It was a great day with my daughter. She made the reservations and obtained the parking pass within 24 hrs of our visit online. The parking limitation actually works well as a little benefit is the villa is not overcrowded. The limitations allowed for us to appreciate absolute beauty in serenity. Take amazing photos for our picture albums and sit an enjoy the space as long as we wanted. Gorgeous in every way!

    Exquisite colors!

Came here when my parents visiting me from Hong Kong. It's a MUST to trick them into a light brunch at One Pico WITH mimosa and a Bloody Mary. ( you know asian parents can be quite grumpy if they found themselves stuck in traffic for a few minutes) It is pretty the moment we made up to the pebble paved road. The anticipation is high. Parking is indoor, well ventilated and the ocean breeze is amazingly refreshing. It squeezes out smiles on your face. As seen in pictures many of you have posted, materials used withstand the time. Even the door jam is made of marble. Looking up the ceiling you will see other details. I truly wish we have abundance of rain and water is flowing in the fountains. You must print out the tickets to be let in for parking. They look and eye count heads in your car.

Small museum store. Not a lot of variety, but has some jewelry, books, kids stuff, and some Getty memorabilia.

Neat things related to the museum, bit pricey as expected but sometimes I found cool stuff and bargain coffeetable books.

It's clean, thoughtfully put together, and has a beautiful selection of books, crystals, oils, candles, incense, and jewelry. Definitely a great place to browse and take your time. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that the person at the front (near the spiral staircase entrance) was having a full dinner at the register when I walked in. I completely understand needing to eat, but it made the space feel a little less open for interaction. I noticed people, including myself, kind of just looked around quietly and moved on without asking questions or making purchases. I actually had a few things I was considering buying, but I didn't feel comfortable interrupting, so I ended up leaving without them. It might help to have someone cover the front or step away briefly during breaks so the space still feels welcoming and easy to engage with. Overall, it's a beautiful shop, just a small tweak in that area could really enhance the experience.

I am so upset!! I was counting on getting my friend crystals from there. I even said out loud as we walked out that we'd be back after dinner to buy a bunch of items. Don't expect them to be open when they say they'll be open. Bad business practice!!

It was a pain to get here, lots of construction causing Terrible traffic and delays since we don't leave on Westside. When we went to check the movie section a store employee was sweeping around customers in that area. My husband went to look at movies and he called him out, insulting him as "oblivious". The employee was too concerned about some in store concert, moved things around. But not about getting business from customers. Rude customer service! Well, that's why folks shop online. Who needs this crap? You go through difficulties to come and support a local record store and that's what you get. No respect! On top, not enough merchandise, poor selection. Dusty. We left what merchandise we were planning on getting and left. To never return! Stay away!

All in the study reported feeling better post exercise but those who listened to "The Four Seasons" said they felt even better; performed even better in cognitive testing. Well, that was enough for me to trade in my vinyl for the aforementioned piece in CD format so I could listen in my car (remember it was twenty years ago). I played "The Four Seasons" as I drove to and from work, wrote reports, did my taxes (similar studies show improved math skills in children), or simply relaxed and like those in the non-control group Ohio study, I felt better even recruited long forgotten vocabulary! Mere weeks ago that very same CD bit the dust; skipped over way too many movements. I washed it, talked to it but it was gone... Yeah, I know there's a myriad of more technologically advanced listening platforms but I'm old school. Enter Record Surplus (The Westside's Amoeba equivalent?) for replacement and much, much more. This place is HUGE! If you can't find disks, vinyl here perhaps it doesn't exist. Ah, but it does! Knowledgeable staff will help you find what you seek. Found Itzhak Perlman's performance of "The Four Seasons" and some Mozart. Recycle or trade your unwanted CDs and vinyl here. Parking on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Came to attend a walking book club with The Preoccupied (check them out on IG) where our walk ended here. One of the strengths of this bookstore is that they feature local authors. The author we walked with actually had her book featured at Zibby's. I like that they support local talent because LA has been through so much this year already. When I came here, it was a little warm inside. Now that could've been because of all the people coming in post-walk but there may have been a chance the AC was having some issues. Now for your frugal auntie tip: participating in The Preoccupied's walking book club provides you with a couple Zibby's related benefits. Upon completing your walk and meeting up at Zibby's, you're rewarded with a 20% off discount at the store to be used right then and there. The book club also meets near Alta and 10th or 11th, which means you can find free residential street parking. Free parking is such a precious commodity in LA, and if you're up for an additional quick walk, consider this during your next visit. Come support this local business that's supporting other locals!

As one of the two campuses of the J. Paul Getty Museum, it is dedicated to the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. Its collection includes 44,000 Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities dating from 6,500 BC to 400 AD, featuring notable pieces such as the Lansdowne Heracles and the Victorious Youth. The Getty Villa was founded by businessman and art collector J. Paul Getty (1892-1976). We visited the Getty Villa on June 8, 2026, and found it to be an excellent family-friendly destination. Admission is free, with only a $25 parking fee, making it an affordable outing. The museum's collection is truly breathtaking, showcasing everything from sculptures and mummies to jewelry and sarcophagi - each piece telling a remarkable story. We spent about two hours exploring on our own, which seemed just right, taking time to read the exhibits and capture photos. The gift shop offered a variety of unique items, and we stopped at the Café for a small snack. While the Café was a bit overpriced, it was still a nice break. Overall, the Getty Villa is a wonderful and memorable place to visit. It's inspiring to see how Getty chose to share such extraordinary art and history with the public. Highly recommended!
