Worst Giant Eagle I have ever been in. Employees are rude. Never have the items I need in stock. Very poor customer service.

Whenever I go to Giant Eagle pharmacy at 200 Tarentum bridge road New Kensington I pray that I get Miss Janelle at the drive through window. I have to say that this Woman is the nicest most helpful and just naturally gifted with a Wonderful personality. Her Customer service skills are Excellent to say the least. Janelle always has a smile on her face and she interacts with I'm sure not only me but with your other customers also in such a pleasant manner. She should be the Model of what an employee that deals with the general public should be like, in fact she would be a Great customer service instructor for all your stores.. God Bless her and please hire more people like Janelle, she's an Angel and deserves recognition for her Service to not only her Customers but also your fine organization. Giant Eagle - Next in line - Grocery Near Me - New Kensington, Pennsylvania

I came here real quick to pick a few items for a trip I had coming up. I walked in here knowing that it was not going to be the cheapest place, but did not expect it to be expensive either. I had never been in this location before, but I decided that since it was where I was at that moment then it was going to have to fill my need for the day. It is an oddly placed store. Not because of the actual location, but because the store is at the bottom of the lot and the parking spots are on an incline. I fear the day it's super windy here and there is a loose cart in the lot. Inside it looks like it was fairly set up to make it easy to navigate. I walked in and had to get my bearings, but as soon as I looked around a bit I was off to the races. I ran and got what I needed as quick as I could and made my way up front to pay. This is where it took a bit of time. I opted for the self checkout lines. I think they need to add more of these, or at least have an orientation class on how to use these before you actually use these. It took a bit of time, but I finally made it through the line and was back outside and on my way. read more

Came in to pick an order and got sent service desk and still took forever for anyone to up the line and they sounded high. And when orders did come was skipped and got asked in who the order was for and I had to say should I come in get myself. read more

This is a great place to get cakes for your celebrations. I had a cake made here for a kids birthday party and they did a great job decorating it. Very professional looking and done on time! A+ to the decorator Jessie! read more

Cashier Renee, in my opinion, needs a refresh at Customer Service School, assuming she attended one.

I like to visit giant eagle for items that I can't find in other grocery stores around town. They have a lot of unique items and ones specifically from other countries. I enjoy making Asian dishes and they have a good variety or sauces and noodles. They also alcohol which is convenient. I also consistently find this store to be very clean. Also, the cashiers are always friendly. I always have pleasant experience here. My only thing is I wish they had a mother bathroom located in the eat in area .. I hate having to walk so far to it! If you want better prices Aldi or Walmart but they don't have the variety like giant eagle has. read more

The Giant Eagle I shop at most is minutes from my house. It's convenient. I was a faithful Giant Eagle shopper up until 2 years ago. Now I only go in a few times a year. I want to point out my review is not pandemic related. The store has a horrible layout. I have always found it difficult to navigate but that's not my complaint. It's their pricing. The weekly sales items aren't usually too bad but everything else I can get much cheaper at the other local grocery stores. I'm addition, ordering off the Giant Eagle website is a extremely frustrating. Items are hard to find even when using the search bar. In store shopping has long lines and long lines for self checkout. For the additional money I pay to shop there I expect a better experience. Aldi's is moving from a few miles away to a new bigger location within walking distance of this store. I believe they are going to pull a lot of Giant Eagles customers away.! read more

As far as Giant Eagle's go, this is a five-star setup. There is even a Starbucks on-site (for those of you that cannot shop without caffeine). Situated in it's own plaza, just over the Tarentum Bridge, there is also a Get-n-Go gas station. Why the 4 stars? Organic selection, Local Produce and Customer Service could always be improved. read more

I stood in line for the deli for 15 minutes they should have more than one person taking orders you shouldn't be waiting 15-20 minutes for lunch meat especially when you have 2 people working behind the deli counter knowing there is 5 people in line but that's just my opinion then when I went to order she was extremely rude to me and my fiancé giving us attitude read more

Very disappointing at best. A small trip to the market to pick up a few items turned into an hour plus event. The store appears well organized and clean. There is a moderate amount of choices per item. However, the majority of the staff are unfriendly and are not happy with their job. In addition, for the cost of living in this state, these are the highest prices I have experienced. The only other grocery prices this high were in Hawaii. The most expensive place to live in the nation. This is unacceptable under the minimum wage rates or rates below $18.00 an hour. read more

This store sucks. Every time I go in for something they never have it. The hot foods section is a joke. Snuff is always just about out of date usually by just a few days. Never enough check out lines open. They want you to use the self checkout and do there work for them while employees stand there and watch you. Been shopping here for many years. Have always been satisfied. However, I have noticed level of customer service slipping. Recently encountered extremely rude employee Amy at pharmacy, completely lacking in training of systems common customer service. Last week wanted to make a quick purchase, only one line open when I see a female opening her line, I walk towards only to have her yell at me that she's not open and will not be opening, 4 minutes later, she opens her line. Where's the customer service that Giant Eagle used to be known for? Now tonite, I wait in line for dry cleaning, rep handles an apparent issue that took some time. Patiently waiting my turn only to be declined my request for dry cleaning, told can't give dry cleaning after 8pm. Yet I was there before 8 but had to wait for customer before to take over 10 minutes also causing line behind me. I will find a new pharmacy, gas station, dry cleaner and supermarket. Community Market staff always super friendly. Sparkle cleaner you are much better quality and much better service. And I can't wait to try a new pharmacy! Bye Giant Eagle. read more

Big yikes with the pharmacy. I had to start using this pharmacy as it was the only place in my area that would accept highmark insurance. I have honestly only had one kind employee interaction when I had to use this pharmacy. My last experience went something like this- I pulled up to the window which is something I never do but with a sleeping toddler in the back what are you going to do. The woman at the window was automatically rude. She asked for my husbands name & address. I gave her both, she comes back snippy and says that's not the address on file and reads another. I had to pause a minute and she comes back with "well is that it?!" I'm like I guess. If that's under his name and information. She then rudely tells me I have to come back in a half hour because the prescription just was sent over. Which would've been fine but I could've went without the attitude. The man who rang us out was kind, a nice change from the mean women who they have employed there. As for the store itself I never have an issue, the prices are a bit high but if you know what sales to look for it can be reasonable. I would just say to stay away from the pharmacy if you don't enjoy being talked to like you are 5 years old. read more

I have to laugh at the complaints, I been coming here my whole life and never had a single issue . Clean, stocked, always in order, great produce and bakery, nice hot foods section, workers are always polite... One of the best grocery stores in the area. read more

I like the location of this Giant Eagle but the prices... they are just too high. Sometimes you can find a great deal but it's rare. I've always had good experiences with the associates. When I need help there is always someone willing to do so. The deli and meat departments are always well staffed and the associates are super nice! The fruit here is very fresh and the fact that there is a Starbucks inside is pretty awesome! They also have a wonderful selection of foreign foods. When I need something unusual I definitely come here! If it weren't for the high prices I would be here everytime. read more
