This was my second time doing this tour. My in laws were in town and we decided to take them to do something touristy. We got to explore the Island of Palm Beach which is part of West Palm Beach. We met at the corner of Worth Avenue; we were early so nobody was there yet. Our tour guide showed up a little before the tour which was at 8:00 pm. Five other patrons showed up and we were on our way. We found parking down the street near the beach. The tour guide was very informative. The second tour I've been to was exactly like the first except we had a difference tour guide. We stopped by outside of a few different stores such as Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Cartier, and Tiffany & Co. There was a ghost story linked to each building. Since this area was so old and historical there were tons of good stories. I normally wouldn't be able to shop in this area so it was good to see how the rich lived. We were given two metal rods. If it crosses it means yes, if it doesn't, it means it's a no; if it is wide open and hits your shoulders that means a relative that has passed is nearby. When we were crossing the street on the crosswalk, people didn't want to stop even though there's a sign that states it's the law to let pedestrians cross. So I suggest being careful crossing the street because well, we almost got hit. Overall, it's a good tour to take once. The second time it was predictable since I knew all the stories. Bring sneakers because you will be walking about three miles. My in laws loved it but they were sore from the walk lol. In the end, the tour guide did a trivia, we won a couple of DVDs. Waste of money, even with a Groupon. My friends wanted to leave within the 10 minutes. The guide made no sense, he talked so fast, walked so fast (not fair to older folks in our tour), and overall I can come up with 10 things to do on a Friday night other than this! My friends and me agreed that this could have been a lot better. Maybe costume or his get up could have changed. He even made some small jokes along with his ghost stories, which did not help to set the mood of a ghost walking tour. I do like history so some of the historic elements were nice but most of the things he said sounded so meh because he was saying one thing and then all of a sudden he would start walking and hardly finish what he was saying. There was 15-20 people so that was also a issue because it was harder to follow. Some positives from this tour, it's a nice walk and the beach is right there for the cool breeze of the night. But I recommend you taking a walk independently and discovering Worth Ave by yourself. It is a beautiful area with nice stores and restaurants.~ read more

Our family LOVES ghost tours. That being said, this was a bit boring. These tours are VERY dependent on the tour guide, and ours (Jake) obviously had somewhere else to be. Well, this was a disappointment. We've been on several ghost tours, and this just doesn't measure up. Our guide, Kat, was really good in explaining the history of Worth Avenue, famous early inhabitants, Flagler and Meizner, but overall, Palm Beach just doesn't have a sordid past. She did the best she could do with limited content to work with. This was more of a historical walking tour of the buildings around Worth Avenue. In past ghosts tours we've done in many other cities, we usually hear details of murders, suicides, unexplained deaths...you get the picture. The stories on this tour were just unexplained happenings, i.e. a ding-dong sound when the door opened at Saks, but no one there, a shadow in the windows of Neiman Marcus. Big deal. There's very little history of terrible things happening in the area, and I really don't think Palm Beach warrants a ghost tour because of it. We had highly anticipated this tour since reading about it late last year. They just started the tours in December, so we bought a Groupon in February and it was just about to expire My husband and I, along with about 30 other people (they promised a small tour, but this was NOT a small group whatsoever), walked along the sidewalks of Worth Ave and adjoining streets, admiring architecture and shops and cars of the extremely wealthy residents of the area. However, there was just nothing creepy at all about this tour. I really wanted creepy! Oh, but we DID get to see the tombstone of Johnnie Brown inside Addison Meizner's mansion. I went with a group of friends after we purchased the Groupon, and we had a great time! Our guide, Damian, was excellent and and very knowledgeable about the island and history there. I've been on other ghost tours and this one wasn't as scary, but I've lived in palm beach county my whole life and I I heard stories of never heard before! I bought the Ghosts of Palm Beach voucher for my fiancé for Father's Day! We have been on multiple ghost tours in various cities including St. Augustine, Charleston, Savannah, and Key West! We had a great time on the tour up and down Worth avenue! Although it wasn't as scary as the other tours we've been on, our tour guide Damian provided a lot of facts about the early 1900's. He also provided us with dowsing rods and taught us how to use them to find electromagnetic activity. I would recommend this tour to visitors and well as Palm Beach locals! read more

