We moved to the area around 1 month ago. It was a tough month: Snowmageddon, below zero temps, etc. We finally had a good day and we decided to make a trip; we walked the 1 mile trip and found it to be well stocked. We ended up buying some frozen items so I picked up one of their freezer bags. We bought their Orange Chicken, some Ravioli, etc. Their freezer bag is great as we stopped by a pub and had lunch. I've become more and more of Trader Joe's fan over the last few years - I love their grocery options and I think their prices are generally reasonable (and depending on the item, are even the most affordable prices!). Since I'm out in East Liberty once a week for work, I'm currently shopping at this Trader Joe's semi-regularly. It shares a large parking lot with other businesses, so parking itself isn't hard to find. Unfortunately other drivers are obsessed with parking as close to the doors as possible so there's always some traffic as they circle that section of the lot. I always try to get away from that circus as fast as possible! The store itself is nice, and it feels bigger or at least better organized than the one in the South Hills. So the foot traffic always seems to move efficiently as shoppers grab what they need. Speaking of shopping, I probably don't need to talk up Trader Joe's options too much at this point. We all know about and have our favorite seasonal deals and products (I admittedly go nuts when the pumpkin flavored goodies hit the shelves!). Their frozen offerings are also pretty good, which I especially appreciate when I'm too busy or tired to cook. My actual favorite item is their low calorie/low carb/high fiber wrap. I use these for at least one meal of mine daily because they're tasty and nutritious! And of course, the staff are always great - Trader Joe's has the best training for their team, hands down. Shopping at TJ's always feels like an adventure. My kids are too old to look for the stuffed elephant but they're much more interested in going just to weigh in on the latest snacks. Staff are always helpful and personable, the produce is always in good shape, I love the fresh flowers and personal care products (especially the lavender salt scrub and candles), and checking out the new seasonal products. The frozen foods are often exotic, healthy, and super convenient, especially when entertaining. Our latest obsession has been the maple leaf sandwich cookies. And if you forget a reusable bag, they have a large, rotating array of cleverly designed totes (I'm starting to have a bona fide collection.) read more

I like this Trader Joe's. The staff is friendly and they almost always have sufficient stock of everything I'm looking for here. Trader Joe's as a company has amazing specialty products but I also go to them for the staples (pasta sauce, hash browns, etc.) and this store delivers on both fronts. My favorite regular product that they sell are frozen potato pancakes (latkes). It's also great that a lot of their products now have instructions for how to heat/cook it with an air fryer. My biggest point of feedback is that the spacing of the aisles are way off. When you first walk in it's surprising how big the produce section is. I was excited to maybe experience a Trader Joe's that wasn't going to be super claustrophobic but with how much space you have on the exterior border of the store, some of the inside aisles are really crowded. The two aisles I can think of are the granola bars/dessert aisle and the frozen fruit/frozen potato aisle. Both are so crowded that there is little room to walk and pass people if there are two flows of traffic (which there almost always are). This isn't the most comfortable experience with COVID-19 and trying to keep space from people. One last point of feedback, the crew members/mates (that's what they call their employees) dedication to customer service is 10/10. I recently went to the store and asked when some of their specific Fall items would arrive on the shelves and they were kind enough to tell me the exact day to come back for an item. I love the TJ at this location. They generally have what I need and the staff is super friendly. There are always TJ employees working on the floor and will cheerfully help you find something. Also on my last trip, I had a lot of errands to do so I bought an insulated cooler to keep my frozen/cold items from going bad. Without ice, all my groceries stayed frozen/cold for almost an hour after I left the store. So happy with my purchase and will be keeping this cooler in my car for future trips! read more

