful. I 100% recommend this gym and will definitely be back when I'm in town!!!!! Thank you for making me feel at home.