This tour was very disappointing. The tour was scheduled to start at 7:30, but we were told to arrive at 7:15. The "small group" of over 24 participants were all assembled and waiting. Claiming an issue with her sister's pet, the guide apologized over and over for arriving at 7:40, in a black outfit which was covered in hair. We have been on several ghost tours in other cities throughout the United States. We were told ghost stories and taken to the locations of the sightings. This is a poor historical explanation of Palm Beach, with tidbits of information about Flagler and Meizner, while walking along Worth Avenue. Our guide rambled on, at one point using the phrase "a blunt, sharp object, I think it was a statue" and mentioning things to interest you, which she followed up with "we will talk more about that later." The topics were never mentioned again. My husband and I left the tour at mid-point as boredom got the better of us. If you are interested in Palm Beach history, research it yourself on the internet. The content is not as scary or spooky as other ghost tours I have been on, but Evan and his son made the experience enjoyable. I wish I had read the earlier review before purchasing my Living Social voucher. I love ghost tours. I've been to a few throughout the years in some lovely, old towns. (St. Augustine, Key West, DC, etc.) This...just wasn't good. I'm glad I only paid for the voucher because I would have been really miffed if I had paid full price. The whole situation was odd. One of the women in my group received a cancellation email the day of our tour (after we had to wait over a month to use it.) But the rest of us (six of us) in our group did not. After a flurry of phone calls we were able to track down someone at the ghost tour and they told us that they would let all seven of us on the tour (even though they usually only allow six per group.) When we arrived it became very clear that not everyone received a cancellation email (or if they had, didn't read it before showing up) as there were at least 15 of us there for the tour. The walk was gorgeous, the beach was lovely. The tour itself was boring. Our guide's stories were disjointed, rambling, random, and often not even ghost stories. They were more general island history and anecdotal tales about how she's the local 'ghost girl' in town. She promised us stories of scandal and intrigue, but never got around to it. I'm not kidding when I say that at least three quarters of all the ghost stories started with "a friend of a friend of a friend told us..." or "this is not a good example...." or "this is just a rumor." The best story (although extremely long-winded) wasn't even about Palm Beach, but rather Jupiter. Two people on our tour escaped halfway through...and the rest of us were envious. The guide mentioned the most haunted via on Worth Ave, but didn't even take us there. We ended up backtracking on our own to see it for ourselves. The tour ended up running about two hours long and finished with her bragging about how popular the tour is and alluding to the idea that certain people in Palm Beach make it their mission to make sure that no one hears about their tour business. (Apparently it has nothing to do with the fact that there are Living Socials out for it even now.) After the tour ended my group went to a local pub and we all told stories of OUR ghostly encounters and unexplained experiences...which was so much better than the tour itself. read more

I really loved this tour. This was a nice way to spend a Saturday evening. The tour guides were energetic and full of historical and ghostly knowledge alike. If you are looking for people to jump out of the bushes at you then this tour is not for you. This is a adult tour with great stories and history. (Though the kids had fun too even without freddy kruger in the bushes). These girls will tell you about the historical ghosts in town. While our guide Damien was very friendly, polite and very courteous, the tour itself is not a must-do right now. It definitely needs finessing and there is no credibility behind it -- meaning, who says these stories? Are there any local landmarks that could back up the tour, such as the Flagler or even the Breakers... I think this has the potential to be a good tour, but it has a long way to go. I was happy to give a generous tip to our guide, but also happy that we bought the tour with a discount -- it would not be worth the full price in my opinion. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY. I went with another Couple and with High hopes, but became disappointed the minute the tour started. Guide was not from the area and stories did not even sound remotely true. Talked about A watch tour that stopped working when JFK passed away but it was just built in the last few years. Maybe he did not expect people from the area to be on the tour, I have been going to this beach for 30+years. We basically walked up and down worth Ave, this tour could have taken about 10Min and we could have got on with our night. it SUCKED!!!!!!! We were very disappointed in the whole experience. We have been on many Ghost Tours and this was the worst, the guide should of given us a print out and just directed us which way to go. The guide was very dull, no enthusiasm at all for any of the stories, the facts were not making sense and we felt rushed and wasn't even asked if we had any questions. The tour was suppose to be from 8 to 9:45 and it ended at 9pm with no explanation. Actually it was a blessing because the guide was so boring. The funny part was he had the gall to mention we could tip him.... yea right! All the other ghost tours were fun, informative and the guide was into his or her job so I guess Palm Bch needs to get its act together before they do any more tours. I visited my friend in January from Texas and decided that we should do a ghost tour while I was there. I paid for 2 tickets to do the tour but the weather ended up being bad and was cancelled. I was approved for a refund back since I was going back home the next night. Well I emailed them several times and never heard anything back until finally someone responded back but the person they were responding to wasn't me so that tells me they are disorganized. And finally I got them to respond back to my question about my refund and they keep telling me they will look into it when they have time. It's been a month so I guess I don't get my refund. So if your ever in the area and decided to do this tour make sure the weather is nice so they don't cancel and you end up paying for tickets to something you didn't get to do. read more