I have been here a couple times, I always forget why I don't shop there and I am always reminded lol. It's definitely not somewhere I recommended shopping. I personally don't like being swarmed while grocery shopping. The aisles are super small and tight and people tend to be very pushy here. They also don't carry very many products. The only thing I would shop here for would be produce, but it's priced the same as Whole Foods. Their prices are average, and the atmosphere is very hectic. I almost had a panic attack last time I went because it was so busy, and the music playing was very unnerving. That's being said, some people do really like it here. I am just not one of them. I'd recommended going just to experience it, but it's definitely not a place that provides a one-stop grocery trip. read more

Trader Joe's deserves a place in your shopping routine, especially now. I will start with the downside. The store can get very crowded at times and usually is busy. This can make it hard to navigate through the aisles, especially when employees are also stocking shelves. This leads to often just trying to grab what we need versus wandering the aisles checking out the new products, which is a big part of the fun of shopping at Trader Joe's. Fortunately the employees are always nice and they do keep the lines moving quickly. Trader Joe's is a great place to get many items you need (and some really good ones that are just wants). As prices have skyrocketed at a lot of stores I have been pleasantly surprised to find many items we regularly purchase have stayed the same or only had small increases at Trader Joe's. Hello organic beans that have stayed $0.99 a can! We always stock up for Taco Tuesday at TJ's. Corn tortillas, great variety of salsa, cotija cheese, chickpeas, etc. Frozen fruits and veggies and fresh produce are always go tos. Certain items (like berries) can be expensive but a good amount of their produce is a great deal. They have a great variety of apples. Spices and oils are an easy go to here. Seasonal items here are always a hit, but get it when you see it because it will be gone when you return. Pumpkin ginger cones are a must get. They also have great body butter. Their tea tree face wash has worked really well. The health and beauty section may be small but there are treasures to be found. They also have $0.99 greeting cards and great choices for flowers and potted plants. Try to avoid shopping at peak times if you can but this Trader Joe's is definitely worth a stop. Great Trader Joe's location in Pittsburgh! Staff are very friendly and helpful. I was quickly assisted when I couldn't find the canned artichokes. The staff member walked me directly to the aisle they were located so I could find them easily. On the weekends this store is very crowded and it is a bit difficult to maneuver a cart around the store. But the staff are still very helpful and the longer checkout lines are still very efficient. This Trader Joe's is in a plaza so there is always parking available. They have a great selection of groceries which were cheaper than I originally thought it would be! Some of their fancy premade foods like salads and baked goods are more expensive, but overall it is a very reasonable grocery store! I've always wanted to check out a Traders Joe's location after hearing so much about it from others including my sister. I finally took that chance when she took me here for a few groceries. I would have to say I was quite impressed to see a wonderful variety of products you can't get anywhere else. There are a lack of brand name items here but that's ok. I have never been disappointed in anything I've purchased from here. They should definitely be proud to have their name on the products they carry. I'm put off by 20% of their items due to price but I'll just go to his sister store Aldi for those items.     In addition to their product quality and variety their staff is excellent & hospitable when it comes to being helpful keeping the store well-stocked & Cleanly, locating an item, or just their efficiency to get their customers through the checkout lines. East Liberty is my Trader Joe's of choice. They always have a fantastic selection of produce and frozen foods. On a typical weekend it is packed here and often hard to find a parking spot. However, during the Covid 19 pandemic, I have never been more impressed with a business. Trader Joe's was ahead of the curve with only allowing so many people in at a time. I've only been going on Sundays and what a difference it makes. When you get inside there aren't a lot of shoppers around and everything is fully stocked. Trader Joe's just remodeled and expanded! They fixed many problems, the store is easier to navigate, there's more stock on the shelves, and the lines at the cashier are shorter. I've always loved Trader Joe's, however I was jealous when I visited their other locations. One of the best things about Trader Joe's is the great products. They sell things I like and can't get anywhere else. I also like their customer service. If I ever have a problem with a product, they replace it without questioning. TJs, Trader Mings, Trader Jose...all the faces of Trader Joes. This store has the friendliest staff and is more than likely to be stocked. They've recently reorganized the floor layout near the entrance with helps with entryway overflow a ton. The demos in the back of the store are always a delight halfway through the store visit. They're always combining things that I wouldn't normally think to bring together. On more than one occasion I've gotten whatever's on the stove as its enticed me with its taste. Meat and veggies are always a good deal, and the Chinese delights in the frozen aisle are better than expected. I frequent this Trader Joe's. Although it's very busy on the weekends, the staff is always top notch. They're fast, lovely, and knowledgeable on their products. I have a friend that I regularly lose, as she doesn't carry her phone and will disappear for hours on end, often at the grocery store or running errands. She is a terrible cook, so Trader Joe's is her favorite to shop at. In a time of stress, I called Trader Joe's, as we weren't sure where our friend disappeared off to. The worker who answered was compassionate and quick, putting me on hold swiftly to circle the store in search of my lost friend. With a small description and a panicked customer, the worker spent time looking around the store for her. Although she wasnt there, and turned back up at her home, I really appreciate Trader Joe's sticking their neck out for me and my beloved friend. Thank you Trader Joe's. My "Go-Tos" are anything pickle flavored, everything but the elote seasoning, any of their hummus, their desserts, and really everything. My first visit since the remodel. Its defiantly more spacious and have a better flow. Today was super crowded making it hard to get to the shelves. I found everything I needed and more. My favorite stops: 1.) fresh flowers - ranging from $3.99 to $9.99. They always have a great assortment. I don't have access to anything like it in Greensburg. 2.) raviolis - I'm a pasta lover. The flower selection is always amazing and super affordable. Guys have no excuse for not buying their ladies or gents flowers anymore! I was there picking up flowers for work and a month later while doing my expense report, I realized I had misplaced all of my receipts. I called and they were super patient and accommodating. Love organic food and this is the place i like to get it. They have al different types of items that are sold either locally or organic. Don't get me wrong not everything in the store is healthy or organic but it is worth the money you spend. There are few aisles and most of the food is wholesome good eats. The items are decently priced and i enjoy how they suit my lifestyle me being a single/engaged woman and all. The cereal is just the right amount so i don't end up wasting anything. They have a good selection of fruits and veggies along with dairy products and drinks. The store brand products are just as good as retail brands but at a lot cheaper prices. I walk away with enough food to last me 2 weeks at only about $130. I also love the natural healthcare products they sell like deodorant and toothpaste, even dog foods. I recently started buying their toothpaste over brand like crest and aquafresh. They cost anout $4 a tub but i enjoy the flavor and it comforts me knowing i'm making a better choice for my body. The service is another great attribute about this place. They have a sample bar in the back corner that they use to advertise products in the store both food and juices. I love their juice machine which has such good products like lemonade, green machine, and even coffee sometimes. The workers here are very attentive to what you need and are very helpful with selections around the store. Heaven! Paradise! Utopia! I went to my usual Giant Eagle looking for a Thai peanut style dressing for a recipe I had gotten from Trader Joe's for Thai Peanut Slaw. It wasn't until this very moment after the few months I've been in Pittsburgh that I suddenly and sadly realized how dismal the ethnic selection really was at my particular Giant Eagle (though I'm betting that has something to do with location; maybe other branches are different). Anyway, that rant belongs on the G.E. review another time. I drove 20 minutes out of my way just to get to this Trader Joe's, that's how badly I wanted to make the recipe. Upon arrival, I so realized I forgot how much I love Trader Joe's and what I had been missing all this time (sometimes you can be lulled into not missing something you don't see) -- selection, variety, ethnic food, food with flare, food with flavor. Seriously, my G.E. has exactly one aisle for all ethnic food and by ethnic at G.E., that includes the Mexican-like and Italian-like usual fare of taco shells and spaghetti. Everything at Trader Joe's is packaged and displayed to be inviting. There's a samples bar, there's friendly staff that seek you out before you have a chance to hunt them down to ask a question. Then they actually lead you to the aisle for the product in question. The available cashier calls you