My husband loves ghost tours and we have taken many of them. We saw these tickets on Livingsocial and decided to buy them and make an evening of it. We drove 1 1/2 hours to get there and what a disappointment : (( It is by far the most boring tour we have ever taken. Strolling along Worth Avenue just didn't even feel like a ghost tour. I was extremely dissatisfied with the lack of customer service from Ghosts of Palm Beach. I purchased four tickets for the tour through Groupon. On the day of the tour, I received an email with a cancellation (It was not a phone call - I am glad I check my email frequently) due to the weather. It was a little bit too premature for the cancellation...it ended up being a beautiful evening. Since June 7, 2013, I am waiting for a return call or an email in order to reschedule the tour. I have left them 6 voice messages and 2 email messages with no reply. I contacted Groupon to make a complaint. Groupon staff is trying to reach them with no success so far. I am glad I made the purchase through Groupon because they already offered to reimburse me... Had I purchased directly from Ghost of Palm Beach, I am sure I would not see the color of MY money! read more

I enjoyed the tour! It was a hunters moon and the evening was lovely. Our guide seemed knowledgeable about the history of Palm Beach and the stories that took place on Worth Avenue. I purchased a Groupon for $12 and the stories, walk and entertainment along the way was worth every penny. Based on our experience, we would not recommend. Does not compare to other ghost tours. Don't waste your time or money. Tour Guide was nice enough but 90 minute tour was only 60 minutes and guide would just turn and walk away after sharing boring tales that were not very believable or connected in our opinion. Wish we had read other reviews before wasting our time....and money. Don't think of asking managing guide about refund - does not address time shortage issue and said he has only receive 100% positive feedback on our guide. I suggested that only those who had something nice to say gave feedback - who would want to waste anymore of their time writing review. He said that we could posting on social media - But any unfounded or misrepresented facts will be considered slander. Scary! There weren't enough facts given to slander - in my opinion. Gave one star b/c tour guide did seem like a nice guy. After posting this review I received a phone call from Evan Cohen - manager of this business asking me what was wrong with me and didn't I have anything else to do and was I mentally ill. This was my email to the company from our tour 7/20/13: Hello.. Myself and friends did your tour this past Saturday at 7:15. Thank goodness for Groupon because if we'd pay full price, I would be asking for a refund.. In short.. it was aweful.. I was not looking for ghosts to come out or things to move on their own.. I understand the premise of what the tour is about and your website is great but what we got doesn't match what you promote.. When we met at the wall, this lady (Ophelia) was just mingling around.. no uniform, no name tag.. kind of sloppily dressed with hair slung back in a messy pony tail..nothing to show she represents your company.. Most folks thought she was a patron.. First, I think the guides should have some type of portable mic as it was so hard to hear with the foot/car traffic on Worth Ave.. She did not command the group, it was like she wasn't property trained on "stage presence" on how to really speak to group to hold their attention.. She just seemed to recite the info with no real "umph" in her words.. I know she did say she had only been doing this for 2 months.. we pretty much picked up on that. Honestly, this would have been a great history tour as that is mostly what we heard.. the ghost/folk lore not so much. What was told was just so-so. About half way through, folks were really becoming dis-interested. Window shopping and people watching became the norm for most of the group. The stories she did tell were interesting but she seemed to ramble on and again, folks were just lost on the facts. In telling one story of a club that had exclusive membership back in the day, her word choice made people snicker.. Instead of saying "certain ethnicity" weren't allowed in the club" she said "people with different color schemes" Really?? That's the best she can do.. It just went on and on.. Again, no command of the stories or the words. The friends I went with love history and the paranormal so the tour was inviting but it really needs a lot of help. Although the tour was very interesting and entertaining, the tour guide, Evan, could have been a little more articulate in his descriptions of happenings throughout the town. He would have sounded much more professional thus leaving his customers more intrigued and eager to recommend the tour to others as opposed to being a bored and eager to be over with the tour.