over to their line and happily helps you and rings you up. Note that I had just come straight from my grocery shopping trip at G.E. Nevertheless, I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to stock up on some flavorful additions from Trader Joe's. For dinner, I spied 2 spring rolls with shrimp with dipping sauce (and they were quite yummy, I might add). I added the following to my cart for another day: fresh stuffed pork chops, frozen pesto pizza, frozen shells with brie and asparagus, and frozen marsala dosa. Believe me when I say I wanted much, much more. I will be back. Twenty minute drive from home? Ha! I'm not deterred. Oh, and that recipe? Easy, peasy. I love Trader Joes. I wish there was one out in the Eastern suburbs closer to where I live. Trader Joes is a great store to pick up everything from milk and bread to fancy meals (they have a frozen coq au vin that is fantastic). They also have a large amount of organic items. Some people believe that their prices are high, but most items are pretty on par for what you would pay at Giant Eagle. Even when the store is packed and shelves are getting picked over, the staff is working busy to replenish items. If you don't see what you are looking for, find an employee and ask! In a recent visit, their cereal selection was seriously depleted and when I asked about my favorite mango granola, they grabbed several boxes from the back. That leads into the point that a major difference between here and other grocery chains is that the staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Cashiers keep lines moving and are very pleasant. That doesn't usually happen at other chain stores. Don't miss a stop at the samples area located in the back of the store. They have a juice fountain and always have one of their entrees or food items. On my last visit, it was a pasta dish. Although the store itself is fairly small, they have a wide variety of items. This is especially true in the frozen foods section. You can get everything from french to Italian, Indian, Thai and even Canadian poutine. And they are tasty and don't have the overly processed and salty taste frozen entrees tend to have. The down side to this location is parking. There are very few spots right near the store, so if you go on a busy day, you will likely be parking at another business and walking in to the store. Thankfully it isn't that far of a walk, but on a cold winter day like we have been having this year, it can seem like miles. Aisles can also get crowded on busy days. If you haven't been here, GO NOW. I adore Trader Joe's. They have awesome prices on delicious items (a lot of which are healthy, but not all). I'm always excited about shopping there & could probably spend an entire day browsing the store. The customer service is spectacular, they are great with returns, they will let you sample things if you need to- it's the perfect store! Just a few things that I love: peach mango orange juice, "this _ walks into a bar" cereal bars (blueberry, fig & strawberry are awesome), sweet chili sauce, quinoa pasta, meatless ground beef, meatless mandarin chicken, marsala veggie burgers, bbq chicken pizza-- I could go on all day. There have seasonal items too so you never get bored with their products. My only complaint is that PA won't allow liquor to be sold here, so we miss out on the awesome wine/beer selection they have in other states! =[ (get with the times, PA!) I shop at Trader Joe's often because it's convenient. It's really close to where I live. The staff are great and always willing to help. The produce section is not the best. I find that I have to look over the bagged fruits closely to make sure that they're not going bad or not growing mold. I think I think Trader Joe's is great for dried fruits and nuts, cheeses, yogurt, baking items, and snacks. Most everything else is premade, which I typically don't buy. So, If you don't like to cook and rather pick up something to throw in the microwave, this is your place. read more

A wide selection of organic food with reasonable price This short phrase can explain well the traits of this market. Personally I like trader Joe's ice cream. My favorite is an ice cream sandwich consist of chocolate chips, cookies and vanilla ice cream. A cup of coffee ice cream is ok. Clerks are so sweet. I was impressed by their kindness and enthusiasm. Whenever I ask something, they try hard to help me by all their hearts. I really appreciate it. Most of my neighbors recommended me to go to trader joe. I think they are right. This is one of those places that I enjoy, but always forget about. I enjoy the items on the shelves and always end up coming out with more than I went in for. Although I miss the lemonade they have. Why I can't give this place more than three stars, the obstacle course of a parking lot. I'm serious. Get out of your car and then stretch. Then do your parkour over to the entrance. read more